Every time i enter this game, i cant even stand to play for more than 1 hour, its been downhill since donkey town update.
I agree with you, I only play every once in awhile. Conflict is the only break from doing monotonous tasks over and over. I preferred it when things were more chaotic.
You're only worth what you can provide so jeopardize resources or get in the way and you're just another wolf to be shot, it's not personal. People seem very patient and forgiving if you're family rather than wolf.
A modern farmer IRL will still shoot you on the spot and have the law on his side if you're killing livestock.
In this game, I think using the term "law" is a little bit extra. It's not too difficult to avoid being killed, It's fun when people like you draw the line between productive and not. But is spending half your life trying to kill me anymore productive. I think people wanna kill me partially because hunting me is also fun for them, not because they necessarily care about some 2d objects.
Technically nothing in the game matters, You don't actually own anything so nothing can really be lost. Even if a town dies out, you can be born into another one. The only thing that matters is weather our experience was memorable.

So does Jason even look at this anymore? It seems pretty dead. I was thinking about using it but I feel like I'd be wasting my time because it seems neglected. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jason has only commented on one post in the past two months. I wonder if this is because he doesn't really value it anymore. Also, I'm sure that the stickied post by the old greg guy hasn't been updated for around three months. I'm fairly certain that Jason has said he wont let babies ride in carts, but I'm definitely certain that he's already fixed rabbit bones. So I'm going to assume this is dead, but my question is what came first? Did Jason stop using it because it wasn't very popular or productive? Or is it shamefully smaller than the forums because Jason doesn't use it as much?

Eh, I didn't really like the AI, it's pretty cool but they got old fast. Most of the time they just eat, sometimes making bows. The end result is just them just using resources poorly. I never spawned as Eve so I had to spend 3 mins chasing my AI mother around which was kinda irritating, even worse when they are babies cause they are relentless at following you. Kind of annoying to get so many AI babies that you know are useless, i spent the whole time hoping for a real person.
Personally I'd start as an eve in a fresh world with resources I can use to actually build a town. I am interested if the AI can do more stuff once you have a town. If they did stuff stuff like keeping fires going, raising babies close to fires and farming that'd be cool. It has potential but it sucks.
I presume they means the content is clunky and over-saturated. To the point of reducing the challenge and cut throat nature of the original game. You wont find many people ready to stab you over trivial things in 2hol. Let alone a large enough community of centralized players to enable interesting interactions. The chaos and difficulty scale is what attracted me to ohol and what I presume others as well. In my experience 2hol is more of a creative mode. More content with less stakes involved.

I think he's just bitter and sad because his last 2 years of updates were a trainwreck and everyone but him saw it coming.
To top it off he's too stubborn to admit his mistakes, so the game is in limbo as a result.
In Jason's defense, he did end up with A multiplayer survival game of parenting and civilization building.
Is this game actually abandoned, what's the last we've heard of Jason. I see he trained a dog, I feel like all his uploads are actually a lowkey troll. Think about it, First he was moving house or some shit. Now he doesn't even use an excuse, just uploads lil snippets of him doing other shit and ignoring the playerbase.
The whole game was social experiment about rebuilding civilization, My theory is he stopped updating because the game is actually done. There's no content cause civilization has already been achieved, The end-game is pretty much present day civilization even if the technology isn't exactly the same.
2HOL has new content.
It also has more people playing during the past two days (at two points during those days at least), if not longer, with likely smaller family sizes than OHOL.
2HOL is fucking boring. 2 hours is way too long and shits just confusing.

Yeah but killing them isn't going to put them in their place. They say it because they want people to get mad and curse them. If you've spent 20 minutes trying to kill them, They have won. They won't be learning any life lessons and will probably be back to shooting out of peoples crouches spewing the gamer word. The only way they will get their comeuppance is mass cursing, let them grow up. More people will hate them and curse them instead of it being just you.
