I live in europe and got frustrated by the lag of the game, so instead of complaining I though just to start my own server. So here we go

Server Version: 72
Game Data Version: 73(Changelog)
Max Players: 80
No mods
Game key required (you must have baught the game to play on this server)

Differences to official servers:

No map culling. (might be enabled some day but if it will be much longer than 24 hours for stuff to disappear if ever enabled). Reasoning: The change was made on official servers for performance reasons not game play reasons. I believe it does not improve the game play and currently this server works fine without
No apocalypse
There are a few first and last names added to the whitelist

Roadmap & Governace

The server will not incorporate major game play differences to the official servers, like hunger reduction or new items
Server performance is key

Using the server

Download and use ohol-launcher.

Well, this is quite offtopic. But here we go

If you think you know so much maybe you could have checked who the ip range belongs to and you would have noticed it is a datacenter and not my personal internet connection. So, sorry to disappoint but I am not a frensh man. But yeah, the datacenter with the server is in France.

Putting the IP in a picture makes it quite hard for anyone who wants to join to copy and paste it. So I think that is a bad idea.

For the server the geoIP data is off by about 3 km. Which still is pretty good. The geoIP for my home internet connection is off by 630km. So do not put so much trust into those location services. At least not so much you can say if a sports complex is nearby.

Woh I tested it and it is amazing how responsive/reactive the game is on the server since I'm from EU. I feel like I can play without any input lag anymore, which was a great feeling.

Bugreport:
I died at the age of 60, but there was the following text: "cause: unknown".
Usually there should be written "old age", and this is very important, because otherwise the area where i have been living will not be saved for the next runs.

Same for me, new home. And also died of unknown at 60, so I couldn't respawn at the village I was working on, which was sad..

Really love reactive input, no delay is such a great feeling on this eu serv.

I will look into the "unknown cause of death" issue. I believe that your progress should still be there. Did you spawn in a different area or was your stuff gone?

440 -320 seems to be the biggest city location for the time being. So if you ever want to come/come back to the "biggest"/active city. At least the info is here.

I did not spawn that much away from my old place now, because I had a life where the cause of death was "old age", but this is not always the case, even if i become 60yo every time.
So I can't really tell, if the respawn system is working correctly or not.

But it definitely is the best server to play

I looked into "unknown cause of death" issue and could not yet figure out what is happening, sorry.

But as far as I can tell, the respawn system works as intended.

Will continue to investigate in the next days.

PS I decided to get a domain for the server! So you can now use

onehour.world

instead of the direct ip! So please update your config

Is the server working or not ? Tried the new one "onehour.world", not working. I get a login failed. (can play official servers though so...)

That is strange. I just a had great game with wonderful daughters and I died of old age, with both of them right beside me... And then was reborn as son of my daughter. Well that is life.

Anyway, do you have discord? If so, pm me and maybe we can debug this together.

the city at (439;-330) is called carrotville

yesterday night we made this fucking big wall around those villages. and the guy who helped me said "this is fort kickass"
I thaught it sounds logical, because the wall is so big that it has space for at least 8 villages

i saw the wall, and i have no idea why it is there

but carrotville was founded on sunday morning, my mom had a little camp, but she died shortly after i was born.
i took her clothing and i made steel tools, in my next life, i made a few carts and a milkweed farm
in my ~seventh life, i made the sheep pen and discovered that it doesn't work
im the founder
after that, i just farmed pies then quit when nobody was around

i wasn't online yesterday, and today, i continued the roads and made three crowns
im still the founder

but im playing 95% outside carrotville, because i think in very big dimensions

i want to build a giant fort within the next weeks and months
