It’s true that you can just “quit and start another life” after you’re griefed, no harm done, but most people don’t feel like that. Think back to when you were a newer player, not sure when that was. The first time you were griefed, did you just say “oh well” and get on with another life? You can’t honestly tell me you didn’t feel angry at all. Griefing is just going to discourage new players from playing, frustrate the older players and bring you a few minutes of satisfaction.

Not that I don’t feel like griefing sometimes. A few weeks ago, after being shot in my last life I decided to grief. I made a bow and showed up in the village but after the kindness my mother had shown me as a child I couldn’t do it. Instead I shot a goose and a mouflon with lamb. I died at age 25 by a rattle snake, by that time we had sheep and a file. Trust me, it feels much better to do something for your village rather than to grief.

#3 Re: Main Forum » Has healing been effective against murderers. » 2018-06-23 15:39:21

I dunno about murders because I’ve been lucky enough to not come across any yet, but there was a bear in this one town and since I had been preparing to be a doctor all my life we had swabs and needle and thread ready. Me and another guy patched up everyone except for one man because we ran out of swabs, meanwhile someone drove the bear west. It had been shot twice, and people went after it with arrows so I assume it was killed in the end.
Also I had a hog wound and was patched up in a different city. It wasn’t a very friendly city, in fact one lady told me that I was an idiot who was getting in her way when I tried to sterilize the dirty pads that SHE had dropped on the floor. But I will always be thankful to the town doctor.

A series of haikus:

Wife, you begged me, “No!”
Alas the love must end. My
Withered hands held death

I asked for murder
The bow tempted me, but you
Would not let me die

At last a short rang
And my hearty was soaked wet blood
“Im a lover now.”

“And forever not
A fighter” but my wife was
Deeply grieving me

If only you were
Older, your withered hands could
Have died by my side

THOT PATROL:

The white bar filled slowly on the dark field
A cry filled the air, another hungry mouth to feed
This one mine.. the odds, never in my favor
But twang! the string of death was plucked true
Then letters red with questions spill
In rivers of a Mothers Blood, Mine..

BEGONE THOT the bowman bellowed
His arrow spent his brother, my brother echoed out
THOT PATROL!!
A small baby crying at the feet of death and life together
Sings out a plaintive wail, "F"

Stockholm is a Cold city
She was a Thot they said
The cow says Moo but the baby says F
One letter at a time my silence echoed out compliance
But a men hears what they wants to hear
A vine of vengance planted in bloody soil
"F"

Little Hands can be busy too
Rows and Rows from wet to dry
Catechisms of the Guilty echoing their justice
Athena but not in wisdom armed
Vines planted in fertile soil may yet bear fruits
Blood of the Mother on the hand of the child
But Stockholm is a Cold city
And heavy is the hand of vengeance

The mouth is a gate that holds the tongue inside
The wise men bar the doors the night to sally with the golden dawn
Vines planted in fertile soil in time may yet bear fruits
But the young are always restless
Charging fore the break of day

Loose lips sink ships they say or something of the sort
But not all Men are wise to close the gates
Some are not meant for the cold

And twang! the string of death was plucked true
Then letters red with anger spill
In rivers of a Daughters Blood, Mine..

Rivers depleted can quickly be recreated if the vengeance wins over. I would have killed the bowman and his brother. Taste your own bastardly folly.
I enjoyed your poem. It gives a nice contrast to the other two. I truly believe this is turning into poetry slam, and I hope it does.

1) Small ponds that are different from goose ponds. They contain fish but no water sources you can collect. This could result in fishing. Fishing line could be rope plus metal fish hook (which can be smithed the same way as a shovel head.) And worms as bait? Maybe worm farms could be a thing? Also rope plus needle and thread equals net, which brings up sharks. Shark plus knife equals shark fin, shark fin plus crock plus water equals raw shark fin soup, plus hot coals is cooked sharkfin soup.

2) Bacon.

3) Marriage and rings. Gold nugget plus smithing hammer twice equals ring blank. Wolf ring, leaf ring, carrot ring. Maybe the person asked must have the words “I will marry you” still fresh above her head for the person asking to be able to slip a ring on their finger. Then it shows relationship as your husband and your wife. And men can have kids. But you can’t marry your mother, father or siblings.

4) Snakeskin boots have some resistance against snake bites over other shoes, but fur shoes have more resistance than bare feet.

5) You should be able to make more kinds of pies since there are more vegetables. Onion pie. Squash pie. Egg pie. All sound good.

Since this seems to be the poetry slam, I’ve wrote one about our Dicktown

Five guys
Without a care
Considering
No women
Anywhere

We stripped and prayed
To church of dick
A good thing the girls
Were not present
They would have moaned
And brayed
That dead lambs make them sick

O lambs!
You were our sons
And daughters
Dipped you in
The holy waters
Placed you by the graves
Our precious ones
O lambs!
Too bad
So sad
You tasted so much like hams

Steve
Hubby of Carl
And so my rival
Too bad you weren’t an eve
I’m sure you were nice
Jeez that sounds cold
As ice
I’m told
Good luck up there
You had nice hair

Carl
Love me love me
For eternity
In ending you
(This was far later)
I ended myself
Twas not an act of murder but of love
Though pierced you at first like an alligator
As most strong things do
I loved you
And you loved me too

Luna
My wife
The other
Lover
Of my life
I wish you could have lived
I needed you
But more the city
For your kiddy poos
You were also pretty.

