Out of the loop

I am completely out of the loop. Not a single post on here actually explains what is going on. I just know there's something going with murder, babies and rifts? Please help.

Re: Out of the loop

It's the end of days.  Jason has cracked open the ground making rifts that have trapped us and set free the four Horsepeople of the Apocalypse.  Now War, Famine, Death and Yellow Fever rule the land until we are all gone, then the world shall be reset for the Nightmare to begin over and over.

Re: Out of the loop

That's pretty neat. It has allowed me to meet another family for the first time. It was incredibly fun to learn each other's language.

Re: Out of the loop

you know how battle royale is a famous game mode now?
well, all ohol gameplay is now in a 700x700 tile area, to have ohol battle royale.
but instead od a smaller radius over time, you just slowly deplete all the food and wood in the whole area.
A small area that usually barely fits 2 cities, that same area is "just fine and enough space" for the population that is usually spread over 100 cities, according to jason.

theres never enough food or milkweed in this way too small area.
it is all mostly used up to make bows and arrows.
straight shafts are made into stakes to prevent others from establishing a base.
all straignt shaft trees are constantly cut down easily.

eves only spawn for the first 2 hours, after that any eve spawns as a baby instead; "eve window".
so, after 3 hours, war swords are completely useless, as there is only one family left on the server.
roads, walls and bell towers are next to never build, sure never completed.
oil is never pumped at all. newcomen pump is the new high tech thing.
property fenches were significantly more useful as walls, due to much higher population density, a single entrance was constantly heavily guarded.

this is a weid way to solve any issues with war swords or oil depletion or property oor any murder in general, but it sure works, to just let everyone starve constantly.

within 2 days, it  went down the shitter over time, as all farms collapsed and no more tools could be made due to no more nearby straight shafts.
people tried to raise only 2 children per fertile, and murdered fertiles who raised more. but that was not enough babies for some reason. so for a few hours, many people had only three babies near "towns", with many exceptions outside of them.
but with more and more farms collapsing, that "3 babies rule" collapsed into a "1 babies rule" and a server population of 70ish:
The last few dozen fertiles could only raise one daughter and maybe one son, that could maybe feed a second daughter, and after that just gave birth to "one corpse per second", a constinuous sound of crying starving babies to be ignored, and many people running out of lifes, wven though we got one life every 3 minutes by then.
This peaked in one player giving birth to 424 babies, and rasing next to none, before jason pulled the plug with TWO hard resets and some quick updates within 4 hours.

the total amound of in-family murders was pretty constant during all those drastic battleRoyale changes, cause people who kill for fun or cloth will just keep doing that.

sadly we all were too busy starving, and not many (non blurry cellphone) screenshopts where made: https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=7406

Re: Out of the loop

Ok well clearly Jason is just running tests and simulations using us, the players. Ollj, do you actually assume this is going to remain this way now? If so, you seem rather gullible and, quite frankly, very heated for nothing.

Re: Out of the loop

Lum, as best as I can tell things are being adjusted but yes we've seen no indication that this isn't the way things will be.
