And why the hell are you yelling at people not to eat the last berry? You just want that bush to sit there with one berry for the rest of eternity? Where is your logic? If you don't take the last berry, you can't grow any new ones. You'll sit there with a single berry forever. I would probably murder you to, if you refused to sit and listen to reason, trying to force me to live in a society of bushes with only one berry.

No one attempted to reason with me, buddy, I was just murdered for saying it. Given as this is a game of sharing knowledge, I am still throughly pissed.

Now that I know this, wow, mega berry farm cities are throughly useless. Why the heck do people still keep making them? They're now as useless as any other plant you can grow, the only perk for berries was that they regenerated.

Yep. I was a fertile female, Jess, and died post-Cherry (who swore he'd come back and get me) of starvation. I made all three of those stews you would have found. Me and another woman made many of those pies and never got to cook them, because in the chaos, the fire had gone out. I tasked a guy to go and get material to make fire. The fire was almost lit when I had a baby. I hesitated, which I shouldn't have, to explain to the son I just popped out that I would starve if I picked him up right now, and didn't have time to run back to the food before I died.

I assume a similar fate befell the woman making pies with me.

Joke's on Cherry, he didn't get me.

The woman you linked to, whose last words were "Pads!", both me and another man were there at her death, desperately trying to grab the medical supplies in time. In sync we both screamed NO! It was very dramatic. One of the most entertaining short-form RPs I've been part of, I kinda don't hate griefers for that very reason.

The best way to learn is by playing. I also shadow-stalked on YouTube until I was just like 'screw it I want to actually play the game and not watch other people play it.' You don't have to know everything, or really anything at all. I learned a ton from being an Eve who failed to spawn successful children, and from being the only man surviving, because then I could tinker around without stress. It's okay to say you're new and ask for advice. I still don't know how to smith for sure (just haven't gotten around to trying it through the whole process, I know some pieces), but there are so many other ways to help out.

Don't stress. It's a game about teaching and learning as much as survival. Go play.

I had just picked up a bow and arrow for the first time, curious to see what I had to do to make it work. I spawned a child. I tried to put down the bow to feed him and he entered the square at the wrong moment. The townspeople all showed up to ask why, why had I killed my son, and I died of starvation, begging his corpse for forgiveness.

If I spawn into a larger town, I usually spend my life running around cleaning other people's shit up. Collecting dishes that have been abandoned away from the cook zone, etc. I often start milkweed farms and run around yelling at people to stop eating the last damn berry off a domestic bush. I have been yelled at for starting milkweed farms in berry mega-centres, where it would be JUST FINE to spend the dirt on milkweed if people wouldn't eat the damn last berry off the bush when there's 4 pots of stew and a dozen pies and half-completed tacos and so on and so forth... I got murdered once for telling someone to not eat the last berry. -_-

I also try to make aprons and backpacks for people if we're short on them, and other storage. I make a lot of carts, but I never make a cart if I can't take it all the way. If there's lots of clothing lying around, I try to make dye. I try to always have mismatched shoes if I can pull it off, but I don't prioritize footwear.

If I'm in a newer gen, I almost always end up collecting eggs and making omelettes. Unlike some assholes, I don't put flat rocks on the blacksmith's fire, or the only fire.

I roll with whatever roleplay I venture into or accidentally come up with, which means I've played a ton of archetypes, and I'll do whatever job I need to for that town/village/Eve start. Like seriously, if no one's cooking, whatever, I'll cook. I have been charged to be the medic, crowned royalty, given a knife to protect the village, told to slaughter sheep, feed sheep, find iron, whatever. I don't think I have a favorite job but I definitely have things I slip into doing if there isn't an obvious job that needs filling.

Ti

Yeah, it's 7 in the bowl, 8 on the bush.

Having picked actual berries recently, I can tell you it is a GRIND. What I would prefer would be the ability to load up a berry picking basket with say, multiple bowls worth of berries and then click on that with an empty bowl to fill the bowl. Then you can store baskets full of berries nearby the sheep and it's a bit more convenient.

Yet many times I've found myself in villages rich with food, and I am the last player, a guy or too old to have children, and I'm making food and no one ever spawns. And when there were childbearing women, someone came in and murdered kids and said some bull about how there wasn't enough food.

I let my kids decide if they want to live or die. They aren't actual children, they are other players. If they don't want to live in the situation they spawned into then they can suicide.

Yes, the only long term solution to a lack of knowledge is to educate. That's part of the whole point of this game.

Having a competent male player born early as an Eve is a huge boon, honestly. And if that guy ends up running the camp, well, he's not spawning in tons of new players so he can actually take time to mentor. There's a place for guys in game, so I don't hold with the 'kill all boys' strategy.

And honestly, I've seen so many Sally No Last Names because of Eves that don't name themselves first.

I've already been cursed as a baby and then abandoned purely because my mother wanted to "test the new update". Yeah...

Ducky wrote:

I was Steve Moon ... I accept your apology

Looks like trying to apologize was worth it after all.

There's room for learning in more than just the game. Apologizing, acknowledging your mistake, doing whatever you can to right the mistake, and then moving forward in life by being less shitty is the way. No one's perfect, mistakes were made. There's no backtrack button. However, there is a way to right this wrong.

If you respawn into the town, get a pig domesticated to finish Steve's untimely ended work.
