So i was born into a small camp, barely had any tools yet, they were working on it, you would thought is like gen 3-4, maybe a late 10 max
but weirdly we had some advanced clothes like my pants and a few hats
according to my logs, no city nearby at least 4000 tiles and havent found any remnants either, also a horse cart with no fence yet

they made tools but us the babies were disturbing
i seen a set of furs, so as soon as i grow hair i took the needle, possibly the only and went out getting a tread
successfully made my pack
i went out to get some ropes, eventually made lasso and hid it
i made bow but soon was taken by some chick who had wool clothing after an old person step on snake
she just ran around with it and she lost it

i made a bit of ordering, like taking bones out, arranging around kilns
then i thought i make a pen
they were already late to dig the reed out so i figured i make out of sugar

cut down 5 sugar in south jungle
then started hoarding the soil, also clearing out the camp from dirt piles
i had to get some more from east
i planted one extra sugar to get more wall material, but soemone took a stalk so i had to get a wild anyway, after a bit of chatting it grow out mostly so i went to get lamb after it

people soon noticed it, and with no bow yet, or adobe, they couldn't make other, and ofc im pretty fast, i was half ready before my first baby
i dropped her near fire and rushed to finish it
2-3 people were helping a bit on watering, the axe broke when i cut the last piece

i went out to get a lamb, actually shot 2 wolfs and 2 mouflons with lamb , took one home, moms dead corpse was near it with a pack, five min later someone took both wolf skins and the pack
i still got a hide, and took the other mouflon too

people were happy about the place and moms running around with babies showing off
and the girl thanked me at the end

i made boards around the berry field until the berry was growing, then placed 4 tiles under the pen and made an oven first, then a chest, then ran out with horse to get a rope, and made a second chest
a home marker and then cut the door place
some people were accusing me of griefing that "you broke our sugar pen"
told them i made it and it's safe

finally my milkweed seeds in the bowl got planted after we had compost
i stabbed all 3 snakes in the desert cause we had another accident

at 59 say goodbye to people, was a fun life maybe you will see more sugar pens

It was definitely a first seeing at least 3 people standing in the pen just to admire it LOL. It was awesome ^^ !! I'm in one of the pics too (young blonde one).

(Also during that life I apparently accidentally took someone's hat and didn't realize it until way later that they tried to get my attention (I didn't even notice, my twin told me) and I just want to apologize to whoever that was if they see this I wasn't trying to ignore anyone!! I felt so bad the rest of my life for that orz)

I like it. I expect it might get attacked more often, but sheep getting out isn't the end of the world.

If you had a spot where it would work to have the oven above the pen, I think it would be worth it to forget the lower berry bushes and replace them with sugarcane. It's a little less soil and water. The real bonus though in my opinion would be the sugarcane blocking the bushes. I would expect that would decrease the probability that they get picked, or if left dry possibly even grown.

yeah its covered so they dont see top ones but bottom got picked last time
tilled soil or hardened row works too

and to mix some new ones: tomatoes
they are useless mostly, but if someone wants some ketchup, then you can just pick some off, when all gone by accident, there is still a marker and a hardened row, so it takes more time to get rid of that than the whole pen

Since a planted gooseberry seed works (hasn't gotten watered), I would think that dry planted potatoes would work also, given that the local grassland has two wild potatoes.

i just put tomatoes, actually no tooltip so had to check it on onelife
in midst of my only niece questions
she had a few girls and we were alive
they were kinda dumb or dunno
one brought my bow home, i was afraid she kills someone with it
then she cut 2 green trees right after
the other one almost made some key, told her we cant afford and it's nothing to lock yet

i like tomatoes but yeah, whatever works

the ultimate pen would be spark gaps and looms
