Yes yes yes a MILLION TIMES YES. Even though they’re super good I’m seeing people struggle with how long farms have to be for sprinklers to be super efficient and this is just amazing for compatibility

Not having played since the irrigation & plow update was added, I have a few questions:
1) Can picked produce be put on top of the pipes? If not, wouldn't this make actual farming of the plots really difficult?
2) If the plow runs only in a left/right direction, then why would this design be preferable to a straight line?
(I could maybe see the value in that first u bend, so that you could have two really long plow lines per one irrigation system.)

I suppose it could be marked as a small item container (that would only leave out squash off-hand) Though in principal having a bunch of stuff piled on the pipe would block water flow.

It’s really expensive but super worth it

That's 27 steel not counting curved pieces of the water track. This shows the exact kind of iron sink we needed BEFORE all the iron nerfs were pushed out in the first place.
Of course that's not even counting the steel required for the engine + pipe in the first place. As nice as the sprinkler system is that picture alone is 53 steel investment just to water 9 plots of land. I can't be the only one thinking that seems crazy.

It would be slightly less if he made it a bit more efficient and used one sprinkler for two instead one sprinkler for one plot

being able to sprinkle side plots, otherwise that is 2 to 3 pipes with no use. And why no plots between the first stretch of sprinklers and the second stretch below?
I'm fish, deal with it or don't, idgaf

Yeah, this is just a side-note this week, mostly for completeness. Not because it's really really needed. Yes, the pipes do take up space, and no, stuff can't be piled on top.
And yes, I can imagine people using 1 u-bend to shorten the length of their farm into two long rows instead of one long row.
Fug, one engine can be moved around to do everything a village needs, right? So you don't need a whole extra engine just for the sprinkler. However, with how many uses a sprinkler has, the engine will get "stuck" there for a while.

Yes, allowing it to "contain" one or two items would be great.
There is enough space in one tile, so the stuff would not need to be on the pipe it could be top left / right.
Yea allowing the sprinkler to water top and bottom tile would be great!

I'm usually critical of updates, but I do recognize that the Green Revolution update is fine.
In any case, I ask you not to forget other phases of the game that are just as important and that also require evolution (for example, we have combustion engines and an irrigation system but we continue to cook in a fireplace)
I have resigned myself to viewing OHOL as a simulator of farmers and cooking recipes, but not everything should focus on agriculture
By the way Jason, have you considered dividing the squares in 2 (a large square and a reduced one) to place the pipes or to place objects even if the main square is occupied?
Good job Jason

He might not even be done with farming yet. Industrial compost, Harvesting and maybe even animal farming.
I think we could use a saw for beheading goose faster.

Having technology that forces these kinds of weird layouts might actually be a good thing, I think. It's more interesting for the village to look more like a bunch of tetris blocks and less like an unordered pile of workstations.
Having weirdly shaped things would also require supporting infrastructure. Like a road along the pipe.

This reminds me of how walls take up space. It seems that Jason didn't learn much from that issue.

main difference being that walls are less inheritly useful than irrigation pipes.
They are much cheaper too.

animal activists want to know your location
using saw to behead a goose trust me, it would take way more time, you remind me of Hannibal Lecter and his new friend who played violin on someone's neck
butchers use circular saws on frozen meat but kinda funny how you want using a saw on goose instead of speeding up it's animation

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.
