waystone blocking water grief

waystones are used to block paths/access (quickly surround wells, even in the only bell town, so ANY well is quickly surrounded)
, and its 1/4 to 1/5th as easy as previous blocking-grief.

waystones should not be movement blocking. maybe turn them into thin OBELISKs that you can walk onto.

---

waystones can be elder-removed, but this hardly ever happens in time, and should be a hassle.
undoing things is way too hard, usually needs 2 players cooperating, so that "undo all the things grief" is not too easy, unless theres evil twins, in which case it wont do anything, and where ever undoing ANYTHING is NOT possible (easily enough), the game benefits all the access-blocking-grief.

Elder removal nonsense needs paper, needs water and 2 old people that know what to do.
with mixed town language barrriers and average stupidity, all this is too rare, therefore, blocking wells with way-stones is the common thing people do now.  this also blocks access to water, needed for paper.

i saw it happen 3 times, self indulgent way-stones blocking off bells or wells, and ALL people around me (too young and too ignored) where ignorant and oblivious, no knifing, no cursing ever, its just done too quickly, as it only needs a quater aas many stone blocks as tye ole unremovable blocage.

"monarch territory" most recently dlocked a newcomeen pump, fast moving wasd hhetuv mod player.

Re: waystone blocking water grief

I saw this happening today in the two-bears bell town. Someone had blocked the oil pump and we got very lucky to have a conservative player that saved a tool slot for their pencil. Most people use them all by middle age at the latest.

It's so easy to do, too. The town was dead when I arrived and rang the bell. A few people showed up and by the time I went to ring it again the bell tower was blocked off. Someone was determined to kill the town, and it was so easy.

+1
Ungriefing should be easyer than griefing

I undid the way stones in bear bell town
Even stabed the griefer since he tried to undo the removal notes

Anything can be used for griefing, so it can't be easier, only exactly as easy.

Re: waystone blocking water grief

Yeah I had to undo some waystones near bear towns oil rig myself today.

At the very least they should be easier to remove (shovel maybe for normal, then elder notice for ancient) or at the very least only let an elder be the one to strike it with a stone to deny the removal. Had to baby sit the waystones because someone came over and denied all of them while I walked away to actually play the game.

Another suggestion is just don't let them be built on floors. This means you could just put some snow floors around oil rigs or floors around normal things to prevent blocking.

Of course, not letting them block at all would also solve this issue as this exact issue only exists with things that go ancient (walls, bell tower bases, and waystones) which means one idiot can block things as a town is dying to fuck future generations.

That was me. My genetic score is over 150. I never use all my tool slots.

-------------------------------------

I'm on the verge of quitting this game designed to encourage and support anti-social gamer's enjoyment. It just seems to keep getting worse and worse. The fact that again, we are spread out over about 7k distance is a big part of the problem. You can't organize to stop griefers when you have 90 players on, spread out over 30 "towns", most of those being tiny fledgling startups. Half of players at this point don't even want to play in a town and will leave as soon as they are old enough to GTFO because they know towns are just griefer magnets, and they are sick of it. Once you have 5-6 bigger bell towns around at once, none of them have enough people to really operate like a big town anyway, and yet again, we are stuck in an endless cycle of playing caveman stage.

What do we need? Maybe a way to see if someone near you is someone you've cursed in the past, IDK....even 24 hours. Because as it is, cursing means nothing. So they can't be born super close to you? Big deal, they could be born close enough that they can get back to near you in like 2 minutes of walking. And even if they are really dead set on griefing a certain place and in one life you keep them away, as soon as you die you'll come back probably 5k away and they will come back near where they want to wreck.

But....

If I could see some kind of bad aura or something around someone who I've tagged before. Then I can do something with curses that's useful. It will mean more to not curse people over trivial things because then you won't be able to tell real problem people from some guy you cursed just because he picked up your cart to actually use it because you left it alone for 15 minutes and nobody knew you laid claim to it for all eternity.

I'd take my chances with getting run out of a town or killed because I carry a mark over all the people I'd see that are known offenders. I'd take that chance in a heartbeat. Because right now, the main tool we have to discourage bad behaviour and stop it is the CURSE, and it 100% does nothing.

Why not just make them removable by anyone.

technically not

a+b is not equal b+a

actually the griefing should be harder and more boring than building something
if it's important you still do it

on s1 I saw a complete town surrounded with waystones, one way out, so you had to spawn inside, and I wouldn't trust myself that I would go back there, not sure about others

Red cow town a plane was surrounded, with the only black cloak and one of the two pants I saw, and I made both as I know so some asshole wasted the kero to move the plane then locked it with the clothes in it

Not so sure about the 1/4th to 1/5th part.  Technically, one can block off a spring before any steel tools exist.
