I agree a default view of x1,5 woudl be better. Talking about "easy mode" is not to say it's bad or wrong, just to react about the stating than playing without mod would be "very hard mode".
I think Tea proposition is great, little more view and knowing your age in base game would be cool, but no needs for eagle 360° view and knowing the state of your fertile relative in the base game.

I play since april, never used the mod and i have really no problem. Yes sometimes a wolf come frome outscreen and kill me, but it's really really rare. Except that, you are able to do all quiet well. You are not as much effective as someone you use the mod, that's sure, but it's not "very hard mode". I think, without offend, than the pb come more likely from you than from the game. It's just like playing easy mode in a solo game and suddenly set normal or hard mode, you have troubles. When u start a game on hard mod you suck but after some time you get used to it, and if one day you play in normal or easy mode, you are : "wow, is that supposed to be so easy?"


For Gnomon :

- It can be played without mod, really
- You will be less efficient, especially when searching rare ressources or good spot
- I understand why you ask if there is not a x2 only mod, when u have more comfort it's really hard to go back to previous state, it's a reason i never even tried the mod, i would maybe not be able to stop using it or even restricting myself, aafterall when something is given why not using it ...???

I don't say babies unable to move for the first year is a bad idea, but to say it will make baby gestion harder is a joke if it come with slings, that's all. The question "should baby gestion be harder" could be discussed, but to me it seems obvious slings are not what jason want, he said it many times he wanted babies to be a full time investment, and that's is exactly the contrary if u can keep doing things while having a baby.
Maybe Jason will concede cause on forums people yell for slings. So to make babies unable to walk first year to make baby gestion greater investment, yes it could be "just like jason want, but why then add strings, who completely break and baby gestion in general and this specific adding ? Baby unable to walk make gestion harder cause you can't just say the baby "follow me" then do your stuff. If you can put him in a sling it just cancel the thing...

The nerf is ridiculous in comparison with the advantages given by slings or other way to carry babies, i'm not sure it is "just like Jason wants"

Irl societies who relied on nomadic or semi-nomadic way of life never went randomly in the wild. They had patterns. By exemple ethnographic and prehistoric studies on seasonnal mobilities show groups of people using different locations on a large territory all over the year. They move to designated place where they exploit ressources, they can by exemple have very hig mobility on some months in summer and forage, then go on a specific site in winter and rely on storage or specific exploitation during winter.

Of course in OHOL there are no seasons, but it could give some interest to a "nomadic" lifestyle to build several rudimentary settlements, and move in a determined (or not) order, from one to another. And if enough settlements, foods as berries, bananas in a settlement could come back during the time it would take to go in all the following settlement in the route.

And even, why not, have a more advanced settlement in a place not far from all the others, where we could come back when needed to make advanced craft who are more essential ?

Since the relase steam, i ask all my kids if they are new. If they say yes, i ask at which point. And then i say i will learn them that or that, i don't even ask if they want, and they never say "no fuck off".

To learn, i think it's very important to do yourself. If i'm very busy i will instead say them to look what i do, i will do steps slower, so they can see well what i use, then i will let them do.

But if i have time i prefer to lead them near materials, then explain them without doing it myself, usually not a global explaination but more like "we will need for compost bowl of berries and carrrot, and wheat" " first take an empty bowl", "fill it with berries", "six it's full" "now add a carrot", "here you have bowl with berry and carrot", etc... And between steps i say them to follow, i lead them to berry field, then carrot farm, etc, so they can remember where things are.

If i can (always time) i also give some tips, in this exemple where to make compost, the importance to always be sure farms can reproduce, etc/

It take far more time and it's not always effective, some people have real troubles with it, but, if i only show them by doing myself, i'm pretty sure they will come back to me at a point cause they forgot a step. If they do it themselves, they take time, but there is less misunderstanding. Also, maybe they don't know how to put things in bowl, how to combine, etc. If they only see you, they think "ok i got it", but understand steps is not always understand how to do steps.

Most of players are actually new. As an experienced player i am barely able to set a camp as an eve if all my babies are new, and it happen most of the time. And when i suceed i have no garantee at all a girl will stay alive to keep the family going. Maybe the amount of new players make baby spawn more frequent, but with experienced players it's not a pb as they help.

The real problem here is that no one is able to figure out what happen. It's just chaos. The result is famine, by use of all natural ressources in eve camp or bad management for more advanced settlements. It will stop when new people from steam will have learn or abandoned the game.

If personnaly you want to learn in this situation, you have i think two main possibilities. First do it the hard way, observation and ask help, will work far better in towns or at least settlements where food is secured, as an eve it's just impossible to take time to really teach, all the time i don't spend on kids and food i use it to make the craft necessary to progress.

The other possibility is that you look the basic crafts on https://onetech.info/ For an eve or starting settlement : basket, fire tools, fire, kiln, omelets, row, homemarker, how to farm berries and carrots, will be enough to help even a little as a gen 2 or three (depends how slowly the town go). Be aware it will not help you enough as an eve because you will lack an experience you can only have by playing many lives. For big towns you can check the different farms, compost, sheeps, pies, but i think it's more satisfying to figure it in game, and in a town you have more time, less urgency in general.

if you just aren't happy at all in the current situation, i suggest you come back in one month, by this time we will have done most of the job and it will be far easier to learn and with less famine more kids will be kept and will survive

Berries are the easiest food. If the berry farm is little and can't sustain the need of people, they will less likely set in. A little berry farm, mainly used for sheeps, force people to rely on other food. And lot of food have less water and soil use than berries, and don't take so much time for the amount of food it give , especially when you are adult with pies and stews.

