Bug fix week

The plan this week is to focus on fixing bugs. The list of reported bugs has grow quite long, so this is overdue. You can see the lists here:

I'm still having tons of trouble with disconnects at the beginning of the game, would be too frustrating to play if i was a noob and didn't live to 60 most of the time

I'm in WA state.

it started right before the big server update, I commented on it on the Big Server Update thread, and three other people reported the same problem

I'd like to complain about lags and disconnects since the big server update as well. Both have been especially bad today since 5 pm CST. I've dropped 3 or 4 times in 2 hours of game play. One of them costing me a very good life. Hailing from South Dakota.

yeah I actually lost connection at age 51 today, which was really abnormal. it's almost exclusively the first 5 minutes of playing

Usually i can exit the game and come back and be the same person, but it took like 3 times to reconnect and then when it finally did it was a new life, where of course it disconnected upon birth again.

I would also like to report lag and disconnect issues this afternoon. Tried playing with two other people today and we kept disconnecting. We're all in Ontario.

Oooooooh, you know.... I was in a town where half the village suddenly stopped moving. I was going about my business fine, and several others were, but half the people just stopped moving, and eventually died. If the western US and Canada suddenly had a disconnect, that would explain things. FYI, I'm in eastern US.

This was a little over three hours ago, judging by the family tree for my character.

I'd been getting minor lag for a while, It's gotten a lot worse since big servers. For me, it primarily happens in big towns.

You probably also know that planes barely seem to function, often taking off and landing on the same strip.

That happens to me too, when it says "Connection lost... reconnecting... trying to reconnect.... login failed." Then I re-log in and it takes me back to the game.

i think it would be time to address some issues:

partial snowmans doesn't melt
pork and sheep is still too similar
potato is griefing due to the indirect nerfs to shovel and water value drop
sand piles are unremovable (and where are the glass bowls, plates, walls?)
stop destroying boxes and chests
and let us undo them instead
same for rubber tires and other stuff

As far as it was concerned, you were connected the whole time.

Next time the game does this to you (especially if it's early in a life), can you quit immediately and send me:

Is this the opposite side to this problem? The server never showing you as connecting even though you did?

i don't know where to find the stdout.txt, but i can certainly send you the recorded game file for any of these, it's happened every game i've played. Searching stdout does find an English.txt file related to OHOL, but it looks to all by default.

What's the best way to contact you? I assume the hope is to get the information while my character is still alive and connected.

I dont know if this helps at all, but when it freezes it doesn't always show a connection error. If I'm being held i have to exit the game entirely and it reloads as the same character

if I'm not being held, trying to grab an item will make it know it's disconnected and it will reconnect me pretty rapidly. But I may have to do that like 5 times in 5 minutes
