I was born into a thriving tribe with many kids and elders. My mother just threw me into baking, but I met a man who came back from his hunt. He had a bear skin with him, as I saw him place it, I asked how hard it was to hunt, and he offered to take me. I watched as he killed a bear, and he allowed me to skin it once he retrieved his arrows. As I carried the skin back with him, we ran into a bear extremely close to the village, and he took it out as if routine. I skinned this one as well, and he carried it back, remembering where his bow was, of course, for later retrieval. when he brought his bow back, he gave me his wolf hat, and told me "You can do anything you dream of, son." I thanked him. I thought of this man as my father, even though it isn't possible in the game, so a father figure, I suppose. My mother only baked for her entire lifetime in the tribe, guess that's all she knew. She never cared about my well being like my father. My father died while we were out again, killed off by old age or hunger, no idea. I took his bow and his backpack of arrows, and took them back with me, I retrieved his body later, bringing it back to the burial ground of my tribe. I never got to call him dad, or tell him I loved him. I wanted his legacy to live on, cause he did teach me to hunt, and is the reason i killed a bear for the first time, so i grabbed one of the village children and asked if he was interested in hunting. The boy didn't seem to thrilled by the idea, but he said sure. I brought him out, and couldn't find any bears left around. We searched for some time, and then I lost him. I panicked, thinking I lead that boy to his death. I got back to camp, hoping we weren't short on kids or people, we weren't, thank god. And the boy was home safe, he told me he ran right back as soon as he couldn't find me. I was relieved. I was pretty old by this point, where the boy was now going on regular hunts with me. I gave him the bow and quiver of arrows I had taken from my father. I told him to live the legacy on, and make me and my father proud, and he said he would do his best. not too long after I was close to death, I had watched an evil man who scavenged the village the whole time trying to find the materials for a bow and arrow, asking me a few times in my life where he could find the materials, shoot and kill my apprentice. It happened right in front of me, and I could do nothing, as my bow and arrows were on my son. I asked the man why, and soon after, he shot me dead. I pray he did not kill off that prospering village, it was one of the rare ones, doing good for themselves and providing for the future.
To my father, I love you. To my little apprentice, I'm sorry I wasn't able to save you. to my murderer, please change your ways. the game is meant to be built together, it is not a 2D TPS. |
