Annoying thing to me is as a bb I do my best to stay warm and out of the way of the forge, and mom doesn't bother to find me in the warm tiles nearby to where she left me.  Literally a few tiles from where I was put down.  And then no one else around feeds me cuz too many bbs... maybe a slightly higher Eve rate?  Esp for older players... More experienced players tend to like being Eves and then we can teach the newer players very easily since they are our kiddos..

#2 Re: Main Forum » 3 Suggestions and my experience with the game so far » 2018-11-17 06:46:21

I just came back after a couple weeks, and oh my gosh so much has changed.
I /VERY/ rarely was abandoned as a child, except at the influx of new players when I started due to a couple of YouTube channels.  A bit after that it was VERY rare.  I assume child abandonment will slow down again once the new players have learned the game more thoroughly.  After all, the more you are acclimated, the more you realize how important surviving kiddos are.  Some boys included, cuz they can REALLY get things done.

#3 Re: Main Forum » Help Setting up a Custom Server » 2018-11-17 06:29:13

I definitely love the idea of new players.  But the server I normally play on between stressful lives is now full of people due to some project designed to avoid new players, so now I can't find my stress-relief self-made town. sad

Yes, the point of Donkey Town is a punishment. You're not there to have fun, you're there to be alone with your thoughts and suffer like you made others suffer. If you want to play on server 1, then don't get sent to Donkey Town in the first place.

If a griefer you kill is lying about you before death in a very crowded area, it is definitely possible and likely you could be sent there while having good intentions.  Even if you are constantly yelling "This brat just killed someone."  It is bound to happen sooner or later if you have any interest in saving a town, which I am convinced is a big reason towns die off from griefers...

People don't want to go to donkey since the griefer and his/her identity isn't yet obviously a major problem that the town is extremely aware and vigilant of, but it is instead in the very beginning stages.  Griefers tend to kill several people before anyone cares.. "Oh ANOTHER person died, whodunnit? Oh there is this dude with a bloody knife calmly speaking and the suspicious lady who let all her babies die while sharpening blanks is yelling 'killer,' so it must be the guy!"
Honestly though, if you're dedicated to the game enough, you'll just tell people to think before cursing and get more than a little miffed.  People don't think in this game really, but hey nobody really thinks through their actions in real life either, albeit usually more minor than murder of course. hmm

I do agree that donkey shouldn't be fun though.  I would rather sit there innocent and miserable than let griefers rule the whole game.

My mother's name was Love Gaia.  I was Ben Gaia.  She spent her life having kiddos and planting carrots to help them thrive.  I was unhappy with the snow-laced graveyard of the town, so I made my own spot for my mama.  My niece was kind enough to help me by making paper and a pencil for me to write, and I'm very thankful to her.  Even tho she might've been the one who killed me (maybe not, I have a terrible memory on who is who)... I don't really blame her tho, the girl I killed definitely tried to make me look bad even tho she insulted the gifts I tried to give her saying there was a "garage sale", yelled at me when I took them back to give them to someone grateful and called me a thief (lol), said I was a liar when I said I was just giving them to someone who wanted them, and told me she usually just kills everyone.
I just wanted to give my stuff away since my main goal was to bury my ma, make a heartfelt post and go to bed.  Ya know, it woulda been easier for her to kill people with the pack and apron I tried to give her.  Or quickly grabbing the knife someone left next to me on purpose that I left for a good 5-8 seconds until I realized I was too pissed to ignore it. o.0 But nah staying naked when there's clothes everywhere and then calling the person who tries to clothe you a thief totally makes you more credible, right..?

As long as I wasn't cursed too many times unfairly though, I don't care.  Anyways this is the area that people are usually buried.  I thought it was better to save a semi-desert grave where my mama could rest comfortably.

I really feel bad for making this post sound so bitter.  I really just wanted a sweet post for once.  But nah someone has to troll me again when I'm just trying to be nice and clothe her naked self. tongue Oi.

Rest in peace Mama Gaia, at least I got rid of a self-proclaimed griefer in your honor if nothing else of note.

And people fed me by the way.  I thank y'all.  Sweethearts.  I knew I was a goner but all I had to lose was my life and I was so sick of that girl who thought she could just take something I was non biased in reserving for any trustworthy people I saw.  I was in that town two hours before this so I had no problem trying to guard things from people like her but she literally stalked me while i ate berries for less that three seconds.  Then ran up.  Was being very careful like usual but hey that's what kinda troll can just pop up without warning.  Even if you are on guard nothing is safe out of your arms.

