Cart consistency. What can you put in a cart?

Palm kernels but not crushed palm kernels.
Latex but not sulfured latex.
A bowl of berries but not a bowl of berry SEEDS.
Wheat but not flour.
Pie crusts, but not a bowl of pie dough.
Meat and bowls (in stacks! I love that) but not carnitas

There is no way to predict what you can and cannot put in a cart or box.

There is no pattern that I can detect. It's a major obstacle to organizing and cleaning towns. Nearly all items in bowls should be able to be put in a cart IMO. It's not like we can't move liquids... buckets of water are fine. So why not everything else?

Hopefully with the thinking about people riding in carts this will get some attention.

I agree that what you can and cannot put in a box or a cart doesn't seem to have any logic to it.

Re: Cart consistency. What can you put in a cart?

Submit a github report in the issues section with a list of things that should be able to be stored in a cart but can't and maybe he'll get to it by Christmas.

But yeah he pays more attention to the issues github (sometimes) than the forums usually. Except then people start whining because "ree why no new content why only issue fixes" but that's what we're gonna get with his current style of throwing out updates every week with bare minimum testing.

Re: Cart consistency. What can you put in a cart?

I've been thinking about this problem too.  I like carting!  And it sucks to not be able to put some bowls/buckets of stuff in your cart when other things go in without a problem.

Let's make a thorough list and put it on github as an issue report.  Jason has been way more responsive to those than anything else.

It's also weird that you can carry a stack of bowls or plates, but not a stack of baskets.  But I can't decide if that's actually a bug or not.

I'm going to do some testing and make a list on the one city server 23.239.21.125

I'll post results here.

Re: Cart consistency. What can you put in a cart?

Bowls are particularly bad, they have a little logic to them like no liquids or small pieces but not much and not consistent. I think all bowls should just be allowed in carts.

There's already a few github issues about a few things that should be able to go in carts

Milkweed seeds in a bowl will also not cart.

Re: Cart consistency. What can you put in a cart?

Quicklime - No
Plaster - Yes
Slaked Lime - No

Found this out the hard way by making Slaked Lime inside the forge then trying to cart it down to the cows to make paint.  Had to move one by one by one.

Re: Cart consistency. What can you put in a cart?

maybe ask at github to fix

though Jason has a long list of stuff to fix

& yeah, it's at times annoying that you can't do something
but one should remember, not everything that needs a fix is urgent
