Town Ruins -> the map resets

The following are images of an old town i found.
This demonstrates the new map reset feature.
I would have preferred to find more than this.
Also i think it dosent reset correctly, look at the swamp image.

It looks like the trees cut down in the swamp didn't come back.

Re: Town Ruins -> the map resets

I believe it's a tile-by-tile reset over time, based on what I remember Jason saying. So it might not have fully reset by the time you got there (which would halt the process until it was 'unseen' again for long enough).

Yes, i think several families lived there, one was Blondin.

Yes, but not only the trees, also the tule reeds, it was very difficult to find them around the town.

I think the town wasnt seen for several days, i could only find stone walls there but no other signs of civilizations.
If it wasnt fuilly reset should i not have found some other left overs from a big town like this one?

Re: Town Ruins -> the map resets

Sets things to despawn super quick.

Proceeds to make it so it doesn't reset correctly anyways.

Sounds about right for a Jason fix.

Re: Town Ruins -> the map resets

Not sure, Whatever.

I've definitely tested it quite a bit, and everything comes back, unless there is a wall there.  Are you seeing a bunch of reed stumps around?  Or other evidence of stuff that didn't reset correctly?

There's also the possibility that someone walked through there, nearby, and reset the timer on just part of the area.  It's done on 100x100 blocks, all together.  So if there's a block boundary there, it's possible that stuff across the boundary has been "seen" more recently.

i could not find any signs of civilization, no reed stumps. Only stone walls.
I dident see any items inside the swamp, would there not be bowls or something laying around if it dident reset?

Could you make it so bell towers dont reset like stone walls?
They are hard to make and it would be nice to bring more people to an old town.

Could you make the reset time longer, maybe one week instead of 8 hours?
I would also like it if stone roads would not reset.

i know i just suggested some stuff, i am sorry but i like to do suggestions and i will get upset if you dont implement them smile

I originally though that with the monument list, bell towers were forever, not even just a map tile in the traditional sense once completed. Sadly, it's just a record.

Alternate idea, can Belltowers "lock" its 100x100 square, and the 8 squares surrounding it (9 total) from being affected by the map reset? This should be enough space to secure the town's buildings from decaying and prevent the local wilderness from being 100% reset.

Sadly this is not true anymore, i think currently, only the latest 2 bell towers actually exist.
They were created yesterday and today.

Re: Town Ruins -> the map resets

You guys understand the reason that the map is resetting at all, right?

To make room for a new Eve to have a greener pasture there, so a new civ can bootstrap there, so that you have a neighbor there in a place where the last neighbor died out.  Otherwise, we have to push Eve far away to find a greener pasture for her, which makes your neighbors too far away to interact with.

If you want to keep your town from decaying away, keep people alive there.

8 hours is quite a long time for a 100x100 area in the game to not be seen by any player.
