Good morning!

Well, that seems like it was an okay night.

The "too many families" failure condition was set to 23, and here we are in all these happy towns this morning, 11 hours later.

There are still some things to work out, of course, but getting much closer.

Re: Good morning!

I don't have exact numbers, but last night (at the 2-hour mark), I manually counted 14 families.

Re: Good morning!

The previous arc ended at approx 04:09 UTC (you can see the biome map (which isn't yet up to date with latest changes)) disappear at that time. At approx 06:07 (maybe I should make my own timeline so it can be wider for finer selection) I see

Dasher
Boots
Yellow
Jackel
Frazier
New
Summer
Tirella

That is just visual though, could be a lone lineage or two hiding in there.

There was a seemingly random error during the lifelog update last night and some old data got cached, but you can do a custom search from 'now' to get recent data.

Re: Good morning!

My last game was pretty good.
I did spend the around five years hitting every piece of fence with a round stone, which was a bit boring.

I think the biome update works pretty well, people can sort of decide which ressources they want to actively look for.

Re: Good morning!

This new map update seems like a huge improvement! I played a life last night for the first time since Friday, and I had a pleasant time! Resources seemed plentiful, aside from milkweed (Eis town only had one milkweed plant that I knew of). I was wondering if we were even in the rift at all. I spent my childhood years in disbelief, fed some sheep and reinforced their pen, then had 5 kids, was able to cloth them all, then spent my elder years gathering kindling and logs. Ended standing by the fire chatting with a nice young man.

I'm probably behind in updating the main post, and even then it's pretty terse. I guess the UI part is semi-stable for the moment. Yes, I know parts of it are kind of terrible; at present I'm just trying to keep up with Jason so we actually *have* a map, there is a lot of stuff I want to do, and then there is that data dump he kind of built just for me.

Leave a comment on the map post if you have a particular difficulty or a dying need (not that it helps with things you don't know are there). Real problems are more motivational than imagined problems.

Re: Good morning!

Oh my god, you guys have no idea how sweet the map time-lapse will be, if he ever gets it to work...

Re: Good morning!

What other data would be important to extract from the time lapse?

Re: Good morning!

you can count families in stdout txt

just copy out the part where the names are listed (generally there is an Eve, a Bob or a Hope to find it fast, just ctrl f and search for that)
then put in excel/google sheets and sort it
