What if we didnt die in childbirth, but instead-- a movement speed debuff that affects you for a minute before your child is ready to be born. Make players wait a little longer before being born, so mothers would always have notice to get back to town. a minute wait time compared to other games is nothing. Yeah some new players might be confused and starve along the way, but we would have to start teaching women to always carry food in their backpack. I think it would make an interesting game mechanic.

Trailer park was my alltime favorite town, i remember coming across that qr code in person. The link is safe people, and good video morti, very informative

I personally like race restrictions, it gives me a chance to gather resources no one else can. What I don't like is that all the families are separate. Bring back megacities, let us live in unity.

#4 Re: Main Forum » Tree Farms should be a MUST. » 2021-03-30 23:38:36

personally i prefer the horizontal tree farms, its easier to see the branches. but youre a saint for the work you do <3

#5 Re: Main Forum » Post From Reddit » 2020-12-29 02:24:02

the bigger the family, the more people tend to roleplay. less work gets done because everyone has the same idea that someone else will do it, and suddenly the farms empty and there no food in the kitchen.

#6 Re: Main Forum » Appears global fitness going down... » 2020-06-08 02:47:12

i SID constantly so that prolly hurts fitness lmfao. ive been choosing specific towns to dedicate my lives to because they all die out so quickly. Sid babies are good for the community because they typically are making plans and building societies. on top of that, if you know youre going to be outside of town with your plans, itd be better to be born a male. it shouldnt affect gene score imo

#7 Re: Main Forum » Straw Poll Time! » 2020-06-07 07:43:42

my favs the ginger. they're the best for end game content, every town will help the gingers because oil is so precious. they are the ones incharge of the water essentially. ive noticed the blacks get griefed a lot as well, theres almost constantly someone with a knife in the kitchen trying to murder people

Serious question - should all new players spawn as sterile Eves until they are able to die of old age?

The tutorial teaches you how to make a fire and eat berries.   Creating a basic eve camp is pretty intuitive and you will learn a great deal just by experimenting.   It isn't as social as being born as a helpless infant, but it would significantly increase the basic skill level of new players by giving them the opportunity to build their own camp and learn the basics of survival.

Eve spawns would need to be changed around a bit to avoid problems, of course.   It might be nice if solo Eve could be a selectable option on the menu.  You could select to be born as a solo Eve and spawn very far away from active towns as a sterile Eve when you want to get back to basics for a while.

the idea of a sterile eve is definatly intriguing, but i feel like it should also have popups like the tutorial "you'll starve pretty quick without food' and then has the instructions on how to build a farm. a popup that teaches the basics of smithing. hell theres not even a breath in the tutorial of curse or leadership mechanics. i understand that a tutorial cant possibly teach everything but it should have more basics than put kindling on fire. they need to learn to yum before they even start i think

#10 Re: Main Forum » tutorial for the love of god » 2020-06-06 00:52:49

its getting to the point where people are starting to think why bother building when the town is guaranteed to not last through the night. no matter how many bears are killed, how much stew is made, how many feast tables are made, how many pies, the new players dont know how to yum and its starving us out, people are angry and griefing out of boredom because they know the town will be forgotten in a matter of hours.  i hope to god you can fix this jason

ive been getting so many new players as babies and like thats great. i love new players, but theres TOO MANY! you cant teach five kids at once how to yum. its hard to teach a single person how to yum while theyre starving. the tutorial needs to be updated and jason needs to take this issue seriously. towns are dying out as astronomical rates, and the new yum system is good, it works. but with the huge influx of new players, towns are being completly ravaged by berry munchers. you cant talk to someone whos starving and shoving an entire field of carrots into their face. im not saying the turorial would fix towns dying out, but at least give the new players a fighting chance. theres so much wonderful exploration at the end of the tutorial, but its not enough, and its HIDDEN! no new players find it on their own, and the ones that do, cant figure out what to do with it.  the game itself needs to advertise onetech. the game itself needs to teach players to yum. im fine with teaching a kid how to farm, but this is getting ridiculous

#12 Re: Main Forum » What is wrong with you, people? » 2020-06-05 22:39:40

honestly i've been going around and mass murdering bears and boars to help stop griefers, as well as making a SHIT TON of soup. while not the best food, it seems to last a while

#13 Re: Main Forum » Have a guess of what the new content might be. » 2020-06-04 20:23:44

matches, but theyll probably be family exclusive tbfh. hopfully a way to kill cows. no more baby pigs in backpacks.

aight, so theres two jungle families on the map right now and they have two different last names, and speak two different languages, what the hell did  jason doooooooooooo! theres a bigger town to the east, and a smaller one 1.3k to the west. almost directly horizontal to it. what gives?

