Dry natural well sites and eve

One question, i started as eve and could only find dry natural well sites, even if searching with horse on the lines. is this natural?

What to do?

There was only one player nearby but she did not have children and just build a road from nowhere to nowhere....

One very basic well was there.

And how does this homeland function? Got homesick without ever creating a well site...

What direction were you moving? If you were going east you were doing it wrong, since you could find only occupied areas there. Here is Eve spawn pattern https://i.imgur.com/48HSIcX.png.

Also if you have no home you stil get homesick if you enter other family's area.

east and west and south where lot of ice, so if was going north since ice was not my biome with black...

so i get homesick when i leave other families home or when i enter it? and the free reign message means that there is no homeland or what?

and how can i see if the well is in use? there was only one female which did not get child's but i did.

You get homesick when leave your homeland -or- enter somebody else's. Eve (1st gen only) get free reign when they leave another's homeland. Anybody else who touches another's homeland gets their baby switch permanently turned off until they enter their own homeland.

and how can i see if the well is in use? there was only one female which did not get child's but i did.

Hover over it and see if says "boos family well" or "abandoned well"

Expected... good? eh.

Open up the funnel in lower right, data tab, Pick "Now", and "Show". Zoom out a little to see the main birth clusters. Circled points are eves - pretty much in the middle of the civilized area and spawning on top of one another. You'll likely have to run for a while to find fresh springs/iron spots.

oh yes, finally i saw now something if i put the time range some days back. i guess it show only some old data, since i could not find my last family.

if the round stuff are eves, then it really looks like a bug, just on top of each other in the middle....

Did some one report it on github? should I?

You collect 10 stones and put them in a natural spring. They become well site which allows you to take the iron from the sunken veins (4 apiece) that are exactly in the same ley line of your well (up to 160 tiles). Once you collect those normally 4/12 iron you can get steel to make hammer/shovel. With shovel you upgrade your well site to shallow well which makes the iron veins uncover to use the mining pick. This only works for your primary family well or second if you made a well site with no sunken veins in the same ley line. If you have sunken veins Not in the same line of your well  they won´t ever uncover with the well you used. Come on this is pretty intuitive.

lol yea super intuitive...

there was a well already, but i guess the sunken vain was on the next leylin north and east, so exactly diagonal. so i guess the first well did not activate it or? so i was searching for the next natural spring to activate it (must i seach only east and west or does north / south also work?) since the first well was not in the same line... but my time ran out... so i guess if the first well did not activate (two mines?) then finding the next iron and upgrading the next well site would have activated it?

Honestly this all is so much mess, maybe i just leave the iron stuff to vets...

Re: Dry natural well sites and eve

You can take abandoned wells but won´t get iron out of them afaik. Only east and west work. Next time just run west until you find untouched land.

Take water. Maybe run the pump for mechanicals. Look up "famuse" in onetech for the items that trigger it.

You can get iron out of sunken veins near your own family well with a diesel engine, a chisel and some kerosene.

Re: Dry natural well sites and eve

Hey, thanks Wondible. Helped me restart blacks with Eve family "Free". Actually looked up this post after navigating the wilderness with wondible map. We were trying to go from resource depleted wilderness to an abandoned town. Actually made it with a caravan of descendants.

Re: Dry natural well sites and eve

yea saw the road now on the map. someone changed the end to go into nirvana...

Its from SIKO to direction of the LORDS

What i wonder is, i thought stone buildings and roads are permanent even after server reset, at least that i read somewhere here, so that a road system between villages can develop. Is this still so? Because i dont see much roads on the map at all...

Mechanics have changed a bit. There was a time with some natural restoration, but some items were immune. I don't think that system is currently in use.

Another system clears chunks of the map that haven't been seen in I think a week, but only on server restart.

Server *resets* (apoc or Jason when he thinks conditions changed significantly) are total - nothing survives. Well, I guess live players survive an apoc, though many die without the support their former clothes and town.
