How does being an Eve help with killing people? I am so confused. How does pvp work these days?

#2 Re: Main Forum » jason is officially into torture porn. » 2019-07-30 18:13:15

I'm not saying anyone who has been to donkeydown is a cunt but I have never been and that also holds for most players. If you're always ending up there you're the asshole.

#4 Re: Main Forum » Feedback Regarding Trading » 2019-07-30 17:38:36

Trade needs first and foremost huge surpluses and different costs. You would need large areas of the map (not this tiny box), and for example different fertility soils and high concentrations of metal. So if you had two towns, one with tons of food and one with tons of metal, they would trade pies for tools or something like that. For now though mines run out very fast so you cant really have infinite iron (which was the case, or at least lasting for many generations, when looking at old mines). And soils have the same fertility everywhere.

#5 Re: Main Forum » The real problem with the game right now is not what you might think » 2019-07-30 17:34:46

I don't understand how someone makes game changes to force a behaviour on players. There is no perfect outcome. I remember a few months ago we had a huge town going. For days it kept growing, with two bell towers, great farms and bakeries. Roads leading out of it at all directions, people building houses and adding buildings for the fun of it (it was a short time before the temp update). I wish we could see again something like that. It felt like Rome or something. I remember walking 2-3k and dodging so many dangers to get to it, then spending a few lives expanding it and fighting griefers.

I don't understand why there should be a boundary limit. If I want to walk to the east for 50 minutes why should I be blocked?

Face it, Jason doesn't want us to migrate any more. There's 0 chance he'd do something to support migrating when his last update was so against the concept. There really isn't any migrating anymore at this point when you've only got a 700x700 plot of land to work with.

in tutorial town there is no rift and we are free. all you need is an axe and a shovel and you can become rich!

#8 Re: Main Forum » How to make the rift work » 2019-07-26 11:57:28

This is by now Jason hating on the players by completely ignoring griefers in the game design. When most games are ruined by griefers. Open your eyes dude.

#9 Re: Main Forum » Jason this is the worst thing you've ever done and I'm really upset » 2019-07-26 11:49:16

Having the limited boxes means if they kill all of something you are just screwed forever. And they're doing just that killing all the animals, milkweed, etc. This was a dumb idea from the start, you have to consider what the griefers will do when you make a change

#10 Re: Main Forum » Game unplayable » 2019-07-26 11:43:33

This forum is the same as ever except with 1/3rd the people as a few months ago. I just came back on after a long hiatus, can someone explain the whole world gap thing? Why? Is it an anti-griefing mechanism or something?

in this game you do two things, left click or right click, and they are borked

#13 Re: Main Forum » Big towns die because of game mechanic and not players mistakes » 2019-03-20 16:13:37

player count seems stable around 130, I do see it dip bellow to 80-90 or 110 for many hours but that is mostly on times americans are sleeping.

personally I haven't played in a week, the game is a chore since temp update. it is just tiring. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, kept playing for a while despite not enjoying it. I waited for the "fixes". But the playing experience is a strange mix of boring and stressful now. It doesn't have the feel I liked from before.

On top of that, guess what, there is no fixing this game. Jason "fixed" clothes not killing you due to adding heat, so you could survive mosquito bites. Then he "fixed" something else, that changed temp calculations, so clothes kill you if you get bit by a mosquito again.

It is all spaghetti code and he can't even figure out all the things he does when he makes a change. He wrote all of it and even he can't understand it. He broke horses introducing wild lassos, breaking sheep in the process so that they eat ropes when you drop them fed? Was that fixed? Then he accidentally introduced a bug where you cant get on horse carts, leaving for a week a few hours later, doing some kind of "hack" to patch it up until he returns. This is just... I don't want to deal with this.

