Was my fault was making a car on lowpop and *thought* I had emptied out my shallow well towards the end of my life to get more water. Started next life and came back to one bowl filled well instead of the nine stones. Then I thought I'd emptied it out again but must not have, so I mentioned it on discord. Turns out sometimes I think I do things but I don't.
Mea culpa.
It was such a lovely thing to add decor to a town, same with mango tree. There was a lovely wedding chapel with sugar cane around it, seen it in a few town parks before the update to.
Other gripe I accidentally lathed my third pipe and now I have a fuel nozzle that cannot be scrapped.
I think there was an issue with how each model is unique so the parts aren't really pick and mix. Would be nice to see more character models but I'd don't think it's a big deal at the moment.

Love this stuff!
Here's the problem:
The characters are currently hand-made. I draw eyes, scan the eyes in, and then hand-place the eyes in the best possible position, relative to the mouth, head, hair, etc.
Furthermore, there are multiple stages to the eyes, mouth, and hair, for the various stages of life, that are all tied together (but they are different sprites). Each of these usually needs to be placed and adjusted by hand to get it to look right (so the "elderly eyes" line up with the "young eyes" and don't visually "jump" when the age transition happens, while also being positioned well relative to the elderly mouth and hair).
And beyond just position, I also hand-draw the parts of the character to go together. The one with curly hair has kinda crazy eyes and a flat mouth to go with it (gives her a kind of Salad Fingers vibe). Those go together. And the hair color, and eye shape, etc, also are drawn intentionally to go along with the skin tone. I think about each character as a whole package.
Yes, it's possible to procedurally mix and match these things, like Mr. Potato Head. But they simply won't look as good as the hand-made characters, for all of the above reasons.
Also... I think there is actually something special about the specific characters, and there being a fixed number of them (currently 18, more coming soon). You can get to know them. You can fan art them. You can name them in your mind (blondie, elvis, braids, etc).
As I keep adding more (my goal is 100 eventually, but no promises), there will be more and more variety, and less and less seeing the same characters repeat, while still keeping each character unique and recognizable.
If I wanted a proc-genned character system (like Mewgenics), I would have designed the whole character engine differently (whole banks of eyes, whole banks of hair, etc). Instead, I decided to hand-draw specific characters, and have a whole lot of them.
I would like the lightest skin tone to have more than just gingers, a boy and girl with white blonde hair would be nice. Then I can truly have my snow Queendom with my kids Elsa and Anna.
White people having some red headed kids, blacks having some brown hair kids and browns having some blondes would also be fun.
I honestly don't care how but we need the races to mix again. Happens to often that one family pushes another family out either by out breeding or straight up RP genocide, if mix births were again a thing less need to worry (idiots would still kill but they gonna kill anyways)
We have experienced the last female dying out and everyone notices, no one notices or cares that Jimbo and Mugen left ten years ago to get rope but haven't been seen since. They also don't care about silly Pomp going about town saying he made it back but he never managed to find any other family. Nor do they care about the boys that SID.
This is just my view. In this game if there was marriage (and I hope for marriage) the boy would have to take on the females last name as we are matriarchal society starting with Eve. Honestly I hope for no name changes at all, unless we go back to whoever names the child gives the last name. I've said in other thread the main allure of marriage should be mix race children, speaking the mothers language but knowing only the biome of their birth race.
I'm also very pro in giving boys an extra tool slot over girls, they should be working to support their mothers and sister after all. Before anyone says this is not fair, we are all born males at some point which means we would all experience the benefits. It evens out, boys have more skills to work/build with and girls have the joy of seeing their line continue. Benefits to both sexes.
Even being able to rope a dog and take it for a walk would be nice. Fluffy disturbing the smith? Let take him for walkies out to the prairie to see some nice bunnies.
So I wanted a pumpkin today, so I planted squash. I planted and planted and planted, after 12 squashes I finally got a pumpkin and I thought it would be easy to make more now. However the pumpkin only gave me one seed, which luckily did turn into a pumpkin but I was back on the squash grind to get a row of three.
Basically can we please get three seeds per pumpkin.
So I finally had some pumpkins and made my raw pie. They all fit nicely in the slot boxes, I light the oven to do the right click oven slot box dance and the cooked pies do not fit back in the slot box killing the pie dance flow. I continued cooking throwing the pies all over the floor (being dramatic here it was only four but still), surely they can be contained when cut I reasoned. I cut them and nope not in basket and not in regular box either. The choices being feast table (to many steps for my lifetime) or just leave on the floor.
Can we please, please, please store pumpkin pies somehow.
(Was on low pop server ignore the sugar planted long ago, never got a pic of my kitchen frustration and it doesn't show the squash grown on the other side or the mass stew)
I also posted a sort of similar idea in this thread
I know it has been requested many times, however with the new update comes a slightly different spin.
We need to find other families and once we have them, we need them to breed more children of their race. However maybe the white ladies have all the children leaving the browns, blacks and gingers extinct. What if however simply the presence of other races gives a slight chance perhaps 10% of different race children i.e. white ladies popping out ginger kids. Those kids would have their mum's language but their "fathers" biome speciality. Realistically if they all live together chances are some of them would get together.
To further this idea what if two people of different races (mm, ff or mf) both said "I wed Insert NameHere" or if next to each other "I wed you" then if one of the pair was female then they would get a 50% of either of their parents race. If it was two males then no special fertility but still fun role play. This of course would be limited to adults, no underage weddings.

