I've put this as a question, since I haven't been playing on bs2.
But, I did spend a few lives either doing oil rigs or building roads to tarry spots (after finding them) a few months back on bs2. At the time it wasn't a big deal to run a newcomen atmospheric core out to a tarry spot (the newcomen atmospheric core is the thing that goes on a pump, a multipurpose newcomen engine, and an oil rig... here's an image: https://onehouronelife.gamepedia.com/Fi … _Core.jpg), since it would be something like 80 tiles out of town maybe. But, with oil running out, and the topographic ring system potentially locating players far away from tundras, and from talking to some people on the discord, I have to think that it's a holdup having to run a newcomen atmospheric core out to a tarry spot. Especially when moving to a new tarry spot after the first oil rig has run dry or later. At least, if anyone gets there.
