Mr Jason

Since the lag issues have been fixed, I have really been able to enjoy the game. The concept is amazing, and I love the social dynamics that develop as well as the lessons I learned about family, heritage, sharing and cooperation. I'm enjoying figuring out the tech tree bit by bit over each life by experimenting and asking the people around me. This is a great game. Thanks for the experience.

I'd like to update my review a little. What I have said above is still valid, I think. However, one of the things that initially attracted me to the game was the idea of the constantly growing tech tree that you promised. That doesn't really seem to have materialized. As far as I can tell, there is a very limited tech tree which can easily be achieved in about 4 determined generations. After that it is just sitting around and stagnating as a civ. I thought the game would have infinite replayability as there would always be something new to aspire to. Instead I find myself bored by the experience of being born into a civ. There's nothing to do but tend the carrot farms and wait for the sweet euthanasia of old age. Or build a giant stone wall. I find myself suiciding if I spawn into a established settlement because the only challenge that is meaningful is actually establishing a settlement from scratch. The game needs something more to retain its playerbase. Maybe more tech. Or some kind of government system where one can try to rise to power over a settlement. Maybe wars or some other kind of competition between settlements would add a new dynamic to the game. Right now there is just you and your settlement in an empty void. Nobody to trade with or fight with or learn from.

In short, it is a great game. It just gets old pretty quickly.