If the rift comes back as the same small box as before, then this idea is pointless. The people you don't want to play with will be born nearby and ruin your game play even if you remove them being born to you. Everyone is together in the rift, everywhere is walk able and easily navigated to.
It's the end of days. Jason has cracked open the ground making rifts that have trapped us and set free the four Horsepeople of the Apocalypse. Now War, Famine, Death and Yellow Fever rule the land until we are all gone, then the world shall be reset for the Nightmare to begin over and over.
Quicklime - No
Plaster - Yes
Slaked Lime - No
Found this out the hard way by making Slaked Lime inside the forge then trying to cart it down to the cows to make paint. Had to move one by one by one.
It happens quite often that families intermix, especially after the update. I was Mina Minerva and I found the Yu family pretty close by to my grandma's Eve camp. I raised all of my kids in that town, however I was unlucky in that my only girl died. Before I kicked the bucket I raised a girl in the berry patch and named her Daisy Minerva, which meant my surname at least might survive.
If you look at Daisy her mother is a Yu but she is a Minerva, meaning multiple families in one town.
Edited to add that Daisy's great grandchild was named Malk Mars II which means at least another family (Mars) went to that town as well.
My idea is that you can only curse people you know, or a at least could have seen in game at least once in your lifetime (been within 20 tiles of your character). This only applies for that one life, so you can't die then curse them in your next life or get others to do the same. You need to actively be a character that has lived with the person to curse them. This means if they kill your mother/sisters when you are a toddler you can curse them when you grow up. This also means if someone outside your family griefs you can still curse them as long as you have seen them once.
If you have never lived with them, why would you need to curse them?
I like the red haired ladies but the curly haired white lady looks more like me in real life, right down to the slightly worried/crazy expression.
They do have one very good use, they prevent people from changing signs.
I had tons of fun with the glitch, it was like a nice holiday. I even managed to raise twins out in the Savannah whilst rabbit hunting, carrot piles were the ultimate baby sitter.
Nothing is stopping them from making their own town as an Eve and letting others in. Calling others that don't want to play with others griefers is just plain uncalled for, especially considering the many risks. I once had a pretty town in Server 4 and I let in anyone, most were nice (big thank you to Helen Loner whoever you are). However one told all their friends to join them, one of them even eve spawned in and ran to the town following the bell. They completely shut me out and took over and when I died one time someone built a locked room near my skeleton and when I spawned in next I starved to death, losing my town forever.
Losing my work forever through letting a baby live is just beyond frustrating. There is also the risk of an Eve spawn in your town and stealing your stuff usually your horse, axe and shovel. Or using all your clay to make about 40 crock pots of stew when you gathered the clay for an adobe walled tire factory and made the compost for wheat, or just generally messing up your building plans even if they are nice people that aren't griefers.
At worst I saw a group of mums standing together each taking care of "their" kids only.
Nurses are great but experience has taught me not to use them if I really want my kid to live and I have to admit I also get the "not my baby, not my problem" if their mum hasn't provided for them in some way, then most of the time I'm not going to. If asked AND the girl asking is either my sister/daughter/mother/friend AND I already have a baby to raise, then I'll feed. If a distant relative I don't know drops her baby off with me without asking it will depend on boy/girl and population whether I will starve them.
If we are short on girls it's a completely different story but of course I ideally want my daughters/sisters/nieces to live and their fourth cousins to die off and not compete for resources.
Did you ever see Casino Town? It had multiple towns surrounding it and a road with Maple trees planted down it. Trees of course should be planted but it isn't most peoples high priority.
I like the wheat next to the sheep pen and I like the bakery also close but if there is no space then wheat near poop is more important to me than flour near oven. Flour can be moved easily using a bowl and removed from bowl with curved shaft.
Bell towers aren't really important but they do get built.
Cleaners used to happen occasionally but it's a boring thankless job so few take it and then keep at it. Would you spend an hour of your game constantly cleaning for others? Best thing is to keep your own area clean and remember to return plates to the bakery (something I wish more would do).
Nursing multiples and not just your own only leaves you time to eat, you have a kid "f" ing almost constantly (I've nursed six before only one being mine, it's super time heavy). Baking whilst raising a single baby is doable and is something I've done.
Stabbing someone for letting their kid starve is really not a good idea, if you really care so much about the twin issue then you can raise them yourself.
I was in a life where one twin Dastan was griefing so her own twin Sunflower took her out, pretty amazing. (I was Lily II, ma had a flower theme wonder what flower Dastan was meant to be)

They aren't all bad and I don't mind the suicide of one twin after the other dies, I've had the survivor twin hang around until they birth a girl before.
Black speech bubbles are to cool to reward to naughty players, in fact we all know it encouraged people to grief so they could get them.
We have weekly and all-time, if you click on the person who was the last gen it shows you the Eve.

This weeks longest line was gen 83 from Eve Nezat
I have no tips but I usually start with don't forget to eat and the lesson often ends with dead child with berry in hand, been there done that myself as a noob lol
