The game is obviously a work in progress, and although i enjoy most part of it, there are some aspects of it that made me leave it until I am able to properly play it again. What saddens me most is that my investment in this game, both emotional and economic, were immense. I'm a brazilian student, so a painful part of my salary was put into buying it. Besides, I liked it so much since I first heard about it. Therefore, here are some experiences and suggestions.
-Tonight I hat least 5 runs ruined by murderers (two of them, my own children.) And that was only tonight - it wasn't the first time, won't be the last, and something should be done about it. Mass murderers should get their own server. Weapons should be harder to make. Or break easily, like other much more useful tools. -Apocalyps es should be local, and or again, harder to trigger. I've seen players take pride in triggering many (5, precisely) of them in a row, and I might be whining a little bit over here, but to me it's a form of foul play just like murder. And a little bit of it would be fine, but it's gotten way out of hand.
(Here are some other minor suggestions:) The last update was fair enough, but a few things about it bother me. There was no need to make farming harder: it is a group task, but as stated above, group work isn't the strong suit of this playerbase yet. And another thing that makes group work harder is the character limit in the chat. A child around 8 years old should be able to form full sentences, but no. Sometimes you are 15, already having babies, and can't communicate properly yet. In such a fast-paced coop game, this is really important. I also feel Eves are still too unlucky. Obviously a bit of hardship is necessary, but some things are still too unbalanced. I have had more babies run off the moment they are born than not. And sometimes, it's the only option, or else you'll both die. The biomes are a part of that problem, since if you don't find a border between green and swamp biomes before your food meter empties, you have no way of thriving. And some areas lack the two, while others are way too empty (I even used to think I had lost connection and the objects had stopped spawning when I happened upon those.) And I don't think it's fair for only women to be able to have children. I have been abandoned many times just for being born a boy. BUT I don't see a way to work around that, so I'm fine with it. It just saddens me a bit every time I enter the site and the statistics for "lives lived" has skyrocketed while the ones for "lives lived beyond the age of 55," not really.
I don't want to sound too demanding, or put too much pressure into the developing process - I can't imagine beginning a project that big on my own - but that's what I feel bothers me the most. I still love the game, and don't plan on giving up on it.
I wish you all - especially the developer! - the best of luck in your endeavors, and in your one hour lives. |
