1. People who take your shit without asking first. Even if they have good intentions, it's annoying.
2. People who loiter in the nursery despite the surplus of nurses, especially infertile women and men.
I love these player ideas (including ones that have already been implemented in the game), but the problem that currency, war, trade, and hierarchies all share is that there is no practical reason for these features. Something has to change fundamentally within the game for them to work...The specialization update was a step toward trade, but it didn't really encourage trade as much as it made well-making needlessly convoluted. My point is that I like the idea on paper, but I think it's ultimately up to Jason as to whether or not we can make meaningful use of a currency feature. Could end up buried and forgotten like the war update or treated as a cool RP gimmick like the hierarchies update.
Secure your home with wooden doors. Others enjoy their pine doors. Win-win. No change needed.
I've seen worse in this game's history, but I'm sure the current system can be improved. I don't experience too many baby deaths unless I'm in a particularly undesirable situation (loitering in the wild with no home, traveling to a faraway bell town, etc), but as long as 2-3 of my kids decide to stay I'd say I'm pretty happy.
Miss:
-Territories/Fences
-Navigability (Know all active towns on the map, as opposed to knowing just your hometown and the bell town)
Don't:
-Repetitive landscape and families (i.e. play as either a SMITH or a DOE for a week in the same fucking towns)
-Finite resources that are easily susceptible to griefing
-Saturation of Eves
-Player-driven/excessive apocalypse
People don't willingly subject themselves to a position of submission that yields no benefits? I'm shocked, SHOCKED!
Sounds like hell for vanilla users.
A group of guys triggered by the fact that some people disapprove of a prominent symbol of mass genocide and antisemitism.
People should just move on if they see someone doing stupid shit like this in-game. Commit suicide or kill them or leave the town. Don't post on the forum. Like others have said, trolls thrive off of your attention and raising concerns like this virtually does nothing but fan the flames. Move on.
I appreciate what the update is trying to do, but I think six slots is way too limiting. In an ideal world, people would have specialized professions and communication would flourish, but as it is I am just wandering around town for 10 minutes looking for somebody with n skill so that I can get one task done.
As much as I respect you and your work Jason, I have no clue why you would, of all the issues raised on the forums, choose to rework something so minor.
I don't personally feel like it is "radical" to call my daughter "YALE". But now I shall call her the abominable "YALEEN". At least that one player on the forum gets to call their daughter "HELGA" now.
There was a suggestion which I liked: You can spell out any exact name, but if the server has to autocorrect, then it picks by gender.
Second this idea.
I am a generally peaceful player and all and I would never instigate war, but given the repetitive nature of gameplay at just two families, I have honestly come to welcome any kind of conflict or RP bullshit that transpires.
I was born to the Kubins a couple times today. It looks like the family is going through a strange phase. One branch was living as a minority among the Banas, another was exiled by hostile Whislers and the last was just a lone mother in a very, very meager, Eve-style camp.
I know people hate this answer, but the solution to raids is to build fences.
Building defensive fences is a hassle and almost certainly useless in this post-rift meta, but that's how it is.
That being said, I hate the war mechanic as well.
Didn't care so much about mods back when the game was truly just a farming and building simulator. But as of late the game has taken a more competitive approach (war, limited resources, etc), and I really do think Jason should either incorporate the zoom mod into the game or outright ban mods.
So, ignore me if there is already a feature like this in the game, but I think it would be cool if it said "ally" instead of "no relation" once you establish peace between two families.
Admittedly, I have not been in enough families with peace pacts to know whether this is already a thing in-game.
We had the makings of a great town, but two of my daughters died young, one disappeared and another went on a killing spree.
Last I saw, the missing daughter was waging war with the Nim's in yet another Daisy town.
Sorry to my son, who was the best, hardworking boy.
I will never not kill a baby whose first word is "faggot" or "nigger".
I don't know if it was you, but someone made this exact structure north of Nim town and hoarded a bunch of shit there.
Just had a pretty fun run.
I was a girl born to an Eve. Mom was a little weird in the head. She wasn't abusive or anything; she was good mom. But she was always complaining about bell towns and refused to settle. She typed up some coordinates and proposed that we travel to a bell town. I agreed and that's how our journey began.
She had multiple children on the journey. She insisted on keeping each and giving them unflattering names like UGLY. Still, her children stayed and my children stayed and eventually we were a big band of seven or eight homeless gingers running aimlessly through the wild with baskets of food.
Soon Mom got old and I was lacking a daughter, so she told me she would die and return as a daughter: she never returned. With the death of our spiritual leader, we had no clue where we were supposed to go, so we settled on some fertile land near the place my mom died. There were lots of berries and bananas and a reasonably placed natural spring, so thankfully, we were able to support our gang of six or seven people before a farm was even built. I did have one girl, just before menopause. She fell into a comma at age three or four, so we were scrambling to keep her fed with what little we had.
It was definitely an unconventional life.
What's the worst outcome of eliminating a racist baby? One less person in the workforce.
The best outcome? You nip griefer shenanigans right in the bud.
Of course, if she's the last girl, you might just have to tolerate her bullshit, but the fact is that in most circumstances, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages of killing a racist or unruly baby.
Hey, it's Grandma Eve.
Four kids stayed, three of whom died.
Igor died of yellow fever.
Janet starved with a basket of eggs and branches.
Helen starved by the berry bushes.
The fourth child, Noel, was AFK. Between feeding the fire and my comatose daughter, I didn't have time for much.
Fortunately, Noel did eventually provide some grand daughters, but I was near death by the time they were born.
I hope you and the girls made it, Newt.
You'd complain if someone stole the milkweed for your buckets because they have "better plans", so how is this any different.
We must've met the same twins. Same situation for me. Twin boys saying 'fag'. The nurses decided to stop feeding them for bad behavior, but some bystander took pity and started feeding anyway. I stabbed one twin and the other started bitching so I killed him too. Then some busybody came over, told me I was 'causing too much violence' and stabbed me.
No regrets though. Keep doing what you're doing.
If you ain't in the mood, don't play. Instead of throwing temper tantrums online.
