This game is awesome in a lot of ways, the whole 60 minutes to live a whole life is a very clever concept. I like how the crafting is complex, and relatively realistic while also being engaging and satisfying much like how most of the rest of the game is. I like most things about this game, however there are some problems. Some are small like how babies just magically pop out of women. I think that could be handled in more immersive ways, but I don't want to explain them here. I don't like how grizzly bears and wolves, seals and penguins cannot be used for food at all. I also don't see how it requires a steel knife to butcher a mouflon or sheep. I am sure the dev will add butchering all animals etc. as the game gets more work so that isn't a big deal. The biggest problem I have with this game is the community, or at least a seemingly small portion of it. You see, for some reason people find ways to grief pretty bad in this game. From eating all of your civs carrots(one guy ate at least 50 carrots one time) to downright taking the only bow that is on the ground and shooting every member of your civ. I don't like that your can't defend yourself in this game at all unless you have a bow, it is just dumb. there are stone axes, there are sharp rocks, why not let people use those and probably other items as well as weapons? Even if you have a bow the combat still is pretty shitty to say the least. It is really about who stands still first, since you can't actually shoot people if they are moving regardless of whether you click on them, which can be a godsend sometimes. If you are in conflict with another person with a bow that understands the bow mechanics it really just boils down to who gets hungry first. First one to get hungry is going to be forced to stand still or starve. To me it is just bad for gameplay, the bow mechanics and player combat are unimmersive and really give an unfair advantage to people who just want to get on a game and fuck up someones hard work. I like and play survival pvp games like Rust, Ark, RoK, 7 days to Die, etc. so I understand that griefing is widespread, hard to counter, and is always going to be part of multiplayer games to some degree. I just can't stand the griefing in this game though. Like I said I like and play many pvp survival games, I have had bases destroyed, days of work gone, it sucks, but I could have done something, and also to some degree I could prevent people from fucking up my progress by locking my shit up. In this game there is no way to stop someone from eating all of your carrots unless you happen to have a bow on hand, even if it is close, the person will have eaten most of your carrots. If a person comes right from the edge of the screen with a bow and your happen to be doing anything that requires you to stand still, you are dead in an instant. It goes beyond unfair, it is almost unplayable if anyone wants to make trouble for you. I think the idea of people fighting in this game is cool like all games that are multiplayer, it adds another dynamic to the game altogether. In the state that the combat mechanics and the rest of the game is in now I almost think there shouldn't be pvp. Let people use other items as melee weapons so I can kill carrot eaters with a stone axe, maybe make it so you can die from eating way too much, and for god's sake make the combat more reasonable than just clicking on an animal or player that is standing still. This game is really cool, the dev is a smart guy, and I think he has a lot of clever ideas, still I can't really play a game where every time I get to 25 either some fucker shoots me with a bow, or shit lick eats all of my food and there is basically nothing I can do about it. I can't recommend this game in its current state because it is most of the time no fun unless all you want to do is die and spawn in. The couple times you get lucky enough to have a full life or do anything that contributes to a civ at all is ruined by griefers. Maybe I am just being a little bitch, but I the griefing in this game really gets me. If the dev fixes the issues with player griefing I would very much recommend the game, if he fixes the other minor issues I mentioned I would recommend the game even more.
