a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

As far as I know, you are not allowed to quote someone in quotation marks unless you write down word for word literally what the person said. So even though latter might be easier to read, it is actually not valid as you can assume that all people in the brackets have not literally said the exact same. Better stop quoting altogether when you reply to the post directly above.
Ontopic: Green walls ftw!
Though you should advertise what the product currently is and not what it may look like in the future. More so as this is not an early access title anymore and the release was quite a while ago.
I see no difference in what Blizzard did recently with their Warcarft3 Reforged advertisement, for example. Yet they got shitstormed but it is not the same here even though the case has similarities. I know, sizes are different but it is about the principle.
Dont get me wrong, I am neither a fanboy nor a flameboy. I just look objectively on this.
When I bought the game on Steam, according to the trailer I was also under the false assumption that there are robots, streets, sports cars, calendars, desks, clocks and so on. Turned out that all this stuff was not ingame. Disappointing. Misleading.
While it is true that he updates the game every every week, it is also true that there is false advertisement for this game. And that is a legit issue to talk about. But constructively and not like a 12 year old as JasonY does.
Will the yum bonus disappear? Hum, I hope not because I like building a chain.
Does the 12 seconds timer start when the first player has initiated the posse or does the timer start when all necessary players have joined the posse?
What do you mean by awkward pathing? Is this a vanilla or mod related thing?
Edit: Duhh, disregard. I just discovered the answer in the bug section.
I am a doormat
Since the update I have not yet witnessed one single kill. Might be lucky but I like the change obviously.
Yesterday or the day before I squeezed some oil from this spot as well. At least 5-10 tanks.
Your suggestion feels artificial to me, too.
For more „real-life consequences“ for murderers, you would need something more like in terms of legislative, executive and judicial consequences.
I noticed that this has increased recently. Feels like more and more players are afk straight away after birth. It is annoying to constantly feed them and if you do not you lose score. Something should change, imo.
Interesting. However, now you need consent of the whole town to tattoo someone. A built in exception for this would be nice.
Tired of eating berries? How about playing another game? A multiplayer game about raiding maybe?
Oh wait, right. This whole thing is not about raiding and killing, but about destroying other‘s fun specifically. Well... How about visiting a psychotherapist?
Wish I could talk more with you about this in particular, Destiny, especially as it now turns out to become funny but I am afraid that would be too off-topic for this thread.
Yaa... no, I do not think so. We gotta live with the diary format.
Patch notes like you get them from Grinding Gear Games, for example, are more for hardcore gamer audiences. I guess ohol‘s way more casual. Also with a lot more female players probably. ... not that I want to imply something by that though cough
Punkypal is maybe referring to this line from Jason from the Baby Placement update:
But we should also be willing to ignore cool-downs and area bans if there are no other mothers available.
However, in that update note, Jason himself referred with area bans to that kind of area ban that occurs automatically after you lived a life in a certain area to prevent you from spawning in the same area/family again the next life. That is apparent from the sentence before that quote, saying:
Of course, we also want to respect each mother's birth cool-down when possible, and also each player's previous-life area bans (so they don't get born to the same family over and over).
However, I do not know if an area ban of this kind is equal to an area ban resulting from a curse. Actually, it should not, because:
And of course, through out all of this, we respect curses, never placing a cursed baby near a player who cursed them, ever ever ever. If there's no place for a cursed baby to go, they are sent to donkey town.
That being said, keep in mind that since last update, cursing rules have changed so the rules should also apply the other way around. Look:
Along with keeping the person from being born near you, you will also avoid being born TO them, with them as your mother, whenever possible. This doesn't block you from getting born near them, to some other mother.
Yes. Very confusing. On top of that, as it is a fresh update, some bugs could happen. In the end, I still do not quite fully understand how curses work, I guess.
If previous life area bans and curse area bans are not the same and rules apply identically to cursed as well as cursing individuals, he should not have spawned as your baby ever ever ever. But he did. So I guess I did not understand something correctly.
Maybe it is a bit early to talk about next update already since the last one is only a couple of hours old, but man... I really hope we see some real content additions in the next one.
Last couple of updates were nice too but idk, they were more of the bugfixing, quality of life and rebalancing kind of updates. And sure, we got dump buckets but how about some items from the game trailer on steam, eh? Isn‘t it time to come up with this stuff too at some point? ...like maybe 93 updates after release?
If this was Blizzard, people would climb fences already. Have you heard about their newest Warcraft 3 Reforged shitstorm? Among other things, they were accused false marketing as they advertised the game with trailers that showed the game differently. They recently changed their ad site and exchanged trailers with real footage because of it. Isn‘t it similar to ohol‘s trailer in which people might also obtain the impression of promises which are not being fulfilled even after such a long time after release?
I think it is time for dem robots.
I am no longer having the running back and forth bug anymore. Recent update seems to have fixed things.
Occasionally however, I still get teleported and run in place. But it is rather rare. So everything is fine, I guess. Thx!
Weird. Sounds like a hardware or third-party software issue to me.
Though I gotta say, very little information given from your side on this. Not easy to say anything at all here.
Well, just because there is an order to place feast items on the table to craft a feast, it does not mean that items will suddenly disappear if you do not place them in the correct order. It should only prevent placing inapplicable items. As far as I know, at least.
Maggie, I suggest you try to replicate it.
Wait, you had a fix for the running issue in your client, I had reported in the bug section? Damn, I missed completely on this. I appreciate it though. Just wish I had seen it earlier.
Wow, unexpected update on a Sunday. Nice! Good work!
Really was hoping to see a fix this week
Issue still happening
And what if someone kills them? Heal a griefer? Grief a healer? Ain't so easy no more
I think it triggers when you do a lot of clicking while heading to where you are going.
Actually, I had the impression it's the opposite. I'm having the issue when I hold the mouse button down to move. When I click often to where I want to go, then it seems to not happen that often. But like I said, constantly clicking means clicking on items more often than on the ground. It's just less convenient and more frustrating.
Maybe it happens more often when you change directions while holding the mouse button along the edges of the screen. Maybe also when there are obstacles around that you must move around, indicated by the black stripy lines on the ground. Idk, but it happens all the time for me.
