Hey I was Knight your adopted Mom, I remember feeding you on berries at first since I wasn't yet old enough to actually produce milk, I think it was only a little while before the mass connection lost that I was actually able to feed you properly.

I felt pretty cheated by the way that life ended since I had some good gear and things had been going decently up until that point! Sorry our time together got cut short!

Hi son! Glad you had a nice life. I kind of lost sight of you while trying to keep my girls alive so the town wouldn't die out.

Oh my god, hi Mom! ^_^ That's completely understandable since you were the only girl I'm pretty sure, I saw you around near the berry bushes talking and explaining things to the kiddos though, but I was always moving and doing things so I didn't stop and chat as much as I wish I had! I'm glad you managed to continue on the lineage, it was nice seeing all the girls in town by the time I passed considering how I entered it!

I had a lot of fun playing with you my guy, you were efficient, quick and were really helpful and when you gave me your knife at the end of your life I like to think I made good use of it by killing some sheep after me and that blonde lady made some sheers, I made knitting needles too and gave the town two aprons before I took my leave of life as well.

But none of that would've happened without all the help you provided the town, especially the cart and the pottery and the blade you made, it was a pleasure building off of your succuess!

I wanted to help out more, but I had six babies - five girls and one boy. Was also trying to get the meat out of the pen as it was getting too full!

That area was definitely too squishy, if I go back I'd make some ovens higher up!

Thanks for being an awesome baking buddy! big_smile

I died two minutes before you according to the lineage section of the one life website! Sad, but it happens! Thank you for being my baking buddy! Had a really good time making all those pies and bread!

I was actually born back to the same town later on but in the Moneymaker family which shares the place- I was Troi Moneymaker! Don't know if you were there this time!

Spent my most recent life as a round the clock baker, I was content to just making pies but I got given a knife early on in my life luckily so I could also make bread too. Not much happened in that life, it was really calm and people seemed to be working well together from what I saw, we ended up having so much pie and I had an awesome baking buddy named Lucy!

I think being a baker is definitely one of the more chill jobs, I've been doing that a lot lately and seem to avoid the majority of drama in a civ.

Hm... I do agree for the curse thing (even though I wouldn't accord it much importance -Heresy to the forums!-), but what actually matters, at least to me, are the family trees, which are not affected by names, as far as I know. I'd rather have a name to be interacted with that none for having waited for an hypothetical named relative.

If there's no named relatives around that are easily accessible after a little while, it's fine to name your kids. But I'd say it's better waiting since people can now named nearby nameless people who can't be picked up anymore, anyone can do it just by going 'you are Toby' which gives the nearest nameless to you a name, but no last name, essentially what your mother would've accomplished to begin with. So benefit wise waiting really is the best way to go if you can.

Too many times since the naming update have I been born to a woman without a last name and whilst her instinct to name me is commendable don't name your kid if you have family members with the last name around. Let those family members name your kid so that they recieve the last name! This is especially important for your girl kids because they'll be able to pass that name down again!

Last names are very important especially for pin point accuracy with the curse feature so do everyone a solid and keep the last name going for both lineage purposes as well as being able curse more easily, most people aren't going to remember if Tom the griefer is Tom III or Tom II, but most people remember someone with a last name!

People just want advanced towns and cities without wanting to contribute to actually building one.

One thing you can do is name yourself straight away, find that people want to stay with named Eves more often.

Eve camps don't always fail but you gotta be quite lucky if you want to be a successful Eve.  You need a good spot, Enough food for you and your kids to survive pre-farming,  Close to a nice cluster of ponds, nearby to savanna with lots of rabbits and seeds, Middle temp desert tile is convinient also. But even with a good spot you still need good children, preferably a single good daughter who can properly manage kids.

Personally one of the reasons I suicide as a baby if it's an Eve run is if the mum is unamed, it's the mark of a player that one; doesn't care much about their investment in the game, or two; they're new and they didn't pay that much attention to the tutorial. I don't mind new players, but many times when I've been born to a nameless Eve they've been carrot/berry sponges, letting all their kids do the work of setting up camp which is just...unsatisfying especially if they eat all the food nearby without doing a single thing.

So which vegetables are the best for an eve? Berries or carrots?

Berries are good if you can get a farm going quick, they take a while to grow though (roughly twelve or so minutes before they spawn berries) so my suggestion would be do both- keep the carrots to sustain you whilst you wait for the berries to grow since carrots take 4 minutes to grow after being watered.

I've been experiencing glitches too. Have items been randomly disappearing for you? Or things being moved whilst someone is standing super far away? Things of that nature.

I thought you would want to know, and I am really sorry.

I killed him in the end, because he killed his last daughter, which then dropped a bow.

