Another fine display of how the soul of indie games far outweigh the glitz and awe of AAA titles. For such a simple game and concept, One Hour One Life offers such a deep gameplay experience. I just spent the last hour playing as a female in a mildly successful tribe. My arrival was harolded, as I was the first daughter to be born of four children. As soon as I was old enough to hold things and feed myself, I dedicated myself to the task of watering and harvesting my tribes fields so that the rest might spend their time on other things to progress our little hovel. Around the 20 minute mark, I gave birth to my first daughter, whom I named Eliza. Soon to follow was her sister Amelia and her brother Ezra. With help from the others, which I didn't even have to ask for, my children reached Toddler status and set off in different directions to help the tribe. I rarely saw them as I resumed my tending of the fields. As the minutes continued to churn, I noticed more family members coming to the plots, helping to keep them watered and seeded. Soon, I wasn't needed at all.

In my twilight moments, I spend caring for the newborns that we kept warm around our fire. To my utmost pleasure, I saw Amelia and Ezra again, all grown up with fur clothing and backpacks, scurrying to and fro. I called out to them and they stopped to hear me say my farewells. I was proud of them. They had stayed with the family from birth, tending to important tasks, instead of taking precious resources and running off. Amelia wished me a peaceful death while Ezra tried to get me to eat something. But I wasn't going to take anymore food from these people which I cared for and cared about. No, my time was neigh. With my faithful children, whom I suckled and protected, on both sides of me, I finally gave in to the one enemy who had been after me since my own mother cradled me in her arms.

10 out of 10. Definitely going to play again.
