The food values and pip loses are based on players with thousands of hours of playtime, and we wonder why this doesn't work.
Maybe increase the new player half pip loses for a longer time? You don't learn much in ten hours anyways.

Triple, new player should be given at least triple food bonus.
I played more than eight lifes today and felt so despair, only two roles dead for old age, others all adults death for starvation. None family can living longer than thirty generations.
In the farm, rows are barren, berry bushes are dark. And no matter you fill the kitchen with how many foods, it was empty fast. No clothes, hungry chases you, berry much no more a blame, for there are no food and you are starving nearly die.
New players want communication, my daughters eager to talk, but I am too busy to stand and say much with them, for the whole family is in bigger survival tension and I have to work hard saving my every sec for productivity works. It destroyed my emotional connection with my kids : (

Seem we are playing different game Spoon ? Engine or iron not always the problem , what I saw is in a medium village there is a newcomen pump well , and more than one engine was knocked at a private fence , and in a large city , more engines are knocked, with good lucky you can see truck and sportscar too in the same fence . Because the villages are dead so fast , there always someone would loot things to their expanding and developing west home . I remember the Love family one of the longest gens within months was dead , the new family members from 10k far west , ignored the long travel bored , still loot its fence knocked thing which of course include engines and kero .
Nowdays , what is the truth ? Make an engine ? No , loot one from east .
As every village can't survived more than four or five days , an abandon-loot recycles is worked well . And some high-tech master fam's good appetite for making one or two engines , as well as a truck or a sportscar , can be a good supplement to the recycles .
BTW Jason can u give us torch or lighter ? I just want to conveniently light my oven or kiln when I needed. To avoid starting a fire from drilling wood, I have to keep adding firewood making the fire never goes out, it really makes me tired.

Trading is not the only way of communicate and collaborate! As well as private property!

The basis of trade is private property, but in this game, what I see is a society that is close to communism, where people take what they need, work together, and use tools together, whether it's a cheaper basket, a bowl, or a rarer horse, or a more expensive engine, etc.
You might say that in the family unit, private property exists because property belongs to all family members, but it's ambiguous, it's a hint, but it's not very well implemented, because there's no long-term person or institution ,even if there are generations of leaders, competent or incompetent, to declare and preserve this privateness. (There are also private manifestations of individuals who seal off valuable supplies, such as delivery car and engines, but such people, usually do not get respect, at least I, in my opinion, they are pathetic, blocking the goods idle, so that future generations can only look out of the named-fence door but can not access and use it while the owner absence or unwilling to open the door. )

Yesterday, I was in a jungle family, and an unrelated foreigner came ride a horse with buckets of sulfurs, and he brought a piece of paper to communicate with us, but everyone stood there at a loss, and we didn't know what he was doing. All we saw is he kept picking up and putting down the paper which full of unread words over and over again. And, in order not to let the horse slip away, he had to ride the horse over and over again, making noise. The children became impatient, so they began to rob his barrel, and the women became impatient and began to rob his horse, and some people took up knives, regarded him as a griefer, and began to chase and want to kill him, until someone stepped forward to mediate, and people let him retrieve his empty carriage and leave.
He wanted to trade, but how sad it turned out.

What is his best practice? Instead of carrying supplies and waving peace letters through the crowd, he should quietly unloaded the supplies and then went around collecting and retrieving some of the supplies he wanted, such as rubber and sugarcane. In this way, did he trade? Yes he traded! Did he create chaos and vendetta? No!  Is the supplies he brought worth taking? I don't know, but I don't think it's a matter of quantity, and I think any quantity he can take is fair, no matter how little gifts he bring. Because in the extreme cases, we always help others without asking for anything in return! Helping each other is a great happy!

Don't you see Ohol as a more shared, just, and fraternal society than our real society? In my mind, it is the communist prospect that we have not yet realized.

Why do you want to pollute this game world with trading,  money, these inferior means of supplementation (due to private possession, distrust of others) ? Are you so unimaginative that you can only think that our real-world solutions are the best?

Maybe I'll pay someone to play it for 2 hours a day for a whole week and record it...

Cool idea, I will subcribe your video XD

fill biomes with graves, and let people starve walking trough it
make grave blocks with no way to get anywhere close to any of it, in the usable areas with water and good temperature

Really good point!

Productivity is a choice not a obiligation. How you guys so firmed you hold the truth, thats every your words need be pay attention to?
The biggest fact is our eaqual born into the game, why you think who's ignoring is a waste of your time, but you killed a adults' all remaining life is not the biggest waste of her/his life!

Just because she eat carrots not berries when you told her, then you called her a griefer?

#14 Re: Main Forum » I'm Drago An II and I do not trust anyone. » 2018-08-06 18:12:05

They are the worst person I've met, Sophie II and Marie II are twins, they both have backpack and weared themself full fur when some other villiagers still naked.
Marie II have two knifes in her backpack, then they plot to kill Ava, when Ava stand naked in berry farm holding her baby boy, Marie II come and stab her, Ava astonised and stand frozen she ask why,
"You griefer, you steal the pad!"  Marie II yelled the lie.
"It's not me" innocent Ava said.
"You are, I saw that" she talk in a firmly tone, but lie still lie.

Eventually, Sophie II and Marie II killed eight person without punished, they are Leya, Ava, Luna, Stockton, Joy II, Tim, Anne and Laura.
The tiny village died that day in generation 17, tears can't tell my sorrow.

A advantage villiage sometimes makes me feel nausea, bare land no green treees, so many stuffs scatter around in mess. Stone building are blocked the way and they looks ugly. I don't know why ppl do those wooden/stone floor, they looks stupid and so wired especially around farm as road.
I want to plant trees, fruit trees better, like apple.

#21 Re: Main Forum » Arthur Quest- keeping sister alive » 2018-08-01 13:49:05

Quest family's lucky you are there, the boim is not good enough, only four pond, in grassgreen wild food is limited. West have more ponds, but near to ice too cold, I even think making a sub-villiage  there will be good, especially one day the four ponds all dry.
