Update: Fixes Continue

wqF1Fth.png

Still plowing through this list, with only 168 more to go:

https://github.com/jasonrohrer/OneLifeData7/issues

Some of the fixes this week involved quite a bit of new content, as I fleshed out the dye possibilities for knitted clothing and roses, and patched some gaps in hat decorations.  Over 135 new things, but most of them are the result of combinatorial explosion (red hats with blue roses and blue hats with red roses).  Regardless, there's a lot more visual variety in clothing now.

Tables are useful for storing a few things even when you're not feasting, way stones no longer block movement, grapes can be removed, and a bunch of things that weren't containable are now containable.  Rabbit holes can be dug up.  You can no longer dump fresh water back into a water source, so there's no more confusing situation where you gain or lose a unit of water by doing that.  Drunkenness has been refined a bit and clarified with a blushing emote.

The little photo icons in the family tree are back, for anyone starring in a photo.  A few cases of spurious tool learning have been fixed (you no longer learn the knife when taking it apart, for example).

And most exiting of all:  another cause of the bouncing-forever (wild bug appeared) has been found and fixed.  Hopefully, that's the last one (this mysterious issue has been lurking for more than a year now, it seems).

I gird my loins to plunge back into that list of 168 and make another dent next week.

Re: Update: Fixes Continue

The rose hats are ugly. Wish you'd put the flower part of the rose tucked in the corner of the hat, instead of just copy-pasting a rose sprite onto a hat sprite. Some of us care a great deal about fashion (aka me), so this is upsetting to some of us (still me).

Re: Update: Fixes Continue

also the "rabbit holes dug up" thing could be massively griefed.

Agreed. I'd get rid of that immediately

Re: Update: Fixes Continue

You cant kill the escaped rabbit so he makes his hole somewhere close.
I see no grief potential here since they can just move the rabbit not remove it.

Looking at the recipe it looks like digging just spooks the rabbit, it flees and makes another hole a little way off.

I love the rose and feather hats! big_smile Blue (and purple) roses are near and dear to my heart, when I return I can't wait to try out a black/blue or black/red combo! (Never liked killing cute cows lol)

We're getting closer to more secondary colours I feel it in my soul. ꈨຶꈨຶ

Re: Update: Fixes Continue

Well, the idea is that the stem is kinda woven in the band of the hat.  But yeah, it wouldn't have been too hard to "chop" off the rose stem when making these.

It's a little late now, though, because there are 85 unique hats that would need to be manually fixed!

Re: Update: Fixes Continue

The new hats look fine to me.  I saw some of 'karltown's' post on clothes, and I can't say that I agree with her taste.

Also, I don't anticipate that rabbits moving leads to griefing issues, other than shovel uses, but mass gravediggers already exist and aren't new.

We'll see how the update goes, but it looks like a step in the right direction at this point to me.

Sooo what you're saying is someone could manually edits all 85 hats and PR's that on GitHub to see it shift?

I don't think it looks "terrible" with the stem attached, but I do think without the stem might look better.....

Could it be made so the looks changes the next time all hats become = to zero (aka next time apocalypse is triggered?)

Re: Update: Fixes Continue

That's really lovely!
And the extra purpose on the table, that's always delicious.

Also Karltown, a matter of fixing your aesthetic displeasure would be to just make a master file containing all the hats of a type + the rose variant and saving and converting each combination with the right name.
It's not difficult, just monotone busywork. Repeat it for all hats.
You can release it as a mod later.

I could do it, but I'm on break on modding and when I return, I'll just resume work on the Candyland mod.

I believe the term "Berrymuncher" is derogatory and therefore I shall use the term "Berrier" instead.
