I'm done. So fucking frustrated with Jason's *fingers in ears* mentality.

A year ago this was my favorite game. When I wasn't playing it, I was thinking about ideas on what I could do next. I would watch Twisted videos at work. I'd scour the onetech tree to learn how to make more content.

Then the rift happened and I tried. I really did. It was so broken that, instead of frustrating myself continuously, I took a hiatus and instead continued to read the forums and watch Twisted to see when things would get better.

And they've only gotten worse.

Every now and then I'd play a few games but would be met with the same frustration. Now I can't go gather resources because I have the wrong skin color. Hmmm, preventing someone from doing specific activities because of your skin color.. oh, where have I heard about that before. Why does this sound so familiar??

Oh, but fuck, look at me now. I've written more than 20 words and am using multiple paragraphs. As Dodge had repeatedly said, "not reading that wall of text."

Maybe the real problem is people have reading comprehension issues on this forum? Perhaps, Dodge, you should spend some time away from this game and go take some classes to help your reading comprehension abilities. Surely, it couldn't be laziness that is preventing you from actually paying attention to what people are saying.

The drama in the forums and the shithole this game has turned into is just too much.

Good luck, Jason. I hope you figure out whatever it is you're trying to do with the game. Just don't waste too many people's time with shitty game-breaking updates, please?

Fug, Twisted, Slinky, always love reading what you have to say in the forums. I'm so sorry you are getting this frustrated with a game that you clearly love.

Time to find a different game that doesn't make me want to tear my hair out in anger.

I wasn't a Rohrer. I think one of my mom's twin was an Rohrer though, she named a kid Jason and said she had been waiting to do that forever.

I was Hope Roher!!! Omg I'm so glad I got to play with you!!

I dropped from a score of 45ish to 2.5 in about two lives (first one on server1 went to 7) Those lives were a constant flood babies. We might need to accept a higher eve rate with the eventually dieoff during resets. A lot of them were new players and being abandoned/seeing players abandoned isn't a very good impression (and it feels pretty aweful for us too... but I also know how keeping too many kids ends)

Weirdly, the third life back on BS2 had no kids at all. Maybe something weird with my mother being a twin?

Omg did you run away with Hope Roher?? Were you my bff???

I can tell you one thing. I will not be playing more of this game until I can see Jason actually taking input from his players (and not dumb features like lineages... Actual input and critique of EXISTING CONTENT).

If you seriously have your head so far up your ass you won't listen to the people that dedicate several hours per day playing with this game... why would I even bother playing?

Stop trying to create more ways to limit players. Stop introducing more mechanics until you fix what you currently have. Stop punishing new and moderately experienced players for trying to learn the game.

I have a few hundred hours on this game and yet still don't know how to do more advanced smithing. Why? Because when I'm born I end up either being female and useless after 14 yes old (worrying about how my dumb kids are affecting my future abilities to contribute to the game)... Or I'm a guy who has a free tool slot someone else needs, so I end up picking up random tools to get one specific job done for someone else. Waste of a life when I wanted to feed the town or build new structures.

TLDR: no matter where you're born, the game in it's current state all but guarantees a useless life. New players can't learn stuff and vets rarely accomplish anything meaningful

I know right now I'm able to see my mother and grandmother in this family tree:

But I do NOT see myself in my tree. Which I find strange..

Earlier today I played as Janaisia Dupuy and had zero babies, which I find as weird because it's the weekend and I would have thought people were playing?

I stayed fed and wore as much of the clothing as possible. Still no bbs. Any idea why this happened? It's what killed my family.

How many DING messages are you faced with currently?

Tool learning messages and new player messages, but that's it, right?

I still see a lot of ! at the edges of my screen (murder threats), though not as much as it used to be. It may not be an audible alert, but it is still more notifications being thrown at me that I may not truly need..

I can't remember exactly, but is it guaranteed that someone will be able to actually type out "I follow.." if their desired leader has a long name?

Can't this be changed into a /command instead to prevent this?

Someone needs to feed you while in this mode, you can't eat on your own.

If players decide not to use this, this mechanic will have absolutely zero effect on the game. It doesn't actually do anything except keep track of your relations with other people.

Players can't implement it themselves because communication in the game is super hard. Its primary value proposition is the ability to trust other people more. If this system was run by people, you'd also have to trust the very people that run the system.

....

Not all useful work is easy to notice, yes. There's no fairy that will reward best players with titles. Proving your worth would indeed be your own job. By convincing other people, showing off your skills, or killing opposition.

About Alec. Note that Alec's most important skill in this case was noticing that the town needs more milkweed. Collecting milkweed is easier. Alec would create several times more value if there were followers that could be given the job of milkweed collectors by someone with authority.

If this mechanic has zero effect on the game, why TF is it needed to begin with?? Just create a mod or something. Doing this means you can have people exile others just 'cause, which puts a target on them for griefers and/or people who think they legit are bad.

And if the expert players do stuff that tend to go unnoticed, how TF do you expect them to get followers to help them??

Hirearchies built on a foundation of knowledge or ability are not artificial.  The hierarchy of major league baseball players over minor league players, for example, is not artificial.  Teacher-student hierarchies are not artificial either.

Exactly.

Do hierarchies have to be an actual game mechanic??? Why can't they be implemented in a RP sense if people want? It's bad enough we have a forced game mechanic preventing players from obtaining resources.

Oh, and new walls SHOULD auto-orient themselves relative to ancient walls.  I'll make sure that's not a bug.

Is there a way we could have two types of stakes, one for auto orient, one for manual? Maybe using those not-straight branches that only get used for kindling? This way builders don't have to worry about a wall auto orienting if they are specifically trying to build it one way and not having it get messed up?

Okay, there's room at the top of the screen for a second home arrow.  I added one up there that points to the bell tower.  So you don't need to dig up your home arrow to see the bell tower arrow.  You see both at the same time.

Woohoo!!

It's an oversight on his part three soil pile tilling is only supposed to be for the arctic biome and not all other biomes..

3 pile is supposed to be arctic only as a compromise to perfect tilling in the snow.

2 is supposed to be the normal for farming hence why he removed three piles (as these were noob traps)

1 is supposed to be normal for saving soil instead of iron (rift like situation).

Ahh - ok. Nvm then smile thanks for the explanation!

Hey - just downloaded your mod and am having a really difficult time not being able to use left/right click.

I went to go change the keybind settings and am not sure if something's wrong on my end, or if this is how it should look...

Why can't I see what each one is so I can change them?

Edit: I tried to play again and now I can't see any players. I think I'll uninstall for now, I guess..

The new updates ready have so much restrictions on players now.. this would just be yet another layer of hassle to grind through every single life. Esp for those who play 5+ lives in a session...
