Welcome back Jason!

I hope you had a nice time to spend with your family.
Maybe this game makes your realize you only have 1 life to spend with them wink

#5 Re: Main Forum » Morti, how are you? » 2022-01-12 22:50:33

Hey Morti,

We never interacted directly, I think, but I've been reading your posts a few years back.
With you being very interactive, and writing paragraph after paragraph (which not everybody could appriciate), it was hard to not know you.
We probably worked on some projects together in the past, considering the amount of hours we both put in this game wink.

But when I read this post, something in me told me to write something back. So here is your message from a complete stranger on the internet.

I hope you are doing well.

It looks like that when you played this game, you experienced the love and appriciation that is hard to get in the real world. And with the game dieing, the community, with that dedication, slowly disappears. Hell, sometimes I wonder why I still read messages here once in a while. I hope that you will find people around you that give you the same feeling you once got from playing the game. Be dedicated to work on projects in real life like you did in-game.

But mostly, love yourself.
Enjoy the short time you have on this planet.
There is only one "you".
No respawns.

Next time such a bug occurs, try to generate new cache files by deletinig cache.fcz files in your data folders.

When starting the game, they will be rebuild and that could have fixed the problem (in my case it did).

#7 Re: Main Forum » Halloween Event Conclusion » 2021-11-01 18:27:16

First I want to thank Jason for his work and effort into this event.
We had a blast solving it with the group on Discord.

Secondly I'd like to thank all the people who in some way or form helped with the riddle.
We couldn't have solved it without your help. Even the slightest contribution can make a huge difference!

Special thanks to Yikes, Risvh and Killian. They sacrified their in-game lives to get cursed for the good cause.

You can find all progress in this Google sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ … sp=sharing

All clues add together form a poem which leads to the location: (keep in mind there are still some speculations which might cause some minor errors)
Turn back now if feeling weak
No adventure for the meek
Gold and silver shall you seek
Start in land of eagle's beak

Deep in shire until today
Market new as morning's ray
Nottingham you eat yo(u)r fill
South from tavern on the hill

Deer in field will come play
Gentle paw has tucked away
Reservations from the west
Round the pond will lead you best

Someday soon you near the rusty mountain bypass lead to north
Rocky upwards carry forth
Stop at tree with double mark
Orange and black are hung from bark

Stones on hill to north-northwest
Wall has spot to sit and rest

Careful now you're almost through
309 on compass true
146 feet walk up hill
Close enough to feel the thrill

Double pine tree is quite rare
Peek behind and find it there
Rotting log leans on the back
Lift and look for something black

Rest for now, you won the race
Ancient treasure to embrace
And all the world in its right place

Hello everyone who wants to hear
You no longer have to fear
The game will no longer be haunted
The horseman collected all he wanted

With every head he got a clue
Then shared them with me and you
clue
We collected all the data really neat
And added it to a big Google Sheet

At first it didnt make much sense
but after a while, the decoding could commence
Soon words started to emerge
And we could start our big search

You see, Jason hid a cache somewhere
With the answer you could get there
It's a shame I live near Amsterdam
Becasue the riddle lead us to Nottingham

"Deer in field" became deerfield road
Then Pawtuckaway Park emerged, we cracked the code
Round (the) pond road came into view
North Mountain Bypass was there too!
(full riddle in second post for you)
map

As soon as the riddle did unravel
We needed a hero, ready to travel
We did all the work we could do from our home
This is where Chomp (discord name) started to roam

He walked the path that we laid out
The tree with double mark, he had to scout
tree
He found the wall with a spot to sit
Then used a compass for the last bit
wall

There he found a rare double pine
With a rotting log behind, it did allign
spot
He lifted it up, and found something black
It was done, time to turn back
box

Everybody involved awaited his return
What was in the cache? They wanted to learn
What was burried, deep in the ground?
This is where Chomp shared what he found
ancient treassure

This is the end. The trail is complete
But don't be sad, horseman is not obsolete
Follow the arrow, go to hell
Go collect some heads, may they serve you well!

If you don't like the game, just stop playing, please.

The dev put a lot of time and effort in this and many people are having fun.

#10 Re: Main Forum » Is water wet? » 2021-05-22 23:53:07

Wet is when a solid has water attached to it.

This means only solids can be wet.

Water is not a solid, but ice is.

Water can only be wet in its ice state.

#11 Re: Main Forum » How to make a private server? » 2021-04-23 16:53:48

I've had this problem before as well.

My solution was to just delete the files.
This will delete your world with everything in it.

I think it has to do with not gracefully shutting down the server.

Also, a full kerosene tank only has 1 use. After that it is no longer full.

(16 points, I'm disappointed)

I'd suggest there should be a way to opt-out of this feature in your settings.

I mean, some people like it, others don't. Let's give them their own preferences.

EDIT: Looks like we all think the same way

Me and my 10 friends on discord are not the same as "public", right?

So you think it is morally right for your 10 online friends to be able to play the game for free?

You think it's ok that Jason loses $200 because you want your 10 online "friends" to play his game for free?

You don't think he's worked hard for that money? It is his creation, his servers, his work, his job.

I'm not asking what is morally right, I'm asking what is allowed.

(In any case, these 10 friends also bought the game, some even more then once. No need to take the moral high ground here.)

#18 Re: Main Forum » Notice about account details shared publicly (account pools, twitter) » 2020-08-02 14:21:33

Quick and easy question:

Are other people allowed to play on my account when I enter the username and key for them?

(therefore not sharing my account details)

If not, why?

#19 Re: Main Forum » Best crops and setup for sprinklers? » 2020-07-21 10:23:44

Straight line and crop rotation.

Use one kind of crop each time you sprinkle and harvest.

This way you don't have problems with different growth times.

The only problem with this setup is that you have to harvest, which not many people seem to do.

some people just have fun being efficient or want their cities to last longer. I am sure you don't have a problem with that.
But sorry if you do have a problem with the other people that want all players to be efficient.
If someone doesn't let you do whatever you please just curse them.

You do you, we do us.

What I think Lava is refering to is the change in crude oil value.

With the new change the break even for a plow/sprinkler is about 1-3 tiles.

Yes, and also make some food stations on the way, and make sure they are stocked because maybe I will run out of food.

And please don't make too many corners, because that makes me all dizzy and stuff.

And when you are at it, also make some nice trees for shade.

Please add some fires on the way so my temperature doesn't drop.

#22 Re: Main Forum » Wheat The F » 2020-07-15 08:01:27

It is not a huge obstacle. You always carry a shovel when making a road.

But I agree it is an unforeseen side-effect of making farming crops consistent.

A wild version of this crop should fix this issue, if you consider this to be a problem.

It's more efficient to just let it be on the plant instead of harvesting the crops.

This is probably why there are no warehouses.

Should this behaviour be dis- or encouraged?

#24 Re: Main Forum » Real Talk About Gene Score » 2020-07-12 12:46:28

You should never be able to lose 12 points from playing eve while you only climb with 0.2 - 0.4.

Veterans get punished way too hard by new players dying early.
New players get a boost to their score by veterans playing, which makes there score an inaccurate display of their ability to survive.

For some reason the score starts at 30 when you start playing.
People at low ranks (with an average lifetime of around 11) still have a score of 21.

The best way to get rank 1 is buy a second account and keep on dying to other players.

#25 Re: Main Forum » Food Tutorial » 2020-07-07 21:26:22

I think part of the fun is discovering different kinds of food.

This is already done by the craving system, which will show you a food you want.
