Yep, this is the best solution. Some way to imprison people, (Can be used for good or bad, just like in real life) and some way to force people to stay alive(just like in real life). If the "griefer" wants to imprison a whole tribe(assuming that the tribe has all the tools to do that) then let him, he'd have to keep you alive and it could be entertaining. You want to regulate the game as little as possible I think.

Seems theres not many players on, that kinda sucks. The game had a huge surge of players there but they're slowly leaving... why?

#4 Re: Main Forum » Jason's Murder Problem Thread » 2018-04-17 01:37:41

Didn't read the whole thread so I'm unsure if this is has been suggested or not but if you want people to be able to police their own then give them a way to police. A prisoner pit built with a spade is not too hard and not too easy, when someone is murdered you can hear a scream so if rope is around then you can go and tie up the murderer(While they can't run or drop the knife) then place him in the pit.

You haven't given us the tools to imprison people and since death isn't a permanent solution anymore we need those tools.

Geez, I don’t think they did anything wrong, they didn’t cheat the game. It’s probably different when playing in the proper Timezone but in Victoria most of the time when I play I respawn in the same village, sometimes as an eve, but even when I die as an eve I normally respawn to my kid. This allows me to do what these guys did but just on a smaller scale and by myself. You’re all saying that using voice chat is cheating and ruining the spirit of the game but to me it’s more that the communication system in the game isn’t perfect yet. You should be able to communicate with sound, as that is what happens in real life, which is what the game is based off.

Ha, he can do whatever he wants to his game. It's his game. The apocalypse makes sense but itsb to easy at this point

is the server all bears still?

Yep, and how fucking dumb.
reasons:
-can't use clothes
-can't use backpack
-is that a bear or a human?
-is that a boy or a girl?
-is that a kid?
-is that person old?
-clicking behind people is now even harder

Good choice releasing off steam though, I can't refund my game easily. I wish I would have known the private servers don't require you to waste 25$.

You must be simple, if you paid with paypal you can easily dispute the transaction, didn't pay with paypal? You are simple!

Don't do this though, it's a fun game.

I think that our best chance is to wait and other week or so when there is actual buildings, if you can lock off the farm then you can control the population yourself, and you can also control them, if they don’t eat they die! Yes this plan will work, I just need to learn how to make a lock and key

Often enough, you will end up spawning back into the civ that you were in before. You can increase your odds by force closing the game until you respawn where you want to.

how often does this work? Like i thought there would be thousands of mothers

but unfortunately it is the mirror of the real life .. so we all have to deal with that (the ideots, the greifers, the murderer, the milkweeddestroyers, etc. ...).

it is realistic that way and the experiment about how a civilization grows is perfect.

In real life death is permanent, so execution works. In civilized societies you put people in jails. In the game right now you can go on killing sprees, then respawn and do it again.

Hmm, if they die, they have to start again and get a knife, that's pretty hard.

Sammoh, that will work in the end, supposedly, but we could do it faster. Hans you're right, i'd need the person who inherits motherhood to know everything about everything.

It doesn't matter if you start by digging up wild carrots and eating berry's, or if you start in a well developed civilization with more food than baskets. At some point there is going to be too many babies, too many mouths to feed and the colony will get wiped out.

This can happen from any number of things,
-Player empties ponds
-Player plants too much and uses the water on milkweed/berries
-Player has too many mouths, no food
-Player has people using resources on things already made, or not needed.

Despite all this and the constant wipes, I think our world is slowly advancing, soon we will have barns and building dedicated to a certain task, maybe even roads connecting settlements. After we have evolved enough maybe the civilizations will stop getting wiped out and it will be sustainable.

But I can't wait that long!

What we need is a leader!
Imagine if instead of running around like a dumb toddler eating all the food for 3 food bars and then running around looking for something to do we instead ask the clan leader what needs to be done! EFFICIENCY!

Here's my plan:
Spawn in one of those abandoned towns, I need it to be fairly advanced with a room that has a gate(can babies/toddlers open gates? if they can fuck) the farm would need to be filled with dry planted carrots, I also want a large amount of baskets with carrots in them, I could water the carrots then  make a large slow burning fire in the building with a gate. I bring some carrots in for me(would be great if there was plenty of clothes too) then when I had my first boy(kill the girls) I would ask "CAN YOU FARM Y OR N" if he can then he gets to live, I also ask for his name, because we need a way to identify them, anyway I send him farming but say he has to come back in 10 minutes or something and update me on how it's going. I have another boy, assign him a task, maybe hunting rabbits, another boy, he can skin and cook the rabitts, another boy, he can smith? Anyway before I've become too old to  breed I have a girl and explain her job, she will be the only girl other than me, and she will stay and become their leader, she can then assign jobs and make sure everything is running smoothly.

Will it work? What do you think? There is the problem of Eves running in with a baby in their arms, once one female gets out into society they breed until their locust babies eat and destroy everything... and also you need the girl to know the game well enough to lead.

#14 Re: Main Forum » [Suggestions] Core Concepts » 2018-03-12 05:34:15

Server by experience is a bad idea, the newbs will get taught by less people as time goes on these new players are learning and getting better.

I agree to the balance of resources, a man with a backpack can rid a land entirely of milkweeds,

Community communication is a problem, but I think it can be fixed with the ingame properties, maybe as our world develops we can get more complicated communities and we can say more words or even have a chatbox, with perhaps a way to write down notes. You could also solve most of the other problems if we can just communicate better.

I agree with your last 4 sugguestions

#15 Re: Main Forum » Continuity of Life » 2018-03-12 05:22:37

You just can't though, I agree I'd love to be able to create my own civilization and watch it build up and all that, but the thing is it's only one hour one life.. can't every change that.
