We aren't talking about real life.  People aren't interested in exact simulations of reality.  They aren't interested in real play.  If they were, they would not be interested in playing any sort of game to begin with, which by nature requires a suspension of belief.  They would just do something else with their time.  People are interested in imaginative scenarios, in other words, role play, and any time they play a game that's what they are doing and will be doing.

Actually, that is exactly one of the reasons why I play this game. It's an easy alternative to real life. I enjoy roleplaying as people I will never get to be irl, but that evolve in situations similar to real life. Btw, it's "suspension of disbelief".

Re: Coming Soon: Genetic score changes

Question: If scores are uncapped, does that mean playing more = higher score & rank on the leaderboard (as long as you go up on average)?
Cuz if so, shucks, there go all my hopes of ever reaching #1

Damn, at some point we will see players with 1000 genetic score and it will only increase over time. I'm excited that we are able to get infinite slots, but maybe whole formula should also include our genetics score. So the more score we have the less and less points we would get, and lose more points when someone from our close family dies young. I still would want people to be able to reach 200 points and have many skill slots.

In other games they usually factor in a limited daily or weekly bonus so that you don't have to ignore your job and family to compete, hopefully after things settle from recent changes a similar approach is taken if needed

Re: Coming Soon: Genetic score changes

Maybe a boost to genetic score when we kill griefer, that was cursed by, like, 3-4 players?

While an ok idea in theory, how would you go about proving someone was a griefer to get this bonus?

Re: Coming Soon: Genetic score changes

I can't prove it. Multiple curses usually means many people saw what that person does, so it's more likely it was real griefer. If we kill someone that will be banished to donkey town (4 curses if I remember correctly), we can get the bonus.

Another idea - blessings. smile If we can curse, we can also bless someone that helps village.
