So I've been playing around on a local server I've made with the precompiled Awbz thing. But time still passes when the server is offline, which means that all my clothes and wheelbarrows decay while I'm away, which gets really annoying. I found this topic from a while ago, and it's been pretty helpful in manually removing transitions that I don't want. But I'm kind of a noob with this kind of technical stuff and I can't figure how to stop clothes from decaying. I can't find any transitions for the clothes decaying into rags, so I assume I'm either missing something or they've been handled completely differently than the wheelbarrows. I'm trying to do this manually, and I'm not using an editor or anything, so maybe that makes a difference?
Anyways, could someone give me any advice in figuring this out? Preferably as noob-friendly as possible lol. Thank you!
Also: if anyone knows any guides on how to host/rent a private server for OHOL, that'd be great. I'd like to play with my friends sometime and this game has pretty poor documentation.
Depends on the type of bear. I bet koalas are pretty easy.
Koalas aren't bears. Drop bears, on the other hand..
ok, i added a few things to my meme from before
(you probably saw it on the subreddit)
IMO, graveyards are a novelty. Sure, a couple of graves here or there are cool. They've got a story behind them, they look nice, and it just makes the whole village feel more like a family.
But more than five or so and the waste of resources just kinda outweighs the sentiment, and sometimes your town will expand enough that the graveyard starts to get in the way and actively harm you.
Unless you're going to make SURE the body you're burying is an elder you're probably burying kids that died at the age of 4 because they're too stupid to eat.
Also, seeing the age of someone who died would be neat. Unless it's old bones, because their body's probably rotted beyond recognition. Although, you can still see their name, so..
le griefing has arrived
Yeah, I know this made more sense before you needed a posse to kill someone.

Oh, crap. I was Ermias Pu. I wrote those notes when the last woman's hair just turned grey (a slightly darker shade of red, actually). Most people just killed themselves, but a woman told the last of us to make paper. We did, and the others wrote some random notes and promptly died. Since I was the last one left, and there was a stack of paper left, I wrote a quick summary of the situation and then died next to my notes. This was before the wipe, of course, and it's not there anymore, but I'm glad somebody found it before it was wiped.
early horses seem to get lost all the time, if I plan on getting horses for a mid level camp that has food production going, I get anywhere from 2-4 just because I know they will get lost. Also in an eve camp early resources are really close, if a horse cart is a gift from god as an eve, you probably picked a pretty bad spot. I'd almost rather start with one single clay bowl so you can plant berries instantly upon settling, than a single horse cart that will be rode into the sunset by someone that doesn't know running over a snake will take it out.
Are you replying to my post? I think so. Did you even read my post? I specifically said in it 'Try and find a town'. future said any item, and he (she?) never said how I had to play Eve. If I'm spawning as Eve, damnit, I'm gonna fly towards the belltown or any other town, populated or not. I don't really like making camps, tbh
PROPOSAL TEN: TUTORIAL TOWN
There should be a secret section of the tutorial where the player can stumble into an abandoned town.
Would allow players to sandbox better; learn how to use and interact things.
Tutorial should cover basic farming and wells.
You might not know, but the tutorial is actually one of many structures, all lined up N/S. They're all the same thing, and it's on the same server as everyone else is playing. I've had the bell ring, once, and it's shown the current belltower was 6.6 million
tiles away.
Anyways, I think this would be hard to implement, since players spawn in a random one of these tutorial structures, and, if there was to be an entire town included, they'd have to be either a whole lot farther apart, or there would be multiple outside of them/players would have to go on a scavenger hunt to find the only town. It just doesn't seem that plausible.
I think the tutorial should cover farming and wells, though. It'd make it a lot better.
dimpidy dimp and a bimpidy bimp,
and you mom's dimp is my next bimp!
i feel like that means something else
A horse and cart. Try and find a town, since I don't actually like playing eve like I'm supposed to
i have no idea
bumpidy bumpity bumpy-bump,
and a pump and a bump and a plump in your bum!
you bum with a bump is pumpity bump,
and dump you bum with a tum of bump!
i didn't consent to this
Its not worth it / will not happen
- its more likely that your family dies out before anyone finds it
- a wall around the village will block people that want to search for resources
- it takes a lot of time to build one and even more time to maintain one
Plus, if it's a stone wall (which it probably will be) a quick pickaxe will make the entire wall useless.