I had to go
I asked to die
A man with a bow
Obliged
But struck another
Oh what tragedy
Yet comedy
Oh yes
Oh no.

So me and my love
I starved
He was killed
By me
For our love
Entwined
And free
In Dick Church
Our love was first tilled
And so it shall finish
I thank the lambs above

Oh
The other two
You were coo
Tanks for stripping
Your cloth
At the halftime show
I don’t remember
Much you know,
But your name
Did it start
With a U?

That was fun
It was enjoyed
Too bad it’s done
I’m unemployed

Sounds exciting
Fresh and new
Also frightening
Sticky glue

Which is a bit disappointing because for a minute I was excited that we would get new characters. The last time we got new characters I mocked all my ugly babies and told red afro girl baby she looked like a frog, and told Elvis dude baby he looked like a pervert.

If you go into the home menu and scroll down to the part that says progress report right now it says that the newest items are a wild boar and a suckling pig, and that there are twelve characters. I didn’t see any of this in the update log. I played the game today and didn’t see any of this. Is this what jason has made but not implemented? Is it what he plans to make? I’m confused.

Edit: Actually twelve characters are the number right now. My mistake.

Fellow dicks! Tis I, Tom- Creator of our church name, dick, (And of the “D” “I” “C” and “K” that I positioned on the church sign) lover of Carl, performer in the stripshow we held, (Ugonna, your peekaboo loincloth trick enticed us all) father of lambs, suggester of gender changes and widowed husband of Luna. (Don’t worry Carl, I loved you best.)

Us dicks fought hard.

Hahah Cole seemed like a funny creepy guy. I think I saw his sign in one of my comebacks. I believe it was Cole Town but I could be wrong. Did he wore a crown ? ‘Cause there was a crown in the town at some point.

Could you put a link to your lineage ? I know it’s Sol but it’ll be easier to find you.

http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … l_id=49505

It cut out after the 66th generation, but oh well... At least it's a cool number to end on.

Yeah, Cole wore the crown. It was passed down to Hawk and then to Rosie. No idea what happened after that.

To my girls: I love you all so much. You brought life back to my village. Hawk, I am SO SORRY I killed you. It was an accident. I was reaching for a hoe to dig into the unplowed ground, thought I'd switch the knife for the hoe, you were there, the game had a brainfart (or I had a brainfart) and suddenly I'd killed you. I'm sorry, dear, that you couldn't be around longer. Rosie has your crown. She loves you, and so do I smile.

Sparrow and Starling, I'm writing this right after my death so I don't know what will become of you but I hope you both live long happy lives and name your kids cool names, unlike my sucky name Honey.

To mom: Yep I lived he wasn't a griefer just mad at you because you didn't pull your weight or something. (?) Anyway he fed me through infancy and when I had to take a game break and he loved my girlies and made them pie. Sorry you couldn't be around longer. I love you, even though you called me Honey.

To my son Eagle: Cole killed you because he didn't like boys. Sorry about that, but you seemed to take it in stride and started talking about orgasms on your deathbed. smile You're a funny little man and I hope you get a chance to be reborn to the village, you would like it.

To Cole: You were a good guy but why did you have to go around flashing your knife and telling every baby I had that you'd killed my mom? (Don't get the wrong impression. He's a good guy. Just a bit off sometimes.)

To every non-Sol who looks at the family tree: No I am not a murderer. I wanted my last words to be "It was an accident killing Hawk btw" but I wasn't paying attention and starved while typing it out.

P.S. I was also Star. I played a part in the Sol migration to the town you guys are in, AKA I had the only babies to survive and continue the line. Ily Moon (mom).

P.P.S: The town is officially called ColeTown, on Cole's command. Or HoneyColeTown? Honcole Town? I'd be up for that.

gen 36 we were in a city, summer your moms sis was my grandma, check other topic
not sure, one lady went hunting, never seen again, was pretty old, was some cousin, not directly related so i could trace back
i think we died out in city, as samantha had only sons, and a daughter died somehow i never seen her

we didnt had a bell, i think, not fully sure, was enough work in city, never went to east or south too far, but my family line seems to be hanged by a thread, as great granny was killed pretty early, so prolly your mom was lost

anyway 41 seems to be the end

Well, luckily family lines don't end in cities. I'm sure the Sols are living wonderfully in a large bell town somewhere, and I'm excited to be reborn there again.

The last word of one of our last descendant is "Seeds?". That's means they are near a farm and asking other farmers about which row is the seed row. Now, maybe they stopped looking for the bell and made a camp but let's be optimistic. They probably made it to the town !

Yessss! Gj mom! We should be proud. smile

I was Star. My mom was Moon. We were born chasing a bell. My mom had one slice of pie left so I assumed she'd been running a while. She died when I was about eight, I continued without her.
I had three daughters and a son. The daughter and son I gave up were born when my other two daughters were babies or toddlers. Sorry I couldn't keep you.
My daughters were Luna and I forget. I left them both to separately follow the bell. I continued to follow until I was fifty and died to a wolf. I take it back babies, snakes aren't the most prominent danger.

I checked family trees( http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … l_id=49505 ) and found Luna had died. I'm not sure about my other one, still waiting to see.

My kids or mom, if you're reading, I love you all. Muah.
