Morti, how are you?

Dear Morti:

I wanted to reach to you to hear how you are doing.

Since I did any other less-public attempt to reach out to you were not successful, I hope to get a hold of you this way.

You can contact me on Discord, in case you feel more comfortable doing so.

Yours sincerely,

Kilian

Re: Morti, how are you?

Looks good.

Thank you Kilian, for your concern.
I am well, by my standards. I'm enjoying a very simple life, living in a camper in the woods. I like to think of it like I am experiencing the game, for myself, but...
real life just isn't so simple.

I am living on a piece of property that was featured in one of my posts, years ago here, where I was making fun of Minecraft, punching a tree, until my fist was bloody (with ketchup). My friend bought the property and they planned to cut down a lot of trees, but I talked them into saving a few, the one I punched, included.

I cared for the property all year, cleaning up the logs they cut up, stacking them into cords, and I burned the branches. I slept there a few times, day and night, and grew fond of the lot; it's about 2 acres.

I've really enjoyed being up close with nature, this last year, and in October, I moved onto the lot, into an old camper that was left there by a friend that the owner and I share.

I started clearing the wooded part of the lot, of "dead" trees, and, something changed; I realized, the trees are vital, to the health of the land. I, don't know how to explain it, I'm not an ecologist, but, I no longer want to burn the wood.

Being without the trees, for long, even breaks my heart.

We, humans... we, have so much to learn, about life on this world. The balance, of chemicals; the ways they are married to each other. People who know from experience, living closer to nature than I ever will, they see what I'm just beginning to see, but they don't know the details. Then there are those who know the science; the way photons are captured, the way electrons are shared to form molecules, and the way the matter works with energy, to come to life.

These two camps of people need to stay in touch, and inform the rest of the world just how intrinsically important these mechanics are to the existence of all beings, here, on Earth. Then, maybe, we can begin reproducing this, affect, this beauty, this clockwork dance of material, throughout the rest of the universe.

...

You asked about me.
Thank you, Kilian.
I love you.

Re: Morti, how are you?

Dear Morti,

Thank you for your heart-warming answer. I am happy to hear that you are doing well.

Living in nature, especially with all those restrictions since 2020, sounds like an ingenious way to enjoy life.

I hope that you stay well!

Yours sincerely,

Kilian

Re: Morti, how are you?

Hey Morti,

We never interacted directly, I think, but I've been reading your posts a few years back.
With you being very interactive, and writing paragraph after paragraph (which not everybody could appriciate), it was hard to not know you.
We probably worked on some projects together in the past, considering the amount of hours we both put in this game wink.

But when I read this post, something in me told me to write something back. So here is your message from a complete stranger on the internet.

I hope you are doing well.

It looks like that when you played this game, you experienced the love and appriciation that is hard to get in the real world. And with the game dieing, the community, with that dedication, slowly disappears. Hell, sometimes I wonder why I still read messages here once in a while. I hope that you will find people around you that give you the same feeling you once got from playing the game. Be dedicated to work on projects in real life like you did in-game.

But mostly, love yourself.
Enjoy the short time you have on this planet.
There is only one "you".
No respawns.

I love this; life.

I miss each of you, every one of you,
that I experienced this game with,

5 years ago; Spring 2018,

And ever since.

I am homeless
(more like permanent shelter structureless)
but, I am, pretty close to free, I think. smile
Of course, there are strings, there always are,
but...

But, but, but.

I love you, all.
I love living.
Michigan, is easy mode, this time of year.

wink

I love each of you.

Just checking in.

Love each other.
We're all the same Earth;
The most beautiful parts,
Of the most beautiful world,
We know to exist.

Kilian, karltown_veteran, Mr.XIX,
And everyone else,
Do great things with your lives.
Experience this world.

Amaze, and be amazed.

Love,
Morti

Re: Morti, how are you?

Hello, hello,
pretty humans. big_smile

My favorite community;
my online, families;
you rascally squirrels.