I name all of the unnamed for a reason... most of the time, people who want to be recognized beg for a name.  I hope you're in donkey, and I'm so glad I named you before you started chasing me pathetically for ten minutes..  lol with a knife??  You think no one can see through your facade?  I did before you ever chased me with a knife, and if I didn't dare you to kill me in public multiple times, you would have been too chickenshit to do it smile
Good bye Jack lil gurlie, not even your kids will care you are gone~

And yes sure I'm bitter, I liked my life before you stole the knife I was guarding from people like you.  But hey my goal was attained.  You killed me only and no one fed you or believed your dumb lies because you are a petty thief who steals from people with good intentions smile

#8 Re: Main Forum » The Little Lenser that Could » 2018-10-27 05:30:04

PS you are MUCH more likely to get killed as a female.  Griefers tend to want to either make living practically impossible or destroy the family line altogether.  If you are a fertile female stay FAR away from people holding bows and arrows running around near you.  People with backpacked/aproned knives are usually ok but if you don't trust them stay a space away from them at least and keep your children away too.  One time I saw a lady with a knife coming towards me trying to stab me but I moved quickly, then later she was coming towards my young toddler daughter, and she knifed the air RIGHT after I saw her coming and sweeped my daughter into my arms.  My daughter didn't even notice someone was about to stab her and I had JUST saved her from death.  I took her far from that beeyotch. XP

#9 Re: Main Forum » The Little Lenser that Could » 2018-10-27 05:04:36

Alsoooo beware of pork, if you try to put it into pie it will not work (looks the same as mutton) and if a griefer puts pork in a bowl it is likely no one will touch that bowl for many many gens since pork tacos are incredibly annoying to make and are not worth the payoff at all.  A sidenote, do not raise pigs as it usually helps griefers and is rarely worth it unless you have some dedicated pork taco maker (seen one?  prob not bc it sucks and rewards you with a bowl you could've had already if someone hadn't raised pigs in the first place).

It sounds like yours was a bit of both! smile

Ahhh, thank you Q w Q ! This was a bit of a rush because I wanted to get everything down fresh off of my mind, hopefully i'll bring more fun stories should I run into another interesting situation again ^~^

And yeah, i'm super curious about if anyone from my line sees this! Especially when it comes to that killing bit because, looking through my lineage, it looks like people around my generation were killing each other, which I was afraid of after seeing two people just nonchalantly holding knives near the kiln for a bit while I was moseying on by to nab up some more plates ; v ;

It was definitely a mix experience though xD A total expectation shift, from me thinking about how i'm going to leave behind the best camp possible for a future Eve to being safe and cozy for a bit before going back into full gear cooking mode all over again :"3 It's nuts being so new to the game and yet your life has such a big importance / impact all the same xD Like, the weight of the world is on your shoulders and you're just holding a mutton going 'How tf do I make this into a pie right now 0 _ 0 ;;;' (Which is something I went through once we ran out of rabbits)

Tysm for the welcome and again, I can't wait to live out many more lives and experiences here <3

Believe me if you are capable of making pie already you are doing VERY well for three days.  Chances are your townsfolk were more "experienced" and you were showing them up.  XD  Rule of thumb, keep the farms alive, because without them you can do NOTHING.  Literally.  Compost?  No.  Feeding sheep?  No.  Getting sheep?  No.  Making advanced food?  No.  Without farms a civilization will die.  Esp since the kiddos and elders are encouraged to feast on berries.  No berries, no kiddos.  No kiddos, no new gens.  If you are an adult female make your kids take on the farms until older because you have more bars so you have time to do more advanced things, while the kiddos are relying on farm food anyways so might as well contribute.  It's a very easy formula once you think, but sadly you seem a MUCH faster learner than most. XD

LOL no you are not mental.  I have done this at work before, even.  On my break of course.  I know that feeling, when you are naming a baby and are like umm uhh what do I name this kid so that they love their name enough not to kill themself?  Sometimes people care about that kinda thing, even tho I play regardless if my mom names me a name typically for the opposite gender (bad idea, mommies, many people don't like to stick around with awful names). tongue  And it really pays off, I've found.  Had kiddos tell me they love their name and it makes me smile.

#13 Re: Main Forum » A Seasoned Suiciders Rant » 2018-10-27 03:45:38

Although I majorly disagree with your other arguments (males are more useful in every other way possible other than keeping the family line going unless if the female happens to be way more experienced than all of the males, or the males are griefing and therefore the female accomplishes more, and males keep a balanced society by keeping population booms at bay and working faster than they have to sit and tend to a singular, often doomed or about to run off without warning, often naughty little brat that drains your hunger)... I DO agree with one thing.  Mothers should let you leave if you want to and you are not vital to the society's survival.

Honestly it's the mother's fault, not Jason's.  He is just trying to make the game true to his vision, ONE hour ONE life.  I never suicide unless my mom is actively insulting me or all of the villagers are killing each other/stealing from each other.  If you want to leave your mom, you should get to if she has no real reason to make you stay.  But some moms are sociopaths, just like real life.  The thing about suicide babies that annoyed me the most was them IMMEDIATELY dying where they spawn even if it wrecks my forge or locks me in a sheep pen and kills me.  Suiciders with a tiny bit of courtesy are not nearly as bad but very few of those it seems.  Many seem happy to continuously jump when I try to put them somewhere else to die after they get bitten by a snake, but they keep running in front of my forge ofc.

