And some of the people reading this may well remember finding other towns about a year ago without too much trouble.
The Hetuw mod when it initially appeared, I called 'the coordinate mod', since you could use it to find the location of coordinates of other families (usually), and you had your own coordinates available at all times. Some people had found other towns without so much trouble before the Hetuw mod had existed also, and had done so on a reliable basis. So what happened?
Jason asked about how players were finding coordinate positions naming such "leaks" and Tarr informed Jason of them as can get seen here: https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=6121
Jason in particular says:
So you guys are constantly interacting with people outside your own family?
In my VOG survey yesterday, I didn't see anyone interacting outside of their own family.... 11 isolated families.
Tarr: are you aware of any additional global coordinate (or long-distance relative coordinate) leaks? Toxic was hinting at some.
I know that you could potentially look at patterns in the map itself, but beyond that
Then Jason changed the code making finding other towns via publicly obtainable coordinates unviable.
So basically a solution to finding other towns existed before Jason tried to come up with a solution himself.
Then Jason blocked the solution and has now spent who knows how much time trying to invent a solution all on his own. He might have just contracted Hetuw for that section of code and decided not to call such coordinate positions being as available as they were a "leak". That probably would have not taken as much time, and had other benefits.
But, when you have a game designer who isn't a team player and has serious misunderstandings about his own ability and more, that's what happens.

But it's easier to everyone who use vanilla game
Anyway, I have to say that I'm a bit bored by the repeated personal attacks you throw in every fucking posts you pull out of your ass. You should seriously think about wiping it at some point.

While expert stones can still be annoying to find depending on biome setups they work mostly fine for finding other towns now.
Not surprisingly you're complaining about the wrong part of the update though.

You're bored? And you thought you were entitled to be entertained by my posts?
Also, there exist an abundance of examples of Jason arguing with the playerbase. He also doesn't work with anyone. He said that he didn't want deeply thought out fixes a while back and still has that post stickied. Enough people do solve problems better than he does.

I guess I was the only one who could map out the entire server before my character grew hair, it took me a while at the start and anyone who I explained to couldn't do it properly.
I mean you could take 1-2 coordinates and remember and go around based on it but visually plotting it was way better
yeah the expert way stones are similar, I wouldn't mind reintroducing the leak, I was such a niche thing, maybe 5 players did it