What have you been up to?
I, am living well, in Northeast Michigan,
on the shore of the Great Lake Huron,
in, and across, Alpena county.

It has been, a pleasant, game-like experience
for me. I don't know how else to put, what I
have been, and am, going through.
It's kind of like Henry David Thoreau's Walden
meets Blade Runner 2022.

The future, is lit. big_smile

Okay. Enough silliness.
You ALL better be enjoying life!
Here I am, struggling to scrape coins, to buy
time to talk to you and what are you doing?
Are you happy?
Is life, interesting??
???
Profit

<3

I love you, Jason.
I love, I do, each and every one of you.

Cheeky monkeys.
You little, crafty critters.

You be good to yourselves,
and one another.

I love you.

Hey?

Still here?

What's interesting in the game, these days?
I have ways to get on, via friends PCs,
but, I'm just too busy enjoying surviving real life.
I remember all the feelings, though, like when
you said you loved me.
When I responded with
"
I
LOVE
YOU
TOO
MA
"

I will always love you.
Nevermind Whitney Houston,
I, mean it. You, you will
always
be important to me,
each and every one of you.

????
Oh, do I miss when deserts were new.
Templocking, horse wrangling and,
cactus fruit farming.
?

Love, love, love.
All for you.

You beautiful creatures.

Take care,
Mathew Jon

(phone apps suck for sharing images
or I'd share a pic, or more, of myself,
or the beautiful sights I've seen ?)

Good enough.

I love you, Kilian.
I love you, all.

Hey! Ask me questions, if any of you are curious what I'm up to.
Mind you, this is a bulletin board, not instant messenger.
But if any of you are curious, about anything, I'll try to answer, but...
Obviously I don't respond very well, as is...

The 4 of you...
I've read your posts dozens of times.
I come back here to remember all of you,
as well as see what new folks are up to.
I love you all, and I really mean that.
I don't want to begin listing names; I will leave
important people out, because you were all important.

I want to say a few names, of people that, I know, had a big influence on me.

For starters
Jason Rohrer, for teaching me...
SO MUCH!
Your determination to try and please us,
along with yourself...
AND juggle a family life?
I will always love you, my brother.

Like any fan, I obviously watched, listened to and engaged with hundreds
of, products; traces, that you've left all across the internet. Not to mention
what has been left, about you and your work, by others.

Someday I will write a much more significant post, if not a book, about you,
from my perspective. I used you, as an example, of what kind, of man, I wish
I wish I could have made myself, or the world, could have helped make me.
I'm quite content with who I am; what output, emerged, from all my input.
Though, we can always be a little nicer, a little more interesting; a little happier,
with the puzzle we are leaving behind for the world to piece together,
for, as best a picture as it wants to make, of our existence.

Jason, every update... everything.
Thank you.
Thank you, for every key press; every click; for your input,
into each of our consciousnesses; our lives, our minds, our outputs.

You, are a Johnny Appleseed, of love, comfort and consideration.

You saved me, from a life of, what in retrospect, seems mediocre.
I'm trying, to pass on the favor to others, these days.
I'm trying to teach, but, the world needs a lot more than I can give.
I'm okay with my limitations... that's a lie. I want infinite reach,
for as long as conscious matter enjoys it's own company.

You were a good man and a great example, by my standards.
You will be, your whole life; my whole life.

I love you, Jason.

One more name: pein

My respect, pein.
You, were a good challenge.
I admired a lot of your work...
AN UNDERSTATEMENT
You worked hard, and I spotted you in the crowds of people,
time and time again. If I thought you were one of my kids,
I died, comfortable, knowing you, and others, but you,
you were there for our families.

Thank you.

You were always good to have as a Smith, a farmer, a tailor, or anything
Anything our families needed, you busted your ass.

Thank you, for keeping yourself, our families and me, alive, time and time again.

I love you guys.
I love you all.
I always will.

But! I'm in a bar right now, and this place has a few new faces.
I want to make more friends.

You all, have some of my heart.
