Losing your babies

I seem to often not even notice I gave birth? I'm really trying to keep my eyes and ears open and if I'm a fertile woman I don't go travelling in the wild, but it still happens to me that someone comes to me with my child that I lost somewhere - "Hey, your baby" or that they just take care of it themselves and later I meet my kid somewhere and I know I didn't name them.

Or - I check out my family tree afterwards and there is a kid I don't remember.

To be fair, I've also taken care of kids that were not my own and returned babies to their mothers. My question is - how far away from you can your children spaw? Obviously I notice if it's right next to me. It's making me slightly paranoid.

Re: Losing your babies

I think it's mainly a question of network latency. The server will put the baby where it thinks you are. There could be:

- some network delay in the move message getting to the server (your client will start animating right away to make it look more responsive)
- the server is momentarily backed up on player messages
- some network delay in the birth message to you

The delay is noticeable sometimes when you bounce on an object for a second waiting for the server to determine what happened

Oh, it's not a me-problem it's a lag problem! That's kinda good to hear. Thanks. The bouncing has been happening a bit so I guess that's it.

never happend to me.... at least missing babies.... lag happens also only very few times.... so maybe there is a problem with your setup....
