I'll have to think about that....

Maybe it shold be a sperate thing from curses

Also we have curses to deal with griefers. Some of them go around it by buying extra accounts but there is a limit to how much one is willing to spend to grief and banning people has the same weakness

#3 Re: Main Forum » Why I take a hands-off approach » 2020-06-26 07:40:36

Jason already has moderators in the discord and forums. On discord you can also just block people

yea he really sounded quite burned out... i guess its quite hard for a one man developer to make everything by your own for that many years....

Did he give a specific date when he will stop updating the game?

i thought there was something mentioned in steam that he will support two years or so of updates after release, but i didnt find the statement yet again.

The game is already more than 2 years old. It was released in like late febuary/early march of 2018

There was a mod that gave them different sprites, not sure if it still works tho

#7 Re: Main Forum » New idea for killing » 2020-05-07 21:14:36

Yeah leadership really needs to be shown some love, it has a lot of potential and I really like the idea of it but it's way too shallow

#8 Re: Main Forum » New idea for killing » 2020-05-07 21:07:36

I think killing shouldn't be regulated by poses, auto aim, or warm up (the period between targetting somebody and being able to kill them not the bloody knife thing) just make murder how it was pre warswords

Leaders should be able to assign guards
Guards have special marking
They can use non lethals (battons for example)
A guard can batton a griefer which stuns them for a short period, leaving them unable to move or do anything. The guard can handcuff the stunned person leaving them unable to use anything till the cufs are removed and being allowed to be dragged, the guard can drag the criminal into jail. To prevent the jailed from just starving himself and getting reborn in the same town dying in jail would nake you area banned for a long time

Also what about a proper way of exiling people like make the current exile system a ''wanted'' system and make a new exile system where exiled people can't pick stuff in the homeland but only the top leader can do it or it requires a guard vote

I like the addition of backgrounds

#10 Re: News » Update: Tunnel Light » 2020-05-02 08:31:12

Also I am glad we can put the bow on the quiver now, the quiver is pretty pointless it needs some improvements.

Like a unique sprite since all I see is a rag backpack

#11 Re: News » Update: Tunnel Light » 2020-05-02 08:29:22

REALLY NERFING POTATOS?????

Don't you remember how TRASH they were when they costed iron and back then both iron and water were easy to acquire

The food buff isn't enough because by gen 30 it's gone

I wish I had the knowledge to make a program to scan the colors of the objects in the images, to get an average color of a sample of say 100 images.

I'd take the RGB value of skin color, in this case #A85F3E, figure out an acceptable range (+/-) of values that keep the replacement value 'looking' similar, and then compare which average is closest.

Here's I'll compare some sample colors and see which look most similar here in chat text.

☻ This is skin color. #A85F3E
☻ Here is a sample color from a chocolate milk image. #C08562
☻ Here is a sample color from a mocha image. #965D31
☻ Here is a sample color from a chocolate image. #784837

None of these are quite it. But, to my eye, the colors of the mochas are closest.
And I just like saying Mocha. Mocha mocha mocha.
BRB gettin some coffee with a spoon of sugar and splash of milk. Wish I had some cocoa powder to add to it. Like a spoon of powder for hot chocolate.

Excuse me they are called brownies, do not mistake them for the dark chocolate people please

#13 Re: Main Forum » Blessings - There are curses but there are not yet blessings » 2020-05-02 08:23:14

In Decemebr 2018 Jason shot down the idea of blessing because he would NEVER add anything remotly magical to the game and that curses and the abillity to fucking respawn were some hard exceptions he had to make.

And he never added magical systems since

Oh wait...

#17 Re: Main Forum » Toxic is trying to steal accounts » 2020-04-24 07:10:24

He has multiple in game account other than that hash. Of course finding them for Jason won't be hard since he has them linked with the credit card

Excellent guide, antking.

Regarding flavors - coffee (black), chocolate (brown), vanilla (white), ginger (ginger).    So you need to be a delicious chocolate-flavored jungle person to harvest sugar cane.

Hahaha I remember coming with tasty race names when race restrictions were added, I think I went dark chocolate (black), brownie (brown), vanilla (white), ginger (ginger)

Jason please add "modern" content, like the walls you featured during the first scene of your One Hour One Life trailer. Add industrial machines so we can make for an example clothes in bulk. Asphalt roads, modern cars (like the ones featured in the trailer). Just so we have big projects to work on during the late game. I appreciate the new stacking it's really helpfull. And if you have a lot of trouble with the griefers just ban them.

You poor innocent youth

An example of helpful isolation (which is not a good as it once was due to various nerfs) is the solitary milkweed farm.    Find a spot within a reasonable walking distance of the village that has natural dirt and ponds.    Set-up a farming area and plant a lot of milkweed.   You will need a bowl or two and a hoe (or skewers).   If you have a steel hoe, consider using single scoop soil to get the most out of your dirt.   If you have a lot of dirt or limited tool availability, use three scoops to stretch your tools further.   When you have as much milkweed as you need, plant more seeds and leave the farm for the next person.

Since it is outside of town, you won't be bother much while working the farm, but other explorers will stumble upon it eventually, and should be able to appreciate the value of a dedicated milkweed farm.   You can leave some of the seed unwatered to encourage people to tend the farm, instead of just harvesting.

I used to do this, was pretty fun

Stackable hot rods and pipes would be nice.

#23 Re: Main Forum » Some ideas for improving cooperation (inside towns and between them) » 2020-04-01 17:11:43

I had an idea of something like a culture tree
All families (or hierachies if hierarchies ever get stable) start with basic skills

As time progresses they can unlock ''branches'' in that tree.
This way you can have families that specialize in different things animal husbandry, cloth making, metallurgy, etc. and at different depths ( like all families start with the abbility to proccess iron, later on they can unlock things like copper and zinc proccessing, new ores that make better tools and new technology, mines that are more productive etc.)

The idea is that a family/ hierarchy would choose where to specialize, not being pre determent and that the way you unlock new brances will be fun as well. Also they could know different nodes at a different depth.

The way you unlock new branches could be that by doing related activities enough times. Like if your people fish a lot you will unlock more things related to fishing (like renwable bait, better bait, more places to catch fish from, other fish types to catch, better chances to catch fish, eskimo clothes, other ways to cultivate and exploit the see's resources, ships, more things to do with fish, etc.)

Higher branches would be harder to unlock, just one man fishing could unlock some of the lower levels but you would need a lot of people fishing to unlock some of the hiegher tier branches. Encouraging team work and creating a scenrio where a family can't just blast through all of the nodes. This way players can shape how towns develope and bring something long needed, variety. Different families could have different tech tree directions and they could trade for tech that they can't get with other families.