At the end of my life, some woman from my family was trying to kill all the gingers, but she was using a normal knife, not a sword. I think, at least. I was Cloudy Rain.
Aww I was your wife named berry! I only understood when you said Hi/I love you/Baby, but it didn't stop me from thinking you were sweet I taught all my kids how to say hi and ily in your language!
Oh, hi Berry! Didn't know you were her. I'm pretty glad I get to talk again. Before I met you, I gave put a rose into my backpack and swapped it with a baby ginger girl's one, using the /blush and /love emotes. I didn't really get much response, so I kind of forgot about it. Then she pops up when I'm a withering old man, showering me with roses and love, long after you and I become a couple. I felt pretty awkward, so I just took a rose, /love'd at her and hope she'd leave me alone. I hope we won't break up because of it.. right?
100% agree! Lot's of work to do!
The recent swords and language update is incredible though -- lot's of things likely to change.
Haha I think Jason might be making updates faster than than wiki can keep up.
I've hesitated on writing much on water because I'm not too experienced and I haven't seen that many threads on the current meta (and I'm actually not playing that much -- watching more than playing atm), and I had a hunch that the 40-tile spring placement was going to change.
However, I think it's probably important to get water, newcomen, and even oil guide asap because they're critical now, and there's plenty of old players who aren't familiar with kerosene tech or meta regarding the importance of rubber, etc.
Swords really destabilizes things -- interested to see how this plays out over a few days -- if swords stay, there's going to be meta that develops on this topic for sure.
Yeah, a week or two just isn't enough (sometimes) to write proper- or at least drafts- of every new piece of content in each update. I wouldn't stress about it though, this isn't a full-time job that expects perfection in everything. It's ok to be a few days or a week late. But, as things go, the sooner, the better.
i've also been hesitant about editing the water page: if not because I've had very little experience in writing wikis, but because of how big a change it would be. I'd pretty much have to rewrite the entire thing. I don't even know much about the new content and rules, since it's all new turf.
About the swords though, I want to at least butcher a town with one. I miss out on butter knives, so I'm not passing this up. Blood will be spilt.

I think a beginner's guide should cover the basics of being useful in every stage of a town. The basics of jobs like baking, shepherding, farming, and maybe smithing should be covered, but perhaps a guide for each of these, or just one big guide for all of them, to talk about them in more depth. Anyways, general meta, and why it's meta could be talked about. Things like F for food, not shearing all sheep, leaving a row of carrots to seed. I think a list of things not to do should be in the guide; property fences, picking all milkweed on fruiting, or on normal/flowering when there's no seeds.
Now that I read the guide, I feel like a few of these things could be done in their own guides. Hm.
Other pages, such as the Eve guide (like you said in your OP) need work. Especially the page covering Water, as it's become extremely inaccurate after the Pump Overhaul update. However, a lot of items from the past two or three updates are missing. Just looking at
the Sweet and Spicy page (https://onehouronelife.gamepedia.com/Version_213), almost all of the items listed in it don't have a page. I get that it can take time to write even a page for an update, but that update dropped more than a few weeks ago, and the few items included in it, that do have pages, don't have pictures or are just stubs. The Town Guide is incomplete, and a few guides don't exist, such as the City Guide, although I don't see much use for them just yet. I think a Newcomen Guide would be nice, though.
Anyways, I've come up with a bit of a list of things to do.
-Update outdated pages (Water,
-Clean up and improve/complete guides (Eve Guide, Beginner Guide, Town Guide)
-Create pages for items
-Pretty much just mash the 'random' button and see what you can do
It's a bit of a work in progress..
I hope this wasn't too much stupid nonsense.
Miased?!?! Woah there jason, watch your language. CHILDREN are on these forums. Please, show some dignity! I will never be able to get this cUrSeD word out of my mind for the next decade!
pick up at age 3????
I--
The bump doesn't go away on it's own, so the baby needs to take it off when they grow up.
I'd love to help update the wiki. Heaps of recent things are missing from it, like pretty much everything from the Sweet and Spicy update and updates after. It needs some attention, and I'd be more than happy to give it.
Clickbait. Nothing about murdering newts.

Winter could have exclusive foods, and maybe we'd have to actually hunt animals for food instead of because a baby poked all the bear caves. Greenhouses could be a thing, but they'd be expensive. Think of all that glass..
Anyways, it'd be nice to see some season and/or weather. Jason would have to draw the snow on everything, though, wouldn't he?

If you plan on having more wars, you have to fix PVP, right now it's very frustrating and akward because of the right click that makes you drop your weapon.
There is a possible solution to this:
Having weapons that you cant drop with right click and has a holster/container that you carry on you.
To drop the weapon you put it in holster/container then take it off and drop it
if you drop the weapon on the ground by dying or getting stabbed/shot etc it drops on the floor as weapon without holster and this weapon can be dropped with right click until you put it in a holster.
This would allow PVP to be a lot better and a real part of the game.
It would also get rid of stabbing someone when you want to put your knife down (or bow, whatever). A change I'd definitely welcome.
