are the home markers broken ?

so as i yesterday left a bigger town to collect some stuff from the surrounding, i didn't set my own home marker, because there seemed to be one in function

but then, as i aimed to return i noticed that the way home was leading me farther & farther away

i eventually died trying, because i wasn't prepared to run in the nothingness with nothing more left to eat, neither on me nor in the area itself

If somebody on your server rings a bell and you don’t have a homemarker, your homemarker changes to lead to the bell. (I Think)

should show distance at least  once, died trying to find one, well i ran into a wolf, lost a knife, tought is my moms marker as she died feeding two kids, told my cousin i go find my moms home, i went trough like 5 deserts in 15 bioems, two with monolith, few small cicamps, then succesfully dodged many snakes and even killed some, then somehow i died to a wolf which is kinda hard they dont follow and they run diagonal so you got like 1 to 15 chance to die, if im suicidal baby almost never manage at first try
tought something wrong, had my aunt there too so my mom couldnt travel that much but too late to turn back

Lol trolled by a bell tower! You wanna hear something even funnier. It changes to the last bell tower rang. so even if you walked 2000 tiles and you are almost at the place that rang it. someone on the opposite end of the world can ring it and it will start pointing there.
