What happens if the player curse himself?

Yesterday I saw that my niece's last words were a curse on himself.

It was a new player and probably this person wanted to try swearing without harming anyone.

I wonder - does it work?

No no no.  I'm pretty sure it means she won't be able to play with herself.

was the curse text purple?

But are you sure sure?  Test it out on yourself.  The worst case scenario is that you won't be able to play with yourself for 30 days...
