April Fool's Jason babies and headless characters from someone with a pumpkin for a head. Neither fit within the context of the game in any way.

If you don't like the game, just stop playing, please.
The dev put a lot of time and effort in this and many people are having fun.

Alright so "a lot of time and effort" while also saying this:
It's really hard to spend a week working on adding stuff to the game, and then find out that people don't really use it.
If it's not core, the truth is, they won't use it after a while.
In walking around the world as VOG, I can't remember the last time I saw a sports car. All those colors, and unique racing numbers per car. I spent so much time working on that and thinking about it and drawing it.

This is on top of mechanics that got undone, and some of us seemed to have anticipated that they would get undone like The Rift or tool slots. If you want to have a game where you don't end up with content like a sports car that doesn't get used often, why in the world would you spend your time on gimmicks, since they will end up *even less* used than a sports car? And if you want the sports car to get used more, why have a distracting gimmick like the Headless Horseman, that distracts experienced players away from doing kerosene, getting iron, and what helps with that process?

It's called an event. I didn't participate very much, but plenty of games do holiday events, and dare I say, some people had fun with it?
This constant complaining is super annoying. Get a hobby.

Minus a few hiccups at the start (being able to kill as horseman and being able to get multiple clues off the same person) it was a pretty cool little event and was nice seeing the community come together to put all the clues together.
The only real complaint I could have is that after the first night I wasn't really able to join in as any of the time I played I couldn't get horseman but that's not Jason's fault at all.
Overall, even without the little prize at the end it was a really well done little event. I recommend you stop being an old stick in the mud and let some folks have some fun.

Two Gimmicks One Year.
I don't know fug, I liked writing that phrase.
Two Gimmicks One Year.
I mean, that's short and snappy at least.

As I think you know fug, some players cursed over the headless horseman. I've previously suspected that they were doing so, because they felt threatened or they felt that their children were threatened. But also, players using the default client or Awbz mod couldn't see how the faces of the characters changed over a course of a life once they got beheaded. They couldn't see that in other players in the same villager. And what good were their emotes? Can't make facial expressions without a face.
You sit there and say "let some folks have some fun", as if I were ruining other people's fun by making some post on the forums. What exactly have I done other than write words on a page though? On the other hand you and others went around and made it so that other players didn't have certain abilities or certain opportunities in game. Sure does seem like such could ruin someone else's fun, especially with cursing.

I mean, I think it's kind of catchy.

Looking at the changelogs, it was classified as an update.

Which means nothing.

Why?

Why?
Because saying that a Halloween event wasn't a Halloween event because the code change went through as an "update" is obviously asinine?

You should expect more gimmicks and less real content....
OHOL is a dead game, not even a good update can reverse that.
Reasons:
Lack of player retainment, lying about content updates, a horrible tutorial, and a broken curse system, broken in game mechanics

In your own world, sure.