Most of the time if there is a too big berry farm lot of people focus on it instead of other foods. A big berry farm increase the demand of berries, people will go to the easiest, huge berry farm encourage huge berry use.

I'm glad you made it Alfred. With all the girls dead, and most of men too, your life would have been boring at home, it's good you turned it into something intersting. Nephew disappeared just after you left us, so i tried to prepare our little settlement for newcomers before i died , who knows after all ?

The cities you saw, our settlement, and the city north east of it... All of that looks really close, we was able to travel many time between our settlement and the town north east, and if there are towns closer than Casino town maybe we can connect them. If i'm born in one of them and there is horses i will help for a map, it would be cool if one with informations on city locations was made.

Today as i and the other women had no girl but boys the sweet Golda dynasty ended, slowly.

The girls from town had only boys who made it, and for me it was only boys and no one made it. Suddenly it was only me, my old cousin iroh and men. But men of Golda town was working hard. As i became old we all stayed together even if doomed, working and chatting quietly till the end.
There was north of town an empty house and we started in a library to say our fate to newcomers and let something else than food or compost. John let us without a goodbye, bitten to death. Peace on him. I came second, near my friends. The kind of life you remember but just for good people, not for drama or specific events

I wonder if you are here, Tony, Benjamin, Peter, John. Are you forum users ? Have you enjoyed this life as i did ?

PS : mom you was nice too, with your CX expressions, quiet as this life.

I think people would become more selfish and not settle for anything else than the family they had in previous life. If you knew you can get right back to continue your library, you would spend as much time suiciding as it takes to get back and not stay to help other families in other conditions.

Maybe in the game logic guitar could be kept for later in the tech tree ? In the same kind of things is rhombe who could be made with ropes and bones or wood. Flutes and percussion instruments can be made with "easy" steps too. Flutes could be made in wood, bones or reeds, all things who are in game. Percussions could use animals skins, and wood.

Same here, since yesterday morning, three live, two with griefers, one with seed trick, one with bears and weapons... With the influx of new people i guess we can't only have the good guys.

But i must say this room looks like some efforts have been put in, all is well prepared, to annoy people is a serious task for this Tom.

It was not in the middle of the town, i only noticed it when it began to be seeds everywhere, and for the teleporter i think it was here before, not made on griefing purpose, but i'm not sure.

I didn't know it was possible to burn these seeds, thanks, will remember it for next time. However, once the machine is loaded i don't think it's a solution, the guy spam far faster seeds than you burn them.

For an adobe oven base teleporter i just looked on the wiki, didn't know it was possible to remove a base (never even asked myself), thx too for that.

I'm not really for the escalation of anti-griefing features, i think a griefer can always find his way. But if you (or someone else) have an idea about how to deal with a wall/pillar made teleporter, where is mw fruit,, i'm curious. I assume than burn them is not a solution in this case, cause you can't match the production of the griefer.

Also, is it not possible to do it with rabbits bones, who can't be removed ?

i was here. She was not the normal type at all and the village was really full of awful people.

If you care here is the full story about your mom : there was a baby teleporter. She made a milkweed plant in the middle and used the teleporter to spread hundreds of seeds while not moving, so her griefing was really more efficient. The villagers was too dumb to deal with. As i was young boy, before it began, i saw people doing things like steel reserves but there was not a single compost pile !!! I made three compost pile asap, i told everyone, no one cared and the farm stayed dead, even before the griefers.
Your mom started her griefing first, but no one saw. Soon a second griefer revealed, a girl who killed another (none of them was your mom, busily trying to destroy the village with seeds). This other girl, finally healed, decided to take the only knife, to chase the second griefer, then to kill her children (i'm not ever sure she was troll, she was dumb all the way -_-) who wanted her mom alive. We lost LOT of time, and seconds was seeds, really. I asked her the knife to kill your mom who was spreading seeds, no answers, finally i asked her to deal herself with her, she finally decided to chase your mom, lost her, then stabbed people with the same skin than your mom and said "oops". Finally she starved. Here i think "ok, i can finally take this ****** knife", but NO ! Needless to say than during all that time, no one except me care about soil (the piles will never be used except by me) or your mom and her seeds.

As the dumb girl die, a little girl take backpack. I say her i need it to deal with griefer. She only say "i will always survive" and run. After that your mom decided it was time to go on real business and started to kill people, wasn't possible to do anything, cause no weapon. I saw you be born, be named "poo", it was obvious you will not survive and trust me it was better to die than to live here...

Finally as she was the last girl, she had two other girls. She was not paying attention at them, so i took one and ran in woods, and give her food for the three first yo. Then i came back to town. Your mom was alone, all people dead in the middle of the endless milkweed mess. At first i didn't understand it was her, i done a stupid thing, i said " i saved a girl, we are ok !". She said, "where she is", i saw her name, i understood my big mistake. I lured her south (the girl was east) trying to starve her, but i don't think i did it. And the little girl maybe starved by herself.

So "poo", know your mom was a griefer and not even the roleplay type who find excuses, this one i can accept him, but the type who just use metagame tricks to piss off people. For the dying farm it was an awesome combination between bad villagers and two griefers (i almost forgot the one who just tried to kill someone..).

Really, the worst experienced i had so far

I would love to be able to witness what follow my death too, but the servers have troubles just with the amount of alive players, i think it would be a better suggestion when the lags and server capacity will not anymore be a deal. Actually it could just extend the pb.
