+1, I think Jason should be working more on base features than advanced tools, and this could be a step in the right direction big_smile

#153 Re: Main Forum » New sheep pen meta » 2018-09-26 02:32:36

What could the new sheep pen recipe be now?

(also, trash pits are still useful if you want to build a pen that lasts 5 minutes)

#154 Re: Main Forum » Mining for finite resources. » 2018-09-26 02:22:20

Flat rocks, clay, and regular rocks are common enough.  What we need though, is the ability to put boulders in horse carts.

#155 Re: Main Forum » New sheep pen meta » 2018-09-26 01:37:18

One suggestion I saw for fence pens was to make it so that you only needed to build a fence for every other tile, though I am not sure if this could be coded.

I am not so sure I am too supportive of this update, as although it does fix the whole pit pen meta, people will just counter that with graves or adobe.  I feel a foolproof way to stop this meta would be to make it so that sheep have the ability to go through graves, trash pits, as well as other solid objects they would realistically be able to "smooch around"

This way people would be forced to either build little homes for the sheep:) or build a nice, sturdy fence.  Also fences in general need to be fixed as I cannot tell you how easy it is to accidentally destroy a fence as a noob.

(Just make it so that you cannot take the shaft off of the fence)

#156 Re: Main Forum » New sheep pen meta » 2018-09-26 01:30:46

Nope, that's not happening, GIANT waste of clay.  What will be a thing is grave pens becoming even more popular, as they were already a thing when pit pens were viable.

#157 Re: Main Forum » Bowled Berries, will Jason ever fix this? » 2018-09-25 20:05:36

While I get why some people want this to stay, as it is convenient, in reality do we really want this bug to stay in forever, and be a part of the base game?  Because that's what will happen, if we don't fix it.  If this is really necessary for the yum bonuses though, than it's a problem with the yum bonus itself, not the bug fixing it.

Although this bug may be convenient, it shouldn't be overlooked because it is not game-breaking, and if people really like this perhaps certain foods should give more yum points, or a food preparation system be required late-game.

Whether or not it is convenient, it is definitely not something that should be a game feature, and should probably get fixed in the steam release along with (possibly) Sheep pens

#158 Re: Main Forum » Sheep pen/trash pit, counter intuitive for new players » 2018-09-25 19:59:31

Sheep pens and bowled berries (yum bonus) really need to be fixed though, as I feel that if they don't OHOL could turn into a game of exploitations, just like don't starve:(  and tear apart the structure of the game.

#159 Re: Main Forum » How often do you Murder? » 2018-09-25 19:57:41

Too be honest, sometimes I kill when I just don't like a village, cause I kind of feel like it, though I shouldn't.  But when I do it, I at least try to be a bit creative.  For example there was this one village that I disliked so instead of contributing, I made myself the WARMEST clothes possible, and in the middle of the desert placed a bear rug down and a Full fire in the middle, and brought any babies I could find to said tile, and fully clothed them.

However, there was this one time I was legit playing, and this noob came up to me asking how to make a lasso, when we didn't even have sheep!  I told them not to, as we don't need it, and they made it anyways!!!  So I brought the noob a far distance away, and told them there was a great village east (town was west) where they ran off and died.  It turns out they were the LAST GIRL, because when I came back there were only men besides one angry mother.

Even as a normal player, I do not regret abandoning this girl as they likely would not have taken care of their kids and only caused more chaos.

Soo. . . are we not going to celebrate?

#161 Re: Main Forum » The most hardcore item in game. » 2018-09-24 23:47:20

You know what's harder than all of these?  Making a railroad track that is actually Useful.

(In all seriousness, has this ever been done?)

#162 Re: Main Forum » Bowled Berries, will Jason ever fix this? » 2018-09-24 23:09:06

So why can't we put aberry on a plate?  or in a water bowl?  Or eat bowled carrots?  Point is, it is an unfair and stupid advantage.

#163 Re: Main Forum » Bowled Berries, will Jason ever fix this? » 2018-09-24 21:42:41

He does, though for some reason it has been left alone, I am just curious why, and almost think it could be deliberate or something?

For as long as the yum bonus has existed, bowled berries have acted as a different food than regular berries, thus giving one more to the yum bonus.  This means that you can put a berry in a bowl and eat it for one more hunger. (as many of you are aware)  Does Jason plan to fix this, or is he going to leave it in the game?

#166 Re: Main Forum » The most hardcore item in game. » 2018-09-24 21:23:23

It's only really the MOST hardcore of items because nobody keeps pigs, with pigs being more than useless, bad actually for there environment.  Newbs and Pros, if you're seeing this and want a challenge, do the same but with beans, please, or maybe just make a wolf crown:)

#167 Re: Main Forum » Can we change recipe for pine panel? » 2018-09-24 21:20:57

+1, though boulders should be able to be regained, or carried in a horse cart.

#168 Re: Main Forum » Popcorn and Domestic Saplings » 2018-09-24 21:10:57

That's OUTRAGEOUS!  If anything domestic saplings should be better than normal ones, not to mention that in an endgame city it would be impossible to make buttered bread without growing a sapling for EVERY butter bowl.  Jason, if you are reading this please fix it, and maybe make regular trees become skewer-able saplings at one point!

#169 Re: Main Forum » Meanwhile in donkey town » 2018-09-24 19:52:02

Weird glitch, also if you get bored there try to see how many eve spawns you can chain with old age, though based off of the look of you're profile you deserve it:)

Why does nobody ever use these items?  Firstly, popcorn.  EXTREMELY easy to make, and the only way to eat dried corn. (besides stew)  Although it only restores 1 hunger, that makes it amazing baby food, and it has 4 uses, allowing you to fill up you're yum bar very easily, with you getting, possibly 11 food from ONE BITE of popcorn with a high enough yum value.

Secondly, domestic saplings.  It is the fate of every village that they will eventually run out of skewers, or at least non-weak skewers as they make butter, which will eventually cause them to break.  Because of this, when I am going out sapling hunting and there are none in sight, when I do find one I will generally bring back 2 sapling cuttings, just to keep sure they don't out, but only ONCE in my entire game have I seen someone else do such.

One more thing, Sauerkraut.  Judging off of it's price and complexity for said food, I threw it off as worthless but apparently it was op at one point!  Can someone else tell me if this food is worth the time, or a complete waste?

#171 Re: Main Forum » Steam: I've decided to do it » 2018-09-24 19:31:06

Does this mean that you will stop updating for a little while?  I am willing to wait but just wondering.

Also, I disagree with turnipseed about the price, as I actually think it is a bit on the high side.

#172 Re: Main Forum » Ancient bonsai tree count » 2018-09-24 01:56:53

Am I wrong, or is it impossible to grow actual Yew Trees, despite how long it could take.

#174 Re: Main Forum » Simply Rain » 2018-09-24 01:52:38

I disagree, as rain would be made ugly by alternating biomes, while biomes would be improved by rain, they would not be ugly without it.

#175 Re: Main Forum » Simply Rain » 2018-09-24 01:18:17

Yes, it is.  Though Jason, with or without rain should expand the biomes, so that should not be too much of a problem.

Although it's been said many times before, biomes should be made around 10x bigger, and made so you can survive in all of them individually.
