Now im officially an upgrade hopper, i didn't quit on the game yet but i kinda lost the motivation to play without any goal and any stable state. The arcs are so fast, you don't even see the map and people start killing each other and it's over, whatever you build is a butterfly fart life length project.
You might never even get back there. This is especially bad if you only play 1-2 games a day, and honestly i didn't really had the time for it anyway.
SO as the title says:
what small/simple update would make the game completely different, and fun to try out again?
For example i would like upgradeable items. This would be small graphical change, like some size or color change. Every qualified item would start on level 0. To upgrade to lvl1 would need some work on it, ad maybe some luck.
Lets say you plant a few bushes. would be a low chance you find a new seed. planting that seed would result in a new bush which is slightly faster growth or more abundant.
Lets say it would change color, the leafs darker and the berries other color. so after the initial bushes you could plant a new upgraded plantation for a better yield.
This could work for most consumables but mostly noticeable for high volume used plants.
For clothes would work differently
For a few actions you could upgrade your clothes. Like a generated recipe from like 4 item combined.
This would be a sprite change. The sprites for upgrades would be unique per arc (either that or some sort of decay on them)
Users would submit some sprite changes. Some players would be selected after game, to check if these sprites are legit (no ads or pornography, actually it's what it says) also if they look decent.
then maybe jason could do a final check on them if they are worth placing in the game.
if the player upgrades a piece of clothing would get a random item from the list and would remove it from the pool (maybe limited copies only)
like instead of Straw hat you could get a "rare strawhat 01'
this would create unique player submitted items in the place of normal items and would be a fun randomness

Rare and unique items... This is something we want. Even if It's not this idea, implement something similar.

well, just as a simple example
i changed straw hat for this:
and fur hat for this
both look good, work properly and isn't too much of difference from main game graphics
if we don't get more clothes, at least we have some special ones, upgrading shouldn't be easy
if it's tested and working, jason wouldn't need to create content just a randomizing algorythm and sprite replacement (shrooms already do that)

Pein does make his own mods. If you have nothing useful to say, why bother posting?
I think this sounds like a cool idea. Unique items would make the world have more variety. Perhaps one families make strawhat1 and another family makes strawhat2, so they both look distinct.

I'd like to permanently ban griefers from being born to me...I've cursed them for a reason and am unluckily to want to play with them again
Or just to know if your child has been cursed!
If I have a kid with five curses then I can deal with them how I see fit, instead of having no way of knowing
