F For Food

It's basically part of the game to say F when needing food, All babies do it. Everyone knows what it means and such, but can anyone do some research for me, like dig up old posts, and find out when it all actually became accepted? I mean it can't have been obvious at first what 'F' meant.

Re: F For Food

As far as I remember "F" got picked up right away by different people at the same time when game was released. People tried to type F_O_O_D,  FO_OD or F_E_E_D, FE_ED depending on ammount of letters they had. Some of them tried spelling "HELP" or "MOTHER" but "F" came to mind to the most, especially looking at "Food meter". Thus, when people noticed first letter being "F" they started to assume Food/Feed and it spread far and wide.

Re: F For Food

As far as I know this is the earliest recorded instance of "F" for food, of course the game had been out a few days by then but still.

Re: F For Food

There should be more one & two letter acronyms for baby talk.

So far the ones that are recognised are:

H = hi / hello
F = food
T = thanks
Y/N to questions
N/E/S/W... people sometimes get it but not always, I guess most people don't expect the baby to start giving directions (for eg recovering your corpse & gear)

There was a brief period of time where forum users would use "Q" or sometimes "Z" as to mean "I'm from the forums / an experienced player"

I still use it sometimes when I see eves I recognize from here.

There's also "K" which is pretty obvious in any situation. I usually say that after I'm named bc some people still get butthurt when their babies are silent fsr.

Re: F For Food

I might start using that. Maybe some people will get it, and it could become a thing again

Re: F For Food

well it was always F and H
h as hungry but mostly F

h for hello became more spread when people tested babies for black speech or to signal your game has been loaded and at least say hi to your mother

'I C' is for 'i see', and a lot of people use 'K' for ok

there is a lot of simplification later on like 'mom wut do' xD

Wait... I always thought this meant F*** you. I always chose to starve babies who say this... It didn't even occur to me that it could mean something else XD

Is that what that means? I never understood it, haha but it makes 100% sense.