#14 Re: Main Forum » I tried yumming "seriously" and it made a big difference! » 2019-03-20 16:07:30

ok you got to 12 yum, what are you going to eat that is easily available? if there's a bunch of foods, that means the previous weren't easily available, and so on.
yumming allows you to do a lot *if* the different foods are there but you don't really save on pips.

so this is a second time i starved to death literally in seconds because of the combination as stated
temp update + clothing + mosquitos

after the temp update is to head towards fully clothed, the most resonable thing to do
but the mosquito bites are just totally OP when clothed, fully clothed is simply deadly & in seconds, because when bitten, the temp is still at its peek, as it was before the temp update
so if running in the wild, mosquitos are as deadly as boars, snakes & wolves, absolutely no chance of survival because the time is just too short to recover & be able to grab some food

- - -

I am tired with all the fucking bugs with the temp update, Jason thought he had fixed this again, some other "fix" probably broke it. How do people even still play...

#17 Re: Main Forum » PSA: Horse carts broken, public life data offline » 2019-03-18 12:55:08

so, you introduced a new update, which you know means bugs most of the time, then immediately left, without being able to fix anything for a week.

I hope you mention that in your speech/presentation.

#18 Re: Main Forum » Video about why you should give appropriate credit » 2019-03-10 19:55:55

as the video says, a simple web search reveals the truth. The people being confused and misinformed are people who play on mobile, therefore "casuals". You can't expect them to do an internet search, understand what open domain is, that a no copyright movement or philosophy even exists. Caring about what the casuals think is a losing battle.

#19 Re: Main Forum » JASON! You need to fix the area ban! » 2019-03-10 19:52:14

it makes no sense that the eve spiral is smaller than the area ban. The only way this system would work is if most Eves died off so that all settlements were 2000 tiles apart, which is not the case, or if settlements within 2000 tiles typically connected into one village, which is also very unlikely. So the area ban greatly overestimates how large a city is. It would make more sense if the eve spiral was 750 tiles and the area ban was 500, with the spiral being larger to minimize the risk of eves moving closer together by the time they settle.

Dude i know you getting pissed an its a dick move to grief that town. But listen big towns like those stop eve camps from forming. If anyone /die in that town it would cause the player to be banned in any eve camp within 2000 tiles radius, this is because the new area ban update. Dude if one person can kill a city with 15+ people in under 20 mins that town doesn't really deserve to be alive. i locked the door in front of them giving them like a 2 minute chance to notice they didn't. I just discourage people to make towns using stone walls and have at least 4 plus doors. dude if i hadn't done that someone else would've it was way to easy.
Again i really shouldn't have killed them but i hope at least 4 people in that town learnt a lesson.
Dude i also know that you have grieved towns before i also checked you curse score.

are you actually 12? I wish there was a block function here like on discord.

#21 Re: Main Forum » How much do you leave town? » 2019-03-10 03:03:50

no mod means often a very easy death in the wilds, especially in swamp/badlands/desert. If you don't have clothes and a backpack particularly.

Stone walls are the worse. Never build with them.

I agree that’s the message I’m trying convey that stone walls turn into ancient stone walls that can’t be broken. So it’s better to make areas with high population with adobe. It’s simple all those people in that town learnt a lesson. It’s probably good for the community.

no, being a dick is not good for the community. You want a nursery with few doors so that you can keep them closed. Griefing like a shithead doesn't show anyone not to build a perfectly valid building, just that you need the mod for the FOV so that you can stab idiots like you. Go troll/attempt to mindfuck people somewhere else.

#24 Re: Main Forum » JASON! You need to fix the area ban! » 2019-03-09 15:53:03

yeah well, the game has a few rules for where new eves spawn that currently don't make sense. Eves seem to spawn following the Eve spiral, but also close to placed markers. The Eve spiral is probably not that bad, but placed markers mean the eve village competes directly with settlements close to it for players allowed to play in the area.

#25 Re: Main Forum » Are We Having A Player Decline? » 2019-03-08 10:12:11

well its not about returning even, if a region has 30% of player population at any time it will die off since people will have to play 1-2 lives elsewhere.
