If I live to 60, all of my family except one live to 60 or about there, I get around 0.6-0.8 every hour. One great grandchild lives to be a year old and they die, -1.0 for not taking care of it. This really needs to be changed. It's crazy because I'm being punished for their mistakes and carelessness.

In fact, I propose that they have "Genetic Fitness" AND another score called "Productivity Points". E.G making an engine would give you lots of productivity points, whereas stealing one would give you no productivity points, but if it saves your family from dying it might be the key to saving your gene score. This also stops griefers, because if they arent being productive, they wont gain much productivity score.

That idea is flawed. You have the ability to take things apart and reassemble them, which would make the system think you crafted it. Also I don't believe Jason's Engine currently has the required additions to pull this off.

Can you be more historically specific?

Has anyone ever chosen to have a girl or a boy in real life? This isn't about civilization dying off, this is about the fact that the sex variable is changed randomly. You can have a girl, but then have a boy next time, vice versa. So if you have like 5 boys and no girls, it's random chance and could happen IRL too.

This update truly ruined my experiences as an Eve. I cannot find any sort of food anywhere, and the mosquitos definitely 100% do not help! The whole food thing is my fault. I build a basket and search around for a good area to get started, but every time I search, I run into these black spots that are almost invisible on my screen...

I cannot survive as an EVE without any help.

This game is still 10/10 in my book and I enjoy playing it but good lord is it freakin difficult with the mosquitos.

This is true art, whoever made this needs to get paid for how good this is.

It would be nice, but two issues:

My guess it would make server bandwidth skyrocket as client/server instead of only telling each other but clicks and actual in game movement would have to tell each other about mouse movements. There is way more mousemove than clicking and even if you reduce it only to update each other to say once every 2 seconds it's still about double the bandwith.

Second issue, this is not going to be touchscreen friendly in case jason plans to bring out a mobile client in any future that play on the same servers.

Completely agree. If the servers or bandwith were upgraded, then I would be all in for eye movement. It would need constant mousemovement variables to be fired, and could be quite glitchy but would be super cool.

So, I was born into a monarchy with a queen that wasn't even in the correct lineage. They only became queen because all other members of the royal family had died. I was a guy though, so I couldn't become royal.

The story begins when I was born of course. When my mom was carrying me, I witnessed the new lineage being born of queens. They were literally like 5-8 years old and had no idea what they were doing. So of course, we had a hard time keeping everything in order. Yet as I always do, I'm the chef. I was the only chef, and they trusted me to keep them fed and I did a pretty good job at that alone. Making pies is a specialty but I can also make other food.

Only problem is that when she got older, she was a corrupt queen. She ordered men with weapons to attack those who talked bad of her or didn't do enough work. I felt a little bad for those who were new to the game. She came up to me, and gifted me a knife to cut sheep with. Sadly, that didn't last long. A few years (minutes) later a new member of the lineage came to me. Since I was old along with the queen, the new queen was born and gifted the crown once she was old enough.

So as I was cooking pies and stew, the new member of the lineage comes up to me. I was like 45 years old, since I died relatively old but not around 60. She told me that I was getting a new chef partner, I was pretty excited since I had to work hard to feed everyone. She started telling me that she wanted more stew and pies than usual since new members were being born. (Then that casual griefer spawns and brings a bear that ate 3 people)

When the new Chef came along, I wanted to get started on cooking right away. So I decided it would be best to ask him what  he specializes in cooking, or which food he would actually want to cook. He told me he doesn't know how to cook Stew so he would just cook pies. I was very unhappy, I was better at cooking pies than stew as well. But the queen told me to create Stew or else I would get stabbed for insubordination. Tbh, I was having a great time roleplaying. The bad news was that I only knew how making stew worked, not how to get the ingredients or how to farm the ingredients to make the stew.

The years went by and all we did was make pies and maybe a casual stew that some random person decided to make. But the queen noticed that we weren't making any stew, and yelled at ONLY ME for it. I said "I don't know how to get the ingredients" so she said "Follow me". I followed her beyond the village and one of her guards followed her. She told me to take off my apron and chef hat for "Respect" and then proceeded to stab me. I was like what the heck! I was the only good cook in the kitchen and I was the one who got stabbed just because I didn't know how to gather ingredients?? I also checked my family tree and found out the other cook had survived til age 58 which makes 0 sense.

I still need to find out how to make stew... sad

Keep an eye on your baby then, simple enough. Some babies that I have go and taunt bears but that's just for science, plus just stack up on arrows.

But you gotta think, just imagine if you were a mother and you tried to have a baby, you might expect a girl but you'll get a boy instead. This could happen over and over again and it's just random chance. I think it adds some cool factors in the game, such as an eve finding an abandoned civilization and rebuilding it. Lack of girls is just one of the many ways this game is made realistic.

#10 Bug Discussion » Corrupted Files? » 2018-12-05 14:17:44

So I've tried a load of different ways to fix my files that keep on corrupting. Most of the files don't but if I extract the executable then it tells me some of the files are corrupted. Plus if I end up running the installer then it tells me "Archive likely corrupt" and "File cannot be read(something similar)" so the game runs but I'm afraid some of the objects are broken. Sadly, I've redownloaded the game over and over again plus I have tried all different fixes. Any way to fix the randomly corrupted files? I've been able to play the game before, but got a pc restart. Now it doesn't work!

Edit: I've just downloaded the Steam game, please delete this post or solve it. smile
