I think one cause of the murders is boredom.

The nicer the town the more food there is, the more murders there are. For some reason, murders don't make me very angry like people who undo your work. I was stabbed shortly after I took this screen shot and I just stood there.

It's not as exciting as being killed by a snake, not as memorable as removing a bush on your own at long last being murdered is kind of nice since it removes you from the place with all the chaos for a bit.

That's not to say that I don't take steps to reduce the problem. Most murderers can't even make knives. They are in a nice town with all the food they need and rather than learn something new make a car or a radio or even just a pump, they go for the murder since they don't have a job or the pressure of finding food.

Just to add a question to this post, since it was mostly about sharing some interesting moments from my games, I'd love to see your most ... shocking screen shot from the game. I have this one which seems tame until you realize that is what I was born in to, my family being eaten by a bear AND a murder.

I was shocked. /shocked I say.

had that on Rhea family, we lost our name, lsot population
what we had? like 15 packs, fully built city, nothing really needed, bad design which would have needed hours to remake
my sis killed my mom, she was talking about going to 2000 tiles city (which turned out to be where i was last life)
but she never did it and was already 33 so i stabbed her for being a dick with our mom, she just made a fire, she didn't wanted to die
then i grabbed a horse like my brother and went into other town, nothing to stay there for, would have done it if im female

kills arent that big of a deal
people are bored and they don't want to stay anyway

I (personally) believe that killings are done as away of enjoyment, their is a reason why their are so many first person shooters! normally I am okay at those games but in OHOL killing fells different for me... I think its because in this game you are more human, well at least you should be! people who kill obviously are bored or need some thing to do besides help. not even if the enjoy meant is unethical.