I agree.  But hey, can't argue with longer yum bonuses smile

Btw Rush Tarr killed my sis and wrecked our line yesterday.  Right after she bragged about starting a sister town and I said we needed more females first to populate it...?  Stabbed me shortly after, right after I asked who tf killed my sis.  She thought she was so cool and I made sure to let her know how amazing she was for killing a total of two distracted players.

Not sure if you remember but I said "Hi Tarr" to you at one point. tongue

Twila Yi.
Almost positive I at least saw you.  We were born to twin eves and your ma tried to name you something kinda silly but inoffensive, right? Twila came from somethin kinda goofy and pretty sure i saw her name you while i was a toddler.

I'm going to try that this weekend. I've started suiciding a lot when I'm born as a boy, just because I like raising the kids a lot, but some of my best lives have been when I'm male, so I should probs give it a go more =P

Male lives and being an elderly lady are the best.  It's so fulfilling if you save the town from griefers and you don't have to try to kill them while you're popping out children.
I had one life where I was a girl... my mom put me down to stab someone.  She told a fertile lady to save me, but that lady then restabbed the girl who just got saved.  So three fertile women around me who all can't feed me because two are on cooldown and one is dying.  And I'm like thanks guys, I'm dead now.

#20 Re: Main Forum » A disconnect ban? » 2018-10-24 05:43:25

I wouldn't mind having to wait a minute to start a new life, since I usually take mini breaks between my lives anyway.  I don't suicide.  I mean unless a mom is seriously insulting me or obviously resenting me, complaining about my existence when I am born, yet still not abandoning me for some reason, I live my life the best I can.  Hell one time someone even was going to abandon me cuz I was a boy, then when I didn't run off but stood still she came back and said sorry baby lets try this.  When I grew up she told me she loved me and she was so sorry for having doubts at first.  I really felt no bitterness about it at all and was happy she decided I was worth it.  I wanted to prove myself to her, and I think I made her proud although her life was cut short.  If everyone had to wait like a minute between lives it wouldn't annoy players too much but it would keep the SAME constant suiciders from continuously being born and doing the same thing if a troll (running around you til one bar, saying f then dying a millisecond after right in front of the kiln).

#21 Re: Main Forum » Just Fooling Around » 2018-10-24 05:24:43

Also was born into "advanced" tutorial towns a couple times.  I found it VERY hard to find any raw mats that we very much needed, and died looking for them since the tiny farms had the only food. tongue

#22 Re: Main Forum » Just Fooling Around » 2018-10-24 05:21:04

Only life I have found worthwhile at all in tutorial town, was one where I worked quickly to break out but before I could, a girl came and chopped the pesky tree in my way.  I was very surprised, I mean how many did she have to go past to find someone?? Wow.  She told me shes been trying for many gens to reach a faraway city with a bell tower that was too far for us to even hope for in this life.  We dragged carts around, broke into a VERY elderly woman's tutorial, who then seemed to see no point in moving forward.  Chatted to her a brief time before she died, then went on and scavenged while bringing worthwhile tools and materials in our carts.  Not too much food around, and unlucky me got a glitchy bush that I couldnt harvest from and I knew I would starve since I was elderly.  Said farewell to my companion who was gray but not super old yet, and died.  She was super nice.  I hope she found the town she was looking for. smile  Can be hard to survive outside of those walls, but meeting other players in an area you normally wouldn't was a fun experience.

I remember you!  I appreciated the thought that someone besides me was upset at my (slightly) untimely death.

The girl with the crown took the bow, not sure what happened with that.

Did she find it where I left it?  Because I realized after I collapsed dramatically that I'd stumbled in from the east yelling that I'd left the bow to the west.  Because I have no sense of direction.   I blame the blood loss. smile

Funny thing is, we both seemed to have thought you said east.

We did get sheep!  Actually, I think we got sheep twice.  Sort of.  I was asked to go hunt one to bring back to the pen, so I went up to the pen to check it out first, only to realize there was a domestic mouflon roaming around right outside it having lambs.  It must have been in the pen, but one of the corners wasn't secure.  So I roped a lamb and brought it back, and fixed the pen.  As I told the guy who asked me to get the lamb, that was the easiest sheep hunt I've ever been on!  Too bad I didn't have as easy a time hunting the bear who killed my mom and sister.  Sigh.  One misclick and you're bear chow...

We had stew and pies, plenty of tools, and a couple of deep wells. Weiland Kato and I were hunting sheep when I starved. We found a dead sheep with a bow and arrow next to it, so possibly someone had beat us to it. I really wish I could carry on watching my village after I've died - would be nice to know if they got sheep.

Yes!  I found the sheep and brought it back!  By the time I died I also made shears, two knives, and had sheared six so someone could start on an apron (or better yet pads to combat the dumb bear). Yes unfortunately I forgot where the bow and arrow were because I was focused on the sheep, and we had a dramatic bear fiasco.