I think I ran into you earlier today with the jungle people. We had a griefer in town, a ginger who stole a horse and kept taking our tools. We had a posse chasing her down and eventually she got off her horse and ran into a pie hut where she died in the door way. You asked what was going on and that this was your pie hut.

I'll try to remember this so I can find one in the future. When I'm playing a woman I love moving into little huts that are mostly self sustaining because its the one time when kids and grandkids actually stay and have a home life. New players are more likely to learn because there are less distractions.

HEY I REMEMBER YOU! yup that was me, that griefer ended up causing an all out race war between the blacks and browns, the browns died out and started their town somewhere else. a very nice person was helping me build that pie hut for four lives in a row, its was amazing. and that knife i looted from their body made bread for years to come

So, I got pissed off at the game and quit for a bit, but I'm back and I have a new goal. PIE HUTS FOR ALL! or at least, pie huts in towns i like lmfao. so the big reason for this, is that when the kitchen is full of pies, NOBODY FRICKEN COOKS, and we run out and the towns starving blah blah blah. ok. well. im makin lil huts on the outskirts of towns to store pies. ALSO shout out to anyone who has helped me with my pie huts so far, my last one was in the white town, that took over the ginger town mid update. My daughter helped me, with that one, and when i came back to the dead city i found my grave outside my pie hut, with a single pie laid on the tombstone. I was SO TOUCHED. dw, though, Before i make the pie huts I FLOOD the town with plates so im not depriving the town

MAYBE, if we had books this would work. Maybe to amp up this idea, a new skill could be added, ART! Takes up a tool slot, and you could make maybe colored pencils and add pictures to the book. (maybe you hold pencil and book in hand and click on the object you want to draw. I really like the idea of making libraries in game, but the issue often is that the pages get separated and carried away. people could still take books, but at least the pages would be in order. maybe when reading a book, the player could hit an arrow key to turn pages. people tend to think you're afk, when you're looking at one tech

I don´t know if it is true or not, but about a week ago while playing in Thinn town (the ginger town that lasted forever) I saw the engine and the pump valve both in property fences separatedly. I asked why was it that they were there (I was more surprised about them being separated tbh, it didn´t make any sense). What I got from two separated players ingame was that Jason Rohrer himself had made those property fences as character ingame and had forced the players to keep the engine and valve locked for protection. I would love if someone could confirm if this was true or false.

it SOUNDS like something he would do honestly. he keeps pushing us to take ownership of our property and he seems to be getting frustrated with the way we just simply share everything.

Maybe we pissed off Jason and thats why he's nerfing everything? Just for a moment put yourself in his shoes, you spend hours each week working on a game and no matter what you do, the community seems to be upset about it. I'd be pretty upset. Maybe he's trying to make the game so difficult to the point that only the hardcore players remain, leaving only the best. he WANTS us to be uncomfortable with these changes.

We have invoked his wrath, but maybe if we start playing by his rules, he will end the famine. Start trading, start stabbing eachother. he WANTS blood. he wants us to fight amongst ourselves for precious resources, he wants war, and he will continue to push us until his thirst is quenched. Maybe his next update will involve cannibalism to feed our people, when faced with starvation it may be what we turn to.

the ONLY time i ever /die, is when im born female and i was just looking at one tech for new recipes. its hard to learn new things when you are constantly shooting out babies hmm

#24 Re: Main Forum » Time Mr. Jason, is it really that time again? » 2020-04-07 18:55:04

im willing to bet that if watering cans were added, they'd probably waste water or something really stupid like that. but as for the rest of the suggestions i 100% agree. dead lambs take FOREVER to despawn, and ik we can use garbage pits, but that wastes a shovel use. maybe for the seed bag, we could make it out of two paper? like the little seed packs in stores. i think that'd be neat

SO, I've discovered my new favorite activity! Take a horse cart with rubber wheels, a bow, a flint chip, and an arrow. once you leave  your homelands, theres TONS of turkeys! you can bring back seven at a time if you take the rope off the bow ( and yew is everywhere so you can easily make a new one) AND you can wear one as a hat. now turkey HAS to be one of the most water efficient foods, because its FREE. and then guess what? YOU CAN MAKE TURKEY SOUP FOR ONLY ONE WATER. Ya'll probably already know this all but boy was my mind blown when I realized how many turkeys i could catch and how much food they actually provide. Its so much fun I stg.
