Wild spawning dug cactus

If anyone is worried about the apparently rampant cactus griefing, it is actually a game bug.   The dug cactus spawns as a natural object with a "rare" chance, so all deserts now have a few.   Not sure if they are taking the spot of an intact cactus, but I'm going to guess that they are.

I'm rather relieved since I couldn't figure out how someone found the time to dig that many of them so quickly after the last reset.   It would take some serious dedication to do that much hungry work in a desert.

Yeah you can see them on the outside of the rift haha.

It was definitely offputting at first.

Whoops!

This
just
keeps
happening.

When I duplicate an object in the editor, all properties are preserved, including map likelihood.  Should be 0.0 for dug cactus, but the one from the live cactus got copied.

Naturally occurring objects are so rare that I should highlight them specially in the editor to make this impossible to not notice.

If they are so rare, perhaps don't copy that property? If you are testing an object you *want* to spawn, you'll probably notice if doesn't show up.

Re: Wild spawning dug cactus

It sounds like an "all or nothing" process.   So he probably pick the normal cactus, because it already was close to what he wanted, but forgot to remove the spawn property because it is a rare (but powerful) setting.

Honestly, it could be worse.   At least we don't have a crazy cactus murderer on the loose.   It is just Nosaj up to his old tricks again.  ;-)
