nah, actually corners useful when you are locked in
some people fix fences anyway even if that locks yu inside
and then the siege is a bit more interestign when they need to come out each 2 hours at least to fix some corners
ideally you got only 4 corners anyway
in rift, generally 1-2

What fences still need:

- if you repair one fence, all adjacent fences will also be repaired, could even be so it repairs fences up to 3 tiles away
  (this would fix the corner problem and would make it much easier to repair fences in general, which is a boring job to do)

- "MY FAMILY OWNS THIS" gives ownership to the gate to your whole family, if a new player gets born to your family, he/she will automatically have access to the gate.
  (this would make it much easier to maintain many gates around your village, allowing families to make more gates)

"MY FAMILY OWNS THIS" should only apply if the original owner decides to make it public since i can see that be easily griefed

Yes, I'm adding some gate ownership shortcuts before the update today.

Autorepair would suck if you were actually waiting for some nearby section of the fence to fall while trying to keep another section up, though maybe with elder removal, this is less of an issue?

I don't mind you needing to go outside the fence to repair the corner.  Take stock of your land now and again.

I do see that it's weird you can walk through a diagonal but not repair it.  This is a consequence of "diagonal walk-through" being added way back, but "diagonal crafting" still not working.

The reason diagonal crafting doesn't work is that it looks like crap.  The diagonal is way longer than then horizontal reach, and it just looks super-weird overall.

I will think about this, though.

Maybe you could "area of effect" on renewals? Like hitting a fence would propagate the hit to nearby fences (1 tile away should be enough).

I and others have said this before, but ownership needs more feedback. You can't easily tell when giving access to a gate was successful, and the person on the other end can't easily tell either. Mousing over a gate, you can't tell who or if anyone else owns it.

If there was a successful sound and the text was blue or something like how curses are purple that'd be good. Maybe the person that gets ownership gets a message with the new messaging system too.

Maybe instead of making it auto-repair you could give the repair action longer range(sort of like how the bow works without a line of sight requirement)? Corners can be pretty annoying to maintain.
