It also would be cool if eating poorly would make you sick or something. There would be no more excuse for eating only milk and meat pies.

I really wish jason nerfs foods so posts like these just cannot happen.

Of course your village wont die if you yum poorly (which you are doing) but you could as well turn that corn into milk and yum hundreds of times better.

I wish everyone was pro so Jason could make this game really hardcore with earthquakes events, plagues and so on. But the most people are noobs and it won't happen. Don't worry, I'll turn another corn into milk and drink it too. I will also turn another corn into popcorn, what a waste of milk, uhh!

I didn't read all but I just wanted to say that I wish there was a way to make a gate that only people with yum higher than 5 would pass. No noobs would eat our precious yum foods anymore.

I'm not sure if Jason reads forum during the weekend. I think it will be fixed on monday.

#756 Re: Main Forum » New Idea: Guard Dog » 2019-09-20 22:20:41

Make dogs that auto kill grieffers lol

#757 Re: Main Forum » New Idea: Guard Dog » 2019-09-20 20:26:55

Sry, but that sounds like another tool for grieffers. They would place it outside gates and you wouldn't be able to get rubber.

If you have coordinated griefing on Discord, why no coordinated arc-extension?

Say there are 4 fams left, and one is about to die out.  Run over there and help them.  Don't let them die.

I'm an expert player but when I see the town I live in is grieffed, especially by a smart grieffer then I'm like "fck this place, I'm out". Grieffing makes people lose motivation to work, so they just stay near a fire or in kitchen and do nothing constructive - that's another thing I hate, people not working. Grieffing and laziness are killing my will to play.

#759 Re: Main Forum » Reports of the Arc » 2019-09-19 20:03:41

Btw, I wonder how long an arc would last if it had no grieffers at all. I kinda feel like it's up to grieffers when we get an apocalypse.

#760 Re: Main Forum » Reports of the Arc » 2019-09-19 20:00:10

Personally I don't like the idea with opening eve window again nor eve tokens idea. Eves in that old arc would in most cases struggle with finding any milkweed anyway.

Would bump it waaaaaaaay up. Like say 24hours 100lives.

That would be too long, some people learn very fast. Basically new players should learn basics which are making fire, farming, cooking and smithing. Also telling new people about onetech.info is great idea since it opens the way to learning alone.

I would increase the time to 4 or 5 hours. 2 hours may be too little since often a mother has multiple new players and in most cases you can only effectively teach only one player at once.
Removing 5 lives thing also wouldn't be bad idea. Beginning towns are the hardest part especially if there are multiple new players. New players would lose their 5 lives in minutes if they were spawned in very beginning towns.

Grieffers would bless each other to get rid of curses.

Some would bless everyone just to get more more chance for kids. Actually there would be no point of not ussing bless token everytime you have one. You would bless everyone that doesn't seem to be noob. Blessing is just a bad idea.

#763 Re: Main Forum » Personal curses now last 7 days (was 2 days) » 2019-09-17 19:58:16

What if let's say you find 10 people that never curse other people? They don't know how cursing system wotks, they don't want to curse for any reason. Will grieffers be always safe of donkey town because of that 10 people? Will that 10 people give birth to grieffers more often than regular players that cursed out the grieffers?

When I was new to the game I thought that with enough curses I would go to donkey town permanently. I was like "I will never grief and get any curses". We had very little grieffing back then when donkey town was a thing.
Solution for grieffing is very simple. Hopefully we won't see this 1 day or less donkey town joke punishment. It should last for at least 3 days.

#766 Re: Main Forum » first and last post » 2019-09-14 16:58:08

Jason removed grieffing penalities and this is what happened. Current penality is no penality at all.

Don't be done with it. I'm pretty sure penalities will be back soon and grieffing will stop or lower to unnoticable amount. Just take a break.

"Content Change

Basket of bones no longer containable, because grave movement tracking rides with player, and isn't tracked when the baske passes through a cart or other container..."

Uh, cleaning town from bones may be painful

#768 Re: Main Forum » The arc ended again. » 2019-09-12 21:38:09

Adding replay thing could be also useful in analysing why families die out.
I heard there is some kind of replay but it's broken... I never tried it. It would be cool if you could download log data from previous arc and watch whole replay as spectator and see whole map and all things tongue

#769 Re: Main Forum » The arc ended again. » 2019-09-12 21:31:30

It's not the arc end conditions bad but greffers are. Grieffers feel safe, punishment is almost unnoticeable.
miskas' brilliant replacement for Donkeytown actually didn't work and made greffing more common. One grieffer can easily kill whole town and that happens very often. I think that's the reason apocalypses happen that often.
How to fight grieffers? IMO perfect system would be where we could watch replays from whole gameplay and report players directly from there. Something like cs go overwatch. It won't probably happen since it would be lots of coding to implement this.
For now I think we should come back to donkey town system and people that deserved going there should be there for at least 3 days. There is no workaround for grieffers other than punishing them.

#770 Re: Main Forum » Question: Property » 2019-09-08 11:53:29

It affects all alive related players I think, so you gotta grant access from time to time so new born family members get access too

#771 Re: Main Forum » Mom, I finished your tree. » 2019-09-04 18:37:01

Sad story.
Once I found a grieffer that destroyed kilns, I stabbed him. After that someone came and stabbed me back immediately for stabbing someone, he did it so fast I couldn't even explain why I did this. Sometimes life is tough :D

#772 Re: Main Forum » Special biomes too rare » 2019-09-03 19:34:37

Getting horse early is very helpful, tho if you can't find a desert you won't find a horse either big_smile

#773 Re: Main Forum » The Rift and this end condition are unbelievably toxic » 2019-09-03 03:06:18

They didn't succeed so why are you complaining. It's not end condition toxic but people are. People want reset because many of them enjoy playing in past engine pump towns more, in towns where you accutaly need to fight for surviving. To me the most enjoyable is when everyone in town is working, sadly many people stop working once they have food and engine pump

Two families left, both have multiple towns. Seems like none of them will ever die.
Well, oil could end one day but it won't happen any soon. I think apocalypse should happen when only two families left.

Edit: Or maybe it was because of PAX and longer eve window because of that? Families had more time to develop. Idk, I kinda want apocalypse

#775 Re: Main Forum » This game needs to really improve its anti-grief mechanics » 2019-09-02 15:56:49

I didn't know punishment is that low and I believe many people didn't know it either. Once they realize this we may see more grieffing than ever before.

At the beginning I thought area ban is fine, but now I don't like it. I wish people with some amount of curses were being sent to donkey town for at least 5 days. If it was up to me I would probably sent them to donkey town for 5 days if it was their first time and 20 days every next time.
Cursing strength would be useful too IMO to prevent some situations.
And also I'm for removing inter-family cursing.
