Get them by right clicking on domestic goose - in a large town most ponds will have been made into wells. Also, stacking pies would be useful, and chickens, and maybe cheese.
One more thing: it's incredibly hard for players to even try to start working on half the new technology because the game is still in "hunter-gatherer mode" where you didn't want us to create large cities. I see more and more large cities but most are just large berry farms and I I've barely gotten to try half the new technology, let alone make a car.