Yo my dude, that killer you speak of was likely my Grandmother according to this lineage: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … _id=513754

My mom Hope survived after being abandoned and had me (Dedric), I had some kids out in the wilderness where we started up a new place.

Honestly both pies and stew are pretty great, better to have a mix of both not only for potential Yum bonuses but also because of the whole pies you can move but stew is stationary thing. Best to use the extra wheat dust for something too otherwise it gets so out of control it takes up potential planting space because people don't move it far to hit it.

I was born as James: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … &id=493715

I mostly just did whatever needed doing, it was a pretty simple life, I briefly took over forging when I saw we needed plates and bowls and that we also had iron about. So I did that. Here comes Tom: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … &id=493567 who tries to help me, seems okay at first but then he makes a blade and I know immediately this is not a good guy especially when he takes it away into the woods as I follow him.

I rush back to warn folks. A woman named Lilly says he's probably trying to kill her, a minute later he comes in- I have no knife or bow or anything, but we have very little women and I do have one thing; my body, so I rush around between the two as he chases her, hoping that if he stabs anyone it'll be me. We manage to wear him out and the shepherd Jehovah fucking snipes him and doesn't hit any of us despite us being really close together.

I took the guy's backpack and knife and nobody seemed to have a problem with that, I think I proved my worth then. Before dying I handed my backpack and knife to a girl in her teens named Liza who had been helping me try and get a lady to name her daughter, she seemed trust worthy. I died not long after.

#17 Re: Main Forum » Tutorial stones? » 2018-07-08 03:47:01

Random tutorial stones out in the wilderness are a result of Jason shutting down the servers for the update, but it not working entirely as expected so things like the tutorial stones kind of got a couple of random outside the tutorial spawns.

That's part of what made me interested in the server to begin with, the forum is good for talking about specific things, but not really all that great for actually socializing with folks who play the game.

No, I meant they are ridiculous because they would totally change everything.

How?

For one baby survival would be easier (at least at first), kids would not be kids anymore and mortality rate would be significantly slashed intially and boost population without there being any real work involved. Secondly if a baby instantly becomes an adult upon being named this gives griefers almost instantaneous ability to grief without people having even gotten a chance to observe them for a while and come to their own conclusions.

Also if a girl baby instantly becomes an adult that means she's also likely to instantly start spewing out babies, so whilst babies becoming adults makes things easier short term it also has the disasterous effect of too much population growth too soon meaning the whole settlement will likely starve pretty quickly because of baby booms.

#23 Re: Main Forum » Reasons why you would abandon a baby? » 2018-07-05 14:39:17

Generally I try to avoid baby abandonment if I can, but if I feel the food can't sustain the population increase or if we're out exploring really far from the settlement and I know the food nearby is very little on the return trip I prioritise my survival, I might try and look around a bit and see if there's a cluster of food nearby I can stop at until the baby is grown though first but that ends up being all down to luck.

I'll abandon a baby if they're being rude/racist/a general asshole, if your first words are 'fuck u mom' or a slur I'm gonna second guess keeping that kid.

I feel like you're basically a griefer. An Eve should always name herself, do you not realize what it actually means to be an Eve? You are the only one with the privilege of giving 20 generations, hundreds of people, a last name, and you selfishly choose to take that away from them claiming it makes you too important? At least think about it.

It is not grief, it is a choice. The problem with family names is that you will get focus by griefers. It is even more safer to not have family name. The ''griefer'' is the one giving a family name that lock this family destiny to a masacre.

Everytime somebody talks about her family on forum or discord. They get killed if they didn't die already.

I think it's a stretch to call not giving a lineage a last name, but also griefers are going to focus on whoever they want, having a last name might have an affect but it's a small one if that so that's not griefing either, it's playing the game- the only people doing the griefing are the actual griefers.

But in my opinion having a last name is important, it means I can look up the people I've played with- that good old uncle Bob Panda who gave me that backpack and told me a story that one time? I can look him up and see what his last words were even days afterwards and see if I know any of his more immediate family.

Not having a last name kind of takes away that feeling of being related to people in game, and sure you can look up people even if they don't have a last name, but the chance of finding that person is very low without a last name especially if that death isn't new.

I do lose a lot of motivation when a see a new camp not on the desert.  Its just a lot more food to go through.  I know there's a chance we will make it, its not impossible.  It just bums me out.

Giant berry farms aren't so bad, at least you can go to the far side (there is always a far side) and pick compost berries there.

Once I almost suicided because the town was so big and I didn't know what to do.  But it turned out great because I discovered building.

The problem I find with the berry bushes is that all the compost goes on there and there's very rarely anyone maintaining the wheat or carrots for the compost, I've had at least about fifteen or sixteen runs in last week or two where folks don't balance stuff and create their own faminine. Unfortunately this has put a lot of negative associations with giant berry farms in my brain XD.
